  • Look at all that delicious grain! Those Russians are blessed with having such rich and diverse meals! They look like they couldnt be happier!

  • "We dont need pay we do whats needed"

  • changoloboperro for americans all non-hollywood films are propoganda

  • @habsabard there our harvest our harvest our harvets is tall. time to pick the harvest

  • this gets me in the working spirit!

  • i just have a sudden urge to farm and harvest wheat. help? someone?

  • stupid subhuman slavs

  • this amazing scene is contained in Michael Moore's documentary Sicko with subtitles

  • It is not "propaganda", any more than American musicals of this period. Everyone puts their best foot forward, and the immediate postwar USSR was a tough place. This is the opening scene of a 1949 musical "Cossacks of the Kuban". The story involves romantic triangles and comedy. Sort of a Soviet variant of "State Fair". Please, anyone who knows of an English-subtitle version, post where it can be obtained. Enjoy this video - I guarantee you will not be converted into a collective farmer!

  • Is not PROPAGANDA is a escene of a old movie...

  • 3:22 - why are the soviet women aimlessly shoveling grain back onto the piles? it's like they're trying to look busy haha no wonder this system failed!

  • Comment removed

  • @zio5q happened to my country? a recession isn't the same as a total failure of the system! you need to calm down over flippin' youtube comments, sorry to piss you off.

  • @TheOmegaMan1976

Russia will never reach the wealth and power of the soviet union again! Of course they were never so rich like US of A. But if socialism was the cause, so tell me why Mexico and Honduras are poor countries, having a capitalistic system.

  • @JordanChevalley Oh, please...America was killing itself with slavery and blindly digging for gold, so I have no idea what makes you think you lot are so much better than us.

  • @xBellatrixLestrangex

I never suggested that i'm better than anyone!

  • Their expressions look so forced.....

  • Man, I wish I could harvest grain with all those beautiful people. =]

  • That's a collective farm

  • Collective farming, like communism as a whole, was a complete and dismal failure.

  • I agree communism was failure !

But I do not agree, that fucking american fat greasy pig watch this video about our people in Russia.

go back to your fucking america and leave us allone !

  • @DiscoverRussia Watch your mouth Bitch!

  • @DiscoverRussia why so butthurt?

  • @SuperPaleocon

It worked fine and continues to work in Israeli kibbutzim.

  • @SuperPaleocon are you stupid or are you stupid?

  • @SuperPaleocon most of the farms in the US are so subsidized by the government that they might as well be collective farms. The only real difference is that farms here in the States are owned by individuals who get checks from the government, where as farms in the Soviet Union were owned by the government and gave checks to the workers.

  • Soviet ideas are fundamentally better than the Free Trade, or Free Enterprise ideology ( if it can be called that ) of today.

Well, I mean't more state ownership because private enterprise just seeks to make profit, the idea of absolute equality is one I support but unfortunately people want to segregate..

Anyone seen this anywher with english subtitles? I'm interested in what they're singing

  • You are absolutely wrong. We live in a world of scarce resources and with people who have different skill sets. The government can not control price and production and therefore the idea is fundamentally flawed.

Equality in a communist state means everyone is equally poor. The free market system harnesses man's desire for profit for the good of all people.

  • Price is an indicator as to what something is worth. For instance, if there were only 2 tomatoes in the world, they might be worth $2 billion each. But if there were 2 billion tomatoes they might be worth $0.20 ea. However, when the government fixes prices and subsidizes the rest you end up with high priced goods with poor quality, shortages and famine... hence the collapse of the soviet union. We won without firing a shot. They collapsed in on themselves.

  • One of the nice things about being communist is being funded by the state. That's why the soviets could make a colored movie in 1949 when such a thing was unheard of in the US.

  • Most succesful companies employ those former kgb nurses as secretaries. An elbow karate job can be deadly. That's why profits go up.

  • no doubt this used to be a propaganda film "used" by the USSR, though I believe it has positive effect on its people, it worked!

  • Catchy tune.

  • Communism works so long as you have a devoted populace.

  • I only dislike it because its undemocratic, I would prefer social democracy, however what Americans and the like call democracy is restricted by the aims of polticial partys and individuals, and also the corporations/Private Banks which in essence own the country because they fund both partys in America...

