  • whats the name of the marsch?

  • The Vimoutiers Tiger was blown up by it's crew in 1944 and was pushed off the road into ravine where it lay for some years.

A local farmer dragged it out and mounted it as a monument/tourist attraction.

A close look will show how wrecked it is. The torsion bar suspension is smashed, the hull expanded by internal explosions. Internally it is a total mess.

  • @bb5814 I agree, someone should send it to saumur museum, they restaure all the tanks they have. They have the only king Tiger which works on the planet !

  • 102 Schwere SS Panzer Abteilung

    Tiger #231 SS-Untersturmführer Walther Hahn

  • c'est pas un tigre mais un Panzer

  • Although the Tiger-1 is my favorate tank it kinda looks like a toy withought the exuast pipes xD

  • Vive La Tigre, Rah, Rah, Rah!

  • what a shame why somebody doesnt repairs it, ??? ww2 tanks are historical jewels

  • how was it stopped? was it hit by shell, bomb, rocket? Did it get stuck in a hole? Did it break down? Or rund out of fuel?

  • @brssgirl

Left by the crew, petrol shortage. After the Falaise pocket battle retreat. It was pushed in a dish, just near this location, by US bulldozers, who cleared the roads at this time, and stayed here 31 years, from 1944 to 1975.It was on the point to be dismantled by a local scrap dealer, but spared just in time by locals, who saw workers starting their job with cutting torches.and warned the local mayor.3 bulldozers were used to remove it from his dish,in a rainy afternoon of October 1975.

  • Looks like its still faithfully guarding the road after all these years.

  • Nice at 0:45. The tractor doing a wheelie while trying to pull the beast :)

  • Very interesting - for some reason they look a bit on the small side - I always thought of them as massive....
