@Ameer18 1) Libyans have the right to self determination. My issue is the use of force prior to the use of Diplomacy. We should have tried diplomacy first: Here is the list of countries we have created terrible internal strife in due to our arrogance since 1970: Guatemala, El Salvador, Chile, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, South Africa (support of apartheid), Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Iraq, Iran (support for shah), and now Libya, Go to Beni Walid, Sirte, Tawergha, Sabha, Abu Salim.

I do agree with your opinions. If some people who torture and lynch prisoners get named DEMOCRATIC REBELS- or implicitly even 'WINNERS' - and some others who do the same are declared TERRORISTS or ORDINARY FILTHY ARABS, and the only visible criterion for classification between those 2 groups is: Are they compliant with our economic interests or not? In UK media, Gadaffi was only ever referred to as a "Despot, Brutal Tyrant, Mad Dog" etc. He lived in a "Lair", or a "Compound" , or a "Lavish Palace". He "opressed and attacked his own people", "tortured and killed thousands", lived a "Rich lifestyle whilst his people lived in poverty" blah blah blah. All part of demonizing him and his family before destroying them. 1984 is here now.