So its hard to really say that Freedom or Democracy reign in America with what we currently have..

Also Communists principally work towards something, unlike capitalists.

  • I mean't to say democratic socialism instead of social democracy, that would be the smallest compromise I would be happy with though

  • FUCKING STUMBLED

  • communist works, just lock at cuba:)

  • Almost anything can be propaganda.

This can be. For instance, portrayal of healthy and happy Russians when in fact most of them are starving.

The use of the music to whip up enthusiasm in people.

Either way, it is trying to make people think in a certain way and therefore it is propaganda.

Cinema in the old days, main source of propaganda. Even now maybe.

Doesn't change the opinion that it is enjoyable though.

  • why you called this "propaganda"? this is just old good movie, and this is movie popular even in our days, (in ukraine too)

  • and then Stalin killed them

  • holy shit thats a lot of grain

  • the grain fields of the ukraine fed almost all of Russia

  • it wasnt enuf tho, alot of the soviet people were hungry

  • So much for the communist ideal being achieved under that socialist mess, enough grain to feed all of Russia and there was still starvation. Still I love this video, it's amazing.

  • @SwimmerInBlue A lot of grain yet millions starved to death under Stalin in the 1930s

  • @SwimmerInBlue It's wheat...

  • u should make another one with subtitles

  • i agree, not that many people speak russian anymore

  • Well, at least not many outside russia

  • how come theres no subtitles?

  • buy the way I do not approve of any "Materialism" nether "Dialectical " or else .

Because "Materialism " is linked with capitalism .

Communism should be about , mind over metter ...and production ... for the perpose of creation .

after a product is finished thow ... it doesnt metter what hapenes to it ... you`ll make another one , may be even better .

  • Very beautiful video! 5 stars!

  • No has any rights. Only through sacrifice of the individual and the larger commune can anyone have any freedom. We must stay together, work together, and fight the capitalist swine who destroy our planet with their corrupting ways. Also, they are to blame for the poisoning of our envirinment.

  • Why is there like 1000 people working on a farm? I also thought commies hated Kuban Cossacks because they were on the white side durin the civil war. Those fucking stupid russians.

  • is it possible for there to be a republic with a command economy?

  • Bother! I have to speak again...Dreamz...*sigh* about the drought...there really was one. You should know about the "dustbowl" effect. It did not only hit the corrupt US, but also the USSR. Sadly, many free Bolsjevics (and Mensjevics) died because of it.

  • One last comment: Comrades, pull the fists out of your pockets; raise them high, throw down the capitalist swine and take their assets...the assets that are really the blood, sweat and labour of your fathers and mothers. Make them pay.

  • Ohh please. It was the capitalist system that financed Lenin and the Bolsheviks and built the USSR in the first place.

  • Everything you are , you owe to the USSR intervantion , or political preasure .

    Be thankfull.

  • The USSR was build with the socialist system of labour ... not with capitalist monney .

So be thankfull Worker THEY FOUGHT FOR YOU !

  • Back to human nature. We, as humans...as animals, which we are, are like wolves, like dogs, like doves. We are made to live in packs. We function better when in concert with other human..or canine...beings. Individualism is an illusion. We get stressed out when subjected to "individualism". This is a medical fact, and no matter what you say about it, humans are not made to work for their own benefit. Oh, about the corrupt US...that I really meant.

  • The corrupt US. Funny how the country managed to develop and grow at an unprecedented rate for over 2 centuries without any revolutions, Gulag concentration camps, mass purges, famines and totalitarian socialist personality cults; only on civil war that claimed far fewer lives than even the most heinous crimes by the soviet government against its own people.

  • US grew as imperialist power, sucking out 3rd world countries dry of material and cheap exploitation of labor. Don't forget colonial expansions.

And most of all WW2, which propelled US to the top. Credits giving from British Empire to Nazi Germany.

US is the country with most prisoners (even more then China), in which people suffer beyond limits when economical crisis strike, land of bigotry and chauvinism... Cubical for all world Drug, weapon and human trafficking.

    Great job!

  • In which liberty is equivalent the amount of HARD CASH you have with you. Land of the free for the few, and land of suffering to the majority. Majority of US Americans don't even have passports...

