  • damn sick bike..i sat on a 48 2day at the laconia dealership..it was sick..check out my 883 sportster

  • can this bike become a 2 seater?

  • @elshit1983 yes, just add a P-Pad and passenger pegs

  • Wow NICE !!!!!!!!... GOOD JOB BRO!!

  • No harley is a girl bike... that's what yamabitch and kawabitch are for.

  • No front fender means you'll be sandblasting the cool paint/epoxy finish off your motor and front downtube asap.

  • @PaulKasner you are right, never thought of that. Guess ill have to touch her up every couple of years

  • with the tank lift how much will a tank get you miles wise? around 80 miles before fill-up?

  • @MrToogood2139 i get 55 miles in the city and around 70 on the highway. I also have my fuel management set a bit richer than stock

  • another 48 bites the dust. they did such a nice job on this one I just don't get it, lots of people doing backyard mods to these little beauties. For all of you guys doin this to 11 thousand dollar bikes, why not buy a used 1200 and go nuts. I think they look great as is, wish I could afford one and when I see these mod vids it's fustrating.

  • @kraznos Bike is paid for homie. Bout to drop another 2 grand on new pipes, paint job and powder coating and custom made seat. As soon as i am done with this one, Im buying 2012 road glide

No kids, no wife, no bills. Every bike i have now and will own later, will have every mile and all work done be me cant say that with a used bike. THATS WHY

  • And I'm happy to see rush pipes coz I'm so sick of seeing short shots I could puke!!!!

  • Charlie, does the 48 ride well on the highway?

  • @flyingrv6 At 65 it is in its element . Although i have to note i have modified the suspension. Street glide shocks in the back and progressive drop springs up front. Bike sits 2" lower in the back and 2 5/8" in the front. Bike is much more stable now at 85+ miles an hour. I might be getting a fork stabilizer in the future as i frequently exceed that speed and would rather not have to hold on to that sucker like a bull. Ill also check the balance of the front tire soon

  • @504CharlieBoy504 this is the reason for what i have sold this shit bike. it s fucking dangerous.now i have an xr1200x.anyway yours is beautiful cheers

  • @cubo714 my buddy Mike has an xr1200 awesome bike

  • @flyingrv6 i ll answer to that question..the 48 on the highway SUCKS..it is UNSAFE over 70 mph and that is the reason for what i have sold it.

  • Notice the heads aren't chrome. That's the only thing I don't dig about the new 48, chrome motor. Did you swap 'em out with Iron heads?

  • @2Quickforyoumx522 i took them off and painted them with Harley spray can wrinkle black paint. They are starting to peel. I have a set of wrinkle black powder coated box covers ready to install.

  • did you make the tank lift?

  • @cubo714 made the bracket myself. it was simple. Bought some steel at home depot, drilled hole 2.25 inches apart. Rounded edges "like a pill". unbolted tank, slide in brackets and bolt it all up.

  • Fantastic!

  • @504CharlieBoy504

Did you change out any of the cables when you installed the drag bars? Read on some forum that it's required

  • @CaptainSprinkles85 nope. Clutch, throttle and brakes work fine after adjustment. no need for cables. just adjust clutch and throttle

  • looks old school looks great

  • Nice bike! what kind of bars are those?

  • @Matt3000TX licks drag bars

  • @Matt3000TX

1" Drag Bars 28" ETE- DIMPLED

    [25-0412]

  • Out at the butterfly, cool from NO here too

  • Hey how did u lift the tank ...did u use any lift kit or something ?? Thanks

  • @TheLongboardlife made the bracket myself. it was simple. Bought some steel at home depot, drilled hole 2.25 inches apart. Rounded edges "like a pill". unbolted tank, slide in brackets and bolt it all up.

  • @sjn25281 Hey, how did you manage to relocate the spedometer there? And what kit did you use or did you make your own 'kit'?

Could you show pix of closeups? thanks!

  • @Chessmanexe relocation is by joker machine. You can make it yourself a lot cheaper with an auto meter bracket. I used the joker because of the dummy lights.

