it depends on what ure doing exactly. if its a piece on a wall i cant help u but if its in ur book. different shades of gray with a baby blue are perfect. grays and pink work well too.

purple and baby blue suit good. if u go with greens or browns stick to just different shades of that color. theres not a lot of colors that go good with it. maybe brown and pink tho. dont be afraid to use some gurly colors or anything lol.

i just start from dark area of color and swipe it across the light area and as i do i release pressure similar to flares when tagging. nothing special.