    Look at official government site:

    -Over 17.000 murders per year

-Over 90.000 rapes with severe outcomes

    ...etc Want more?

  • How are things going there, they would need another wave of Anti-Soviet propagandists type Robert Conquest, Montefoire...etc to do another revision of 'Stalinist' and 'Leninist' or Communist crimes, cause US is very close to the present alleged numbers...

  • Majority of Americans do not have passports because majority of Americans prefer to stay home. Most of the immigrants who have come to America from the ex-USSR since 1991 choose to remain here rather than go home. Most send money to their family and relatives back home. Such suffering here!! Bah. As far as murders and rape rates go it is a small figure out of a population of 300 million; most Americans pack heat to repel crime which serves as a deterrant. Not so back in the proletarian paradise

  • Majority of Americans, in fact, dream to visit Europe some day, but are ultimately unable to. While rich ones, having season villas all around America, travel as they please... have complete freedom. (This came from American mouths, not my logical deduction)

They also said, that people are heavily advised not to walk during nights (something about Gangsters) in any semi-highly populated place... etc etc

Of course people escaped after 1991, its restoration of capitalism, and no body likes that!

  • Most Americans do visit Europe. Many Europeans visit America as well; many Europeans, especially from the east, also desire to stay here after tasting a little bit of the American life. I have personally met many who choose such a path. People here have freedom to travel. America has one of the most mobile populations on earth, many who travel frequently and who can afford to do so. Who is this they that say not to walk during nights? I see streets filled with people at nights.

  • I don't know from what State/part of America are you, or from what class do you come from and do you even interact with broader environment (people...etc). But I know for a fact that MAJORITY of Americans don't even have passports, but they would certainly like to go outside of USA. (No wonder they can't leave their prison called USA... Great freedom right?)

  • The Majority of Americans who do not have passports choose not to have them. For Americans to travel to Mexico, Canada and some Carribean Islands a passport is not required. Internal travel is free; there are no internal checkpoints in America like GAI in Russia and no internal passports either. One can travel from one end of the country to the next without passports.

  • You must know that free market, as it was in the beginning, the root of capitalism is long dead.

Every WAR in history (every religious war, Imperial war), fact that there still exist Developed and undeveloped countries, fact that millions STILL die in Africa, fact that military and police is the prime research aim, fact that people still don't have their voice in media as in country, fact that in this time cure for cancer or AIDS could have been long found... EVERY DEATH is ON THEIR HAND

  • most colonization came at a great cost to the mother country since it was the colonizing power that sent capital, technology, material, know-how and skilled labor to the western hemisphere and the third world. If anything western corporations have moved most of their industry out of North America to the third world where people have jobs and are experiencing economic growth. Southeast Asia, China and India are prospering. Your first sentence is compatible with USSR policy.

  • Great cost for mother country, but even greater profit! Look at the Great Britain, USA, superpowers which built their wealth by sucking cheap labor and resources from 'client' states.

They brought such prosperity that people rebelled against them

You just need to look history of China during imperial and colonial manipulations from the Westernized countries. India that is still in the caste-system and with seemingly high social irreversible processes (except few states that communist control).

  • If you think that creating lots of factories (which aren't under their control), slave waging for 10% of what western working man would, creating a bourgoisie class in that country who creates its own 'world' (nice houses, selective healthcare, 100 types of toothpastes...etc), creating a strong government who will help them in suppressing the people's resistance to this slavery... If you think that is same good that imperialism brings, then why don't you live there few years?

  • And it is this bourgeois class that does the conceiving, planning, thinking and creating of such goods and services. They became bourgeoise by means of their hard work and industriousness. By extension, the downtrodden aim to become bourgeois by working hard and struggling by their own merits to achieve the most that they are capable of and not at the expense of anyone else.

  • Bourgeois became ruling class trough fully conquering means of production and introducing Bourgeoisie dictatorship. People that made it all possible are non other then HARD WORKING PEOPLE who receive laughable slave-wages and need to sell themselves each day to the capitalist OWNERS.

