@superchuchas the thing about any bass is that you CAN play them without an amp, but it's pretty quiet. Even acoustic basses are kinda quiet. So, yes you can play them without an amp, you should be able to hear it but if, let's say, you wanted to show your mom the new bassline you made up she probably couldn't hear it.
