  • "Yer gonna want to install yer chain,"

  • How'd u get the chain into the derailleur??? Magic r wot

  • "Yer gonna want to install yer chain," and POOF! It's installed? I want my two minutes back.

  • How do you attach it to an aero frame? my seat-tube has a brazed/welded on tab that has a vertical slot???

  • Sprocket! Now is when we dance mein SPROCKETS!!!!!!

  • What gear should the front shifter be in at time of cable assembly?

  • Dude sounds like Ed Grimly

  • At the end part, is the chain supposed to be close to the inner or outer plate of the deraileur? How close?

  • Another how to video with annoying music. It's how-to, not entertainment. Figure out the difference between the two.

  • what a useless video

  • i broke my front derailur guide, how can i replace it?

  • I have just bought a sora groupset and realised how little I know about bike parts! The sora front derailleur has nothing to attach it to the seat post is this another item I have to purchase separately?

  • Thanks. looks like the white to black version of '00 m80. got the blue to black =D

  • not the best video, camera angle could be changed more for better view.

  • thanks a lot, I just adjusted mine :)

  • thank you for the Awesome tutorial! I was pulling my hair out trying to get my derailleur adjusted properly.

  • @puck4877 NP and thanks for the comment!

  • the chain is still touching the sides of the derailleur :(( on the second sprocket:((

  • @emilianus12 Are your chain rings new or old, because they might be bent which would cause a problem.

  • Thanks so much! I was in a mess, there was a sound from my FD touching the chain, so I tried adjusting limiting screws and screwed up the whole thing.

Then I watched your video, loosened everything and set up the derailler from scratch. It's working better than it was when it was new, and I now know a little bit more about my bike. :)

    Cheers!

  • @htedum NP and well done!

  • Cesur - Shift Guide - Gerade Kettenlinie

  • ummm when i install the shifter cable, has it got to ve very tense, or loose???because then i can't shift the gears to the largest chainring :S please help

  • The shifter cable must be tight, not extremely but no slack and make sure when your attaching it that the shifter is in the correct gear.

  • @spadoutDOTcom i have it like that but my FD wont even shift (I start at the lowest of gears and it wont shift up)

  • @55movie55 i think your cable is too loose.

  • Thanks for this dude, i done it on my own bike and it works!

  • Thanks a lot man!!

  • NP!

  • man what a great video thanks man.Its crazy how many techs charge you arm and leg for a simple turn and tell you that your bike will be ready in a week lol.

  • Thank God you posted this video, I installed thumb shifter on my bike but I was having problems with the front derailleur. After I followed most of the steps as I could it finally started to shift right.

  • Great! Let us know if you have any follow up questions.

  • No problem. Thanks for the feedback.

  • Nice video - but how shall I bring the chain into the derailleur??

  • Well just start at the bottom of the rear derailleur and just follow the path so it is tensioned against the rollers.

  • That's easy.....

But, Sie brauchen einen Ketten-Nieter, den bekommt man im Fachhandel für Räder. Damit kann man die Kette an jeder Stelle auseinander und wieder zusammen machen. Preis ca. 9-11EUR

  • Or you can open the derailleur cage screw and remove the derailleur with a joint chain

  • you will need a chain rivet tool to open out your chain, then put it through, then use the tool to re connect the chain. All you need is a chain rivet tool, really cheap £3 (uk)

  • some things you left out or could have expanded on were.

    1) how much tension on the cable.

    2) what is the largest gear

other then that it is great.

  • thanks, this is a good video. i had problems with the other videos because some idiot is always in front of what hes doing. definitely the best video to follow if your installing a front derailleur.

  • NP and thanks for the feedback.

  • This is very useful, watched it yesterday and now have my new derailleur installed.