Only 1 in 100 from the working class gets opportunity to ascend to the capitalist class (from crime or 'dead aunt' trick...), REST SUFFER the RUTHLESS DICTATORSHIP of Bourgeoisie and its own will, goals and aims

  • Great Britain built its wealth through trade with other powers. Most of the raw material that was imported from the colonies were paid back in manufactured goods. In the initial phases of colonization most of the resources and skill and capital for the developing colonies came from the mother country ant great cost; the colonies stood to benefit from such development. Look at the foreign investment in China and how they benefit. India has had a caste system for centuries and is not western

  • Raw material was taken from the colonies, cheap labor was exploited, people killed for maintaining peace... You just need to open book from Economy class, and look under Great Britain - India relationships and goods.

There is very big difference when exploiting the capitalists like NOW in China, and how defenseless (people were divided, countries crushed...) colonies were exploited by freelance slavers and imperialists

  • The war of independence of USA is considered a revolution by many historians, since it adopted the ideas of Enlighenment. The problem is that Americans tried the ideals written by Frenches, specially when they added "God" to their constitution, creating some kind of crypto-fundamentalist government.

As declarationists claim and liberals agree, most of US policy is guided according to religious principles. US hanged enlightenment and, as the richest country, it can´t food its whole pop.

  • What was revolutionary about the war for independence came later with the formation of the Constitution and Bill of Rights in 1789 and its ratification by the states in 1791. For many the revolution was a restoration of the rights institutions and laws they had as Englishmen derived from past English kings. This was in contrast to the French revolution which was internal social upheaval and massacres. The Fonding Fathers acknowledged a "creator" who endowed humans with inalienable natural rights

  • For any historian or person with good sense, the American Independence had the nature of a Revolution. Many traditional historians disagrees because in US "revolution" is wrongly associated with "communism" and US government itself is today reactionary.

But the fact is that it broke with a previous production mode and stablished a Constitutional government initially oriented by enlightenment principles, something absolutelly new at history.

  • The idea of creator is a distortion of enlightenment principles, since religion and science are completely opposite things, that´s why Frenches lost their faith in US destiny.

The idea of inalienable natural rights itself is a myth, who said that they were inalienable? Is there any charter written by this "creator" expressing it? Does it have his signature? Every jurist know that in Law´s world, there are not "absolute rights", all of them are relative.

  • Yes the French revolution took a different path and it led to chaos and internal instability resulting in the rise of a demogogic leader named Napoleon. So by abandoning their faith in a creator they put their faith in a cult of personality to elevate another human being to the pedestal of supreme king, tyrant, dictator, etc... It happened in France with Bonaparte, Germany with Hitler and Russia with Lenin and Stalin. The American founders saw natural rights as self-evident and absolute.

  • I still can't believe you supported colonialism and capitalists... You either have guts to say that nonsense openly for fun, or you are really uneducated programmed lemming...

  • I have yet to see a capitalist free market system murder millions of its hard working, entrepreneurial elements of society in Siberian concentration camps. I have yet to see capitalism steal other people's property then collectivize agriculture, set high quotas and dump the grain on western markets while allowing its own people to starve to death by the millions. I have yet to see show trials, mass purges and mass executions of government and party elite in capitalist countries.

  • You see, when I see Lenin's slogan, and picture of Lenin standing triumphantly over the hydro plant it reminds me of historical epoch of one event, it channels personification of Lenin of all that people stood for. Thats why PEOPLE don't mind it. It expresses years of blood and tear in which Lenin and whole working country won their freedom and was building new world... Like it was said, there is Lenin inside us all. For a outsider like you, its totally uncomprehending and unimportant.

  • You see, when something like this happens in hypocritical bourgeoisie world, its logically a personality cult because no one likes the bourgeoisie, and they could only wish that they could be loved. Thats the point of this. They can only brainwash you into submission, while in Socialist mentality, you just need to raise a flag, and all will understand in the FIRST day.

  • Individualism is part of human nature!? Dreamz, I have been extreme in my interpretation of events. I admit that. I wrote to provoke. But, the colectivization process DID increase production. You may think what you want about USSR, but that fact you cannot take away. No one can.

  • Standard of living is not material in any civilization, excepting, of course, the corrupt US. Flatscreens, huge gazoline gussling cars, and extreme obesity among the populace should not, nay cannot, be indicators of a "happy bunch". Now, Stalin...maybe he did go over the top...just a tad, mind you.

