Dire Straights are probably best known as an 80s band even if there debut was released in the 70s. Plus the late 70s were a musical wasteland equivalent to now plagued with disco and just shit. One of the best DS songs though.

In my opinion the late seventies were influenced by many artists, that yielded their fame into the eighties. Like Dire Straits, Kate Bush, Madness, Peter Gabriel and Gerry Rafferty. And the DISCO area had a late and extensive musical climax. EURO-Disco started there, too.

Mark used to pronounce every single deeply-ment feeling with his guitar ,his face and moves.Now he is a backacking guitarist ,still with golden hands, sitting "kind of lost" on a barchair...playing wit hhis band , almost like we were not there.

@sonofsatchmo Yeah He recorded this part on resonator in studio ...but he didn`t bring this guitar with him on the day of recording this TV show ..it`s a playback ..but only gifted musicians can withstand such conditions with grace that you feel like they are really playing and Mark is a such musician :)))
