  • Saw them at the Christall Palace, Bournemouth, Dorset, England. It was fab. 1972.

  • One of the unsung heroes/ pioneers of Music

  • Saw them at Aberdeen University Union in 1974. Fantastic concert. Rushed out and bought the first two albums. Got the posters of the Roger Dean covers on my wall, and badgered the record shop for the poster advert for "Spyglass Guest" when that came out. Saw ELP in Dundee a year or so earlier and Genesis doing "The Lamb" in Edinburgh not long after. Happy days :-)

  • The bass stuff after 2 minutes ca is great! Experimenterial music with so much cleverness! I which I have been born a little earlier than -62!

  • @piomir yes indeed, is it Tony Reeves? He is a superb bass player

  • great.........................

  • Dear oh dear, memories of The Greyhound in Croydon where they seemed to play each week! And of Time and Tide with the album cover corner chopped off. I think that meant it was some kind of illegal import bought from a bloke in kaftan outside!

  • I'm called James Greenslade :D :P

  • brilliant track.first heard this on radio caroline in the mid 70s.had to buy the album.one of my all time favorites.

  • they can gig at my place 24-7

  • It's from our second to last live tour I guess about 7 years or so ago...best regards john young ( the other keys and vox:-)

  • When is this clip from?

Any chance of seeing Greenslade live these days.

    Allways loved them.

  • while good Greensalde did not have the musical ambition that those behind Yes & Genesis did. Key word there is AMBITION maybe.

  • I think you've got a point there, although I'd also say maybe they lacked the VISION of Genesis and Yes. I always felt that with all that talent they were a bit underachieving. Saw them live in 2002 and the musicianship is second to none-bassist Tony Reeves in particular deserves a lot more recognision.

  • Yeh- it is a shame that there seems to be little of the musicianship shown on the current circuit.

Its not for looking nor is it nostalgia talking ( I think).

Greenslade did do a bit more in other fields like TV I guess.

  • Maybe the lacked a front man? No frontman, no guitarplayer, just two obscure guys hiding behing the keys. A person with charisma up front means a lot. Musically they were good enough.

  • @mythoughtfulchannel With respect I say forget the ambition angle....they played musicians' "clever-dickery" music & NOT populist dross. Regrettably it's ALWAYS been the same:~ 3 chord tricks sell! Even Beethoven learned that! Forget quality if you wanna get rich. It's not that the public ARE fickle, it's that they KNOW fick-all & just want a tune they can hum! I've been a musopro most of my life & I've NEVER found reason to disagree with the foregoing totally UN- original observation!!

  • I remember my French teacher Miss Ellis loaning me the album back in 1983, thought it was great but couldn't understand how they never made it when people like genesis and yes did???

  • Has a real Mediterranean flavor to it, doesn't it?

  • Nice to hear this. Recently bought a mint 'Time and Tide' on vinyl. Are they still playing? Great sound.

  • The soundtrack of my teenage exams.... brilliant.

  • Oh I wish they would tour again. Marvellous stuff

  • If anyone can arrange gigs for them I am sure they would tour again.

  • Maravilhoso!!!!!!!!!!!!