  • @504CharlieBoy504

How tight is the spacing for those licks bars? Was thinking of getting them for my 48 but read that the twenty eight inch bars are too small

  • @CaptainSprinkles85

Oh its tight, have to do a bit of tinkering with hand controls and mirrors. BUT THEY FIT

  • Hey mate. How do you get the Nightster gators onto the forks? Do you have to disassemble the front end or can you slip 'em on somehow?

  • @sjn25281 yep loosen up tree, slide for out and gators on. Just so you know, they will most likely split.

  • if i get a bike like this, the first thing im gonna change is the Tail, then the Exhaust, then the Bars...then the Rear Tire Width

  • @MommyBird10 not really into big rear tires. but they are plenty of great exhaust. Im guessing you would chop the tail

  • Charlie, What kind of drag bar is that? I've been looking for one for my 48, but I can't find one that will fit over the fork caps. Thank you

  • @srodriguez1975 lick drag bars

  • CharleyBoy, whats the specs on your drag bars? Cool bike....I just got a black sportster48 last week. This bike rocks! Safe riding! DavidYeo

  • @davidyeo1 licks drag bars

  • @504CharlieBoy504 Which ones of the Licks drag bars are your? They have 3 listed. Please advice. Thanks!

  • Nice bike, Charlie. Like the custom work you've done. I'm a neighbor (I live in Gonzales, LA). I have a 2008 Nightster that is customized. I just posted a video of her on youtube. Check it out!

  • nice go over

  • Do you find it rides better with those rear shocks versus the stock ones?

  • @IROCKID WAY better

  • @504CharlieBoy504 Thanks for the reply. Where did you get your smooth handlebar clamp?

  • @IROCKID dra specialties

  • Strange, how the world can be a complete crock of shit...

But when you have a hog like this...

    You just don't care.

    Elegantly and thoughtfully done!

  • beautiful bike!.. we are all excited to see that orange 48 on your oil cover...

    we're waiting...

  • @shanghaiKISS02 Next video will include 2 inch drop front and back, new 7 inch headlight, new tail light lenses, front turn signals by joker, passenger and rider pegs will match the rest witch are black diamond series.

Next month ill be ordering the rich phillips seat and p-pad. AFTER THAT COMES THE PAINT AND POWDER COATING. Hoping to be done by September so i can get started on a 68 chevy pick up i have my eye on

  • did you loose any noticeable fuel capacity with the tank lift?

  • @desertrat423

yes it went down to 1.7 gals

  • First of all Charlie Boy thumbs up on that sick ass custom work. I just picked up my 2011 48 and have been watching vids like mad to see what I want to do.

I would imagine when your not riding your customizing in the garage, lol. That's some time and effort right there.

Hey what did you say that side bag was? That's the fist bag I have seen that isn't too much.

  • @SilverTongueJona10 congrats on the new bike. the bag is made by licks . If you join the xl forum (great place to talk sportys and 48s) you will find a discount for forum members

One again congrats on the bike and make sure you make yours even sicker than mine

  • how the hell did you fit a shift peg at the rear break side ?

  • @manolinmartinez i cut the brake pedal pad even with the post. Then i "grinded" down the grips and rounded to match peg. Next i drilled a hole and tapped it out so i could just screw it in like the other side, instead of using a nut and washer on the back side

  • I love it Charlie Boy !!! I ride the SHIT out of mine too !!! LOL !!! RIDE HARD ~ DIE FREE

  • Sup charlie B? nice bike, I thinking of insalling drag bars (2010 XL1200L) do I have to change cables or brake line?

    '

  • @MrEddieVargas Thanks bro. Your bars seem a bit bigger so your cables may be too long. You will probably have to move your blinkers. They got in the way on my install

  • Hey! Nice ride!

I had something similar happen with my Rush pipes. Ended up having them sandblasted then powder coated. But! make sure the first 5 inches of the muffler near the header pipe is sanded to rough up the surface to hold the powder coat. I haven't had an issue with fading since!

  • Was going to do it, but decided i wanted a p pad so i can give the girlies a ride. Installing a rich phillips seat minus the springs

  • YOu need to cut that rear fender! and get a spring seat!
