Be very, very, very careful and aware of your surroundings if going to this beautiful island. Many tourists are murdered each year. Poor people mixed with wealthy tourists is not ideal.....

I got lost in the jungle on the mountain between victoria and beau ballon. thinking that I could get across after reaching the the cross atop. it was scary because it getting dark and soon it would be pitch black under the jungle canopy. If it wasn't that God heard my prayer I would have never gotten out of there and would have missed my boat. ps. try the bread fruit!