  • Yes several million murdered in Gulags and famines is a tad by your estimation. The death of one person is a tragedy; the death of a million a statistic. Standard of living is indeed material how else do you explain the demand of soviet for western goods and western culture before the USSR collapse. Not only that but he USSR was in constant need of industrial and technical aid from the west right up to the fall of the USSR.

  • Mr Dreamz, there are several ways of seeing this. What you probably will never recognize is the corruption that capitalism brings with it. Far more people in the US suffer today, because of the lack of social security, than in former union of free soviets. In the corrupt state far to the west, people are interested only in making the rich people more rich. I agree with HK379 in that people working together for a larger purpose, than enriching themselves, are happier.

  • Corruption exists in capitalist countries as it exists in all systems. The difference is that in capitalist countries such corruption can be exposed and brought into the light; in the USSR it was concealed and bringing any corruption of government officials to light was met with death or prison just as Russian journalists are being murdered in Russia today.

  • Rubbish! The peasants in the Free Union of Soviets were a happy bunch! And, moreover, they were non-corrupt. That is more than can be said of the corroding union of states far far to the west. There can be no doubt that Stalin brought people together. Being together is the answer to swell production.

  • Rubbish. The free union of soviets never recognized anyone's freedom but treated humans as slaves as just another resource with individual rights or freedoms. There is no doubt that Stalin brought people together: the Siberian Gulags are a prime example of a happy bunch. So far the United States is far from corroding and the society is still on a better footing with a higher standard of living than Russia, by far.

  • Rubbish . Everyone was trully free in the soviet union ... the were not exploited by capitalist who make products onlly for profit , not for quallity ... Individualism is an enemy of the people ... its ego-centric and exploiting , and needs to be crushed ... Stalin is peoples hero .and libarator of Europe . The US is only what it is today , because of compeating with the USSR .

  • Rubbish. Individualism is a natural human condition, it is part of human nature. All ideas and man made creations are the products of individual minds, not collective herd minds or the party or the Big Brother leader. The USSR could not compete with the USA beacuse the system did not work. That is why it collapsed in 1991 beacuse it was an economic basket case.

  • Individualism is Exploiting Capitalist concept . and needs to be crushed ...

If I Fall , another will replace me . Big deal ,its just some fucking person, but the Ideas , they will live forever .

    LONG LIVE COMMUNISM !

  • If individualism is just an exploiting capitalist concept then how can you speak of civil rights or civil rights movements? Rights can only exist for individuals; anything else is just privilege.

  • That Utter bullshit , RIGHTS ARE FOR ALL .

They can onnly exist for all ... "Rights for Individuals " Thats Privilages . - an exploiting means for individuals , who exploit the people ..

  • The US is what it is today , because of the Soviet Union .... it there were no preasure from the USSR . The Civil Rights movement of The 60s would have never hapened ..

Every thing that The US is , is a result of competition with the Soviets ... From Space Program , to Worker`s Rights .

    You should be very Thankfull.

  • The civil rights movement in the United States was not caused by soviet pressure but by the individuals within the United States who pushed the movement to the mainstream in a climate where they could exercise their right to free speech and the free exchange of ideas. It was white America that abloshied segregation in the south just as it was white America that ran the underground railroad in the mid 19th century and white America finally did away with slavery.

  • The People of the Civil Rights movement was only alawd to have it , because of Soviet Presure ...

  • There was no soviet pressure. The civil rights movement was founded by Americans who adhered to the principles of individual freedom and were not racists. Furthermore, segregation in the deep south was also practiced among blacks themselves; not all blacks who lived in the south before the civil war were slaves; many were free. There were many free blacks who also owned black slaves before the civil war. Soviet pressure had nothing to do with the civil rights movement.

  • The collectivized farms were incredibly effective. In fact, so effective they had to stop producing food from time to time, according to the 5-year plan. Now, you might think 5-year plans are something uniquely communist. They are not. Even the corrupt USA had them. No, maybe not for production, but for many other things.

  • It was the private plots that contributed to the domestic agricultural market and domestic consumption, not the collective farm. Collective farms were so inefficent that most grain rotted in the cellars, open fields or was lost due to poor transport and storage.

  • The work ethic in the collective farms was always high and higher than the "privet " once , who practically did not exist ...

