Does it matter where you put your armor on or is the armoring "global" so it doesn't matter where you put it but the whole ship gets that boost of armor all over it.
I take it so that only thing which matters in placing is the turret placing but I doubt even that doesn't have big effects to anything.

Not really, there doesn't appear to be directional damage.
All weapons seem to have 360 degree arcs, but the game is still being developed, might make it in?
