@Yellyist Yes but George Harrison wrote Something , which Frank Sinatra erroneously called the greatest 'Lennon McCartney composition, Think for yourself (which has a devastatingly deep and fuzzy bass) , If I needed someone (very in tune with what the Byrds ended up doing around the same time) , Blue Jay Way (a brilliantly hauntingly beautiful song that has sadly proved not to everyone's tastes), While my guitar gently weeps etc.. Harrison was at least as much a genius as McCartney for sure.

@Yellyist OK- Ive looked through McCartney's contrbutions and I could also create a list just of his Beatles songs - as my favourite 10, I'd probably pick Paperback Writer, Sergeant Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, With a little help from my friends (for Joe Cocker's version), Magical Mystery Tour, Hello Goodbye, Your mother should know, When I'm 64, Back in the USSR, Martha my dear, Oh Darling. I don't especially dig his sentimental anthems.

@Picnicl I like all the songs you mentioned. "Your mother should know" is not on many peoples list, but i like that too. "Back in the USSR" is one of his classics, i forgot to mention that on my list, but that`s a great track. On George, i like his first solo album. I think that`s great. "Run of the mill" "The ballad of Sir Frankie Crisp" "My sweet lord" are all great tracks, and would have been highlights if they had been recorded with the Beatles. "Here comes the sun" is a great beatles track