  • The work ethic in the collective farms existed only on TV and propaganda media. Apart from that it was a slave ethic: work for the good of the party. At other times they would spend time drinking vodka most of the day or tending to their own private plots which is where they actually worked and kept the product of their labor or traded in local markets. The pay in the collectuves was miserable and it was the women who did virtually all of the work on the plots

  • Dreamz, you do not know anything about this, do you? The communist ideals and ideas were not what made the sovietunion the target of collectivized western hatred. It was instead the leader, Stalin, who made this happen. Churchill saw that he was like Hitler, only not mad (and therefore even more dangerous).

  • That was for karjanmenoverteszi

  • See, this is why the soviet union fell: instead of working, they spent all fucking day singing.

  • I loved your comment about the russzkis spending all fucking day singing.

Láttam ezt a filmet 49-ben, "Vidám Vásár" volt a címe. Most 60év után igazán nevetséges a "búzahányást" látni, persze senki sem köhög a por miatt. I liked the songs in '49, but what the fuck does a 10 years old "úttörö" know? A magyarra fordított dalszövegek még elevenen élnek bennem: Hullámzó kubáni tenger, Virágzik a rózsa, Te büszke kozák, stb.

    Then in '56 we've shown the m-f*ck*rs.

  • You are an idiot ... the colectivization method was really productive ... The Soviet Union had 14 % growth when the US was in the Great Depresion ...

NO ONE WORKS HARDER , THAN A COMMUNIST ..

Because THE COMMUNIST DOES it BECAUSE OF THE WORK ITSELF , HE LOVES WORK ...

HE DONT DO IT JUST FOR THE MONEY , HE DOES IT , SO HE FEEL GOOD ABOUT IT .

  • So he feel good? Tell that to the victims of the famine in 1932-33. They felt good too working hard with no expectation of reward or compensation.

  • The Soviet Union had 14 % economy growth at that time ...

What are you taking about ... ? If its about the Sand-storm in Ukraine , that was a Natural Dissaster , it wasn`t a human error .

  • Sand storm? Are you saying that the 1932-33 famine was a natural disaster caused by drought, i.e sandstorm? Buddy with talk like that the only sandstorm brewing is the one between your ears eroding at whatever grey matter is left there.

  • The drought coused a gigant dust storm that covered tousends of vilages in the country side with a couple of meters of dust ... read about it it was considered the worsed natural dissaster in ages ..

  • Ohh no the owrking was done in the Siberian Gulags. The collectized land was poorly worked because there was no private ownership of property in a communist socialist state, hence no work ethic.

  • Thats not true , there were huge work ethic , exactly because there were no privet property , because everyone felt that all the land is theirs ...

and treated well the hole land as their own ...

they work the hole land like they work their own ... and thats why it was verry productive.

  • Work ethic only comes when the product of ones labor is compensated to the worker/producer. More agricultural work was done by peasants on their private garden plots; it was the private plots that fed the USSR, not the collective/state farms. The only land the peasants treated well was their garden plots. Feeling one thing and actually realizing it are two different things; when the collective farmer starved in 1933 realizing that he would not get paid for his work, the work ethic died.

  • Bullshit ... the colrective farms fed the USSR , there were no Privet , and if there were they were too small ...

  • The pesants treated the colective farm really well ... the starvation in Ukraine (1933) was caused by natural dissaster , a dust storm , it had nothing to do with colectivisation ..

  • There was no drought in Ukraine in 1933. The famine was brought about by high grain quotes imposed upon the peasants from Moscow. This happened in Kuban as well. As a result the farmers had no grain for personal consumption; punitive detachments were sent in to steal any food that was hidden in the houses of peasants. It was mass murder genocide and the soviet regime denied that it ever took place much less offer assistance to prevent hunger.

  • Bullshit ... you are an idiot ... READ SOME HISTORY ...

THERE are even movies who show the drought ... colectivisation HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT , even helped to lessen the results .

  • Sadly, it is you who is the poor brainwashed commie idiot who is in dire need of reading and enlightenment. There was no drought in 1932-33 and the collectivization quotas only took grain away from the peasantry and used as capital to fuel the rapid industrialization drive of the five year plan which led to famine. It never lessened the results.

  • Read some history , idiot there are even movies showing the drought ... from that time ....

houses had a meter and a half dust on top ...

everywhere was like that ... crop was devostated ...

colektivisation is actually what saved alot of people .. because they could use crops from other places .

  • haha. no. collectivization of agriculture directly led to millions of deaths by starvation. any historian with actual accreditation can tell you that. the only people using crops from other places were the elites within the party that spared no expense when it came to their own needs and wants.

  • haha . no . it propel us to the future .

all problems in communist societies, were coused by outside preasure .. not by the system .there is no really " elites " (especially in a western sence ). because they dont actually own anything ... its all state property and belongs to all .. they know that , and every one knows that ,people who steel from the people ,go to jail or labour camp .

there are elite -soldiers , elite - workers ..

meaning - good at what they do. but not elite`s as owners

  • any true historian (not a western branwashed one ) will tell you that .

  • Then how do you explain elite party schools? Elite dachas for the government elite? In the soviet days there were foreign currency stores where party elites could buy quality western goods for hard cash, something the average soviet citizen could not do but was even barred by law from doing.

  • well , everyone if they are smart , can go to good schools ...

the level of education , that was mendetory , was really high in all schools . Now they are all ways far away places , that a hard to reach ...but the soviets went their too... there were schools created for the eskimo people of the far north , there were no schools there at all before ...

    .

  • as far as the western shops go ...

    that was a mistake of De-Stalinisation ...

even thow , the stuff sold there were just small - personal goods (garbitch ) in my opinion . Not that i ever had or needed any .

It was a weird way to compensate for the lack of personal goods ...

but who needs small personal goods .

they are not important , we need to produce more steel per person , and electricity , Type A goods . not personal goods.

  • Also , In schools you advance , because of your knowledge .....

Now I can see that some officials , on high places might whant to push their kids in good schools , even thow their kids might be dummer than the rest ... but that hapened in the west too ... all the time .

And , in the west if you have no money , you can just forget about good schools .

the only reason , the west created Scholarships and son on ... was because of soviet preasure ...

  • If it wasn`t for Soviet Preasure ... the Civil Rights Movement of the 60`s USA . would have never happened ....

And not only that ... alot of social programs would have been non existent .

The west wouldn`t have a space program .

Soviet Presure , shaped the west for what it is today . they should be more thankfull of the Soviets .

  • The only Soviet pressure that existed was through the NKVD spy espionage apparatus and the 5th column pseudo intellectuals on the campuses of American universities. The fellow travellers who never lived in the USSR or experienced communism. The other pressure was through the beatnik counter-culture of the 1950s and early 1960s. That was the extent of Soviet pressure.

  • Well , not only that ... Soviet Preasure Shaped Western Society .... in almost all aspects of life ...

eather by compeating or countering the Soviet Union , the West became what it is today ...

And Now wen the USSR is no more , it has an identity crisis .

  • Also don`t forget senator MacCarthy`s purges .

and the general anti-Soviet histeria in the west ....

  • People in Soviet Union, China, Vietnam until they slowly destroyed faith in the party by taking it over (by bourgeoisie), people supported WITHOUT a breath their party, because their party was fullest expression of their voices. And even then they had toughest time to brake the land.

Its called socialist mentality, a mentality of new society, I'm pity that you never felt it... And still lean to the bourgeoisie propaganda into rejecting it on completely vague and fabricated bases

  • If you can't see billions of wailing people which lives are dictated by alleged Free Market concentration of production, trade and corruption, then I really pity your perception about humanity and its development.

You have probably never witnessed a real poor man with crushed spirit in your rich neighborhood, you don't even know what work is...

You see, I or ANY communist WOULDN'T be here IF YOU WERE RIGHT...

  • What Soviet Union are you referring too? Capitalist Soviet Union after 1950s, Khrushchev's liberalization policies?

Natural Rights, HA! Only one close to the point of true meaning of 'natural right' was Jean Jack Russo.

And that's why today most modern philosophy is Dialectical - Materialism. 'Personality cult' is ONLY an secondary EFFECT of the natural personalization of the ideas that those people stand for. Its something scum like capitalists and criminals could only dream of...

  • You mean Jean Jacques Rousseau!! Modern Dialectical Materialism was formulated by Hegel which Marx relied on. Capitalists do not dream of the personality cult; communists and totalitarians do. Look at the posters and statues of Lenin that dot the countryside and Stalin at one time. Lenin Zhyl, Lenin Zhyvet, Lenin budet' Zhit' is a typical personality cult slogan where ideas are personified.

  • Lad, you REALLY need to finish your formal education before you state such disgusting nonsense. I can bet in anything you want that you haven't READ Hegel, Marx or Feuerbach. Because then you would know that Hegel was dialectical idealist, while Feuerbach was 'Stationary'-raw Materialist.

  • What historians? Historians that till day before they became that, working with MI6 in the black propaganda-manufacturing section, like Robert Conquest? Is that good actual accreditation?

Among young and middle aged in Russia, even with pressure of all kind of propaganda and manipulation, they still look at Stalin as a true hero worthy of them... (Old people just go crazy concerning Stalin, that even proves my point further) .

You just need to see those accusers, what are they hiding!

  • Outside pressure? After the iron curtain came down the only pressure on eastern Europe was from the Soviet Union, because to have direct contact with the west put you in danger. In Russia they look at him as a hero, BECAUSE of the propaganda and manipulation. There was so little actual information anywhere in the USSR because of no freedom of press, that people started to believe they were better off starving than working for wages.

  • Outside pressure when communists were in power. Not after late 40s to the 90s. If you would recall Stalin (and all he represented: Lenin, communist USSR...) was under pressure from propaganda soon after his death. It is only logical that so many people hate him today with unfounded facts, like they are.

Its too pity that you never lived then, or known someone who did, from the beginning. So that you resolve into spewing slander you heard in school or on TV... like a good parrot.

  • Good, but not quite as stirring as "Glorious Hymn of the Kazakh Beet Collective" - now that's a toetapper!

  • I have never heard that one. Where can I listen to that song? Is it on YouTube?

  • pieprzona komunistyczna propaganda. Zboże na Zachód jechało a ludzie w ZSRR z głodu umierali. Kolektywizacja 1929-32 10 MILIONÓW Ukraińców zmarłych z głodu. Tfu... bolszewickie kurwy!

  • I guess, they had to act so happily and joyfull or their family would have been sent into a lead- or uranium-mine somewhere in Siberia.

  • Strange. Only 16 years before the making of this film this field that you see in the video and many others were filled with corpses from the Stalinist famine caused by expropriation of private property and high grain quotas. Many Kuban Cossacks resisted, many were deported and millions starved to death.

  • I'm not afraid to agree that this video is very funny. And no, not because I'm laughing at Russians or because I'm ignorant (*roll eyes at everyone being way too serious*) but because it is a film from 1949 that is clearly dated and from a different age when a film like this made sense. Cultural icons of an earlier era often strike future generations as funny. Picture a similar type of film made for a modern audience and the reception it would receive.

  • It glorifies socialist collective labor. Typical soviet propaganda film.

  • This footage is off the hook!

  • ahahah who said I was poking fun at you? I have never said anything disrespectful towards Russians in my life, nor have I ever heard anyone say anything either. I'm laughing cause their getting so much fun out of harvesting wheat.

  • Getting fun out of it is better than moaning about the drudgery. Idea is that if U do hard work with friends/comrades, that makes the work less hard (psychologically). And doing this stuff collectively and singing about it kept the USSR people happy, which helped stave off revolution against the brutal, fossilised state bureaucracy

  • Ha! Yeah, I bet all the farmers in Soviet Russian were dancing and singing in the fields about how much fun it was to partake in hard manual labor every day. We did that here in America too! We LOVE hard labor! :) It would be just as funny no matter WHAT country it was from. People can have great attitudes about their work but this is just silly. "Whee! I'm exhausted, my muscles hurt, and my hands are covered with callouses! Yay! my back hurts every night from a day working in the fields!"

  • awesome, it was about time someone uploaded this

  • subtitles?

  • ahahah I don't know why I find this so hilarious. ahahaha

  • Maybe coz you're stupid. Did I guess right? I bet I did. If not, go and make a movie about peasants of Saskatchewan and let's see if it'll ever be as popular in Canada as "Cossacks of the Cuban" was in the Soviet Union.
