Hey Rob, nice video of that Tucano, I know that they are available from Nitroplanes, HK, Seagull & ESM. But from where is that one from? I saw 2 of them fly recently here in S.Fla but they had Turbo Prop engines w/3 blade props. If I get one of these for next year it will w/elect motor.
@SuperHIvolt : The ones with Turboprops in them are usually the 110" wing span ones. Very expensive. I've seen the 60 size ones with electric motors. This kit is 85" wingspan, fiberglass fuse, foam core balsa sheeted wings. Im told it was from precisionlasercut then covered, painted etc. Not for sure though. The closest one I've seen that looks and is right size is the one from HobbyKing. No matter where it came from, I love it. Looks and sound awesome! Thanks man... ~~Robert.
@mtwargo : Thanks Mike! Thanks for watching and taking time to comment as well. Anytime you want to fly her, let me know.... I'll break out the buddy box cord for you! LOL!! ~~Robert.
Beautiful!!! Where's this kit from??? Was it your project or you bought it? I'd love to have one in Brazilian "Esquadrilha da Fumaça" collors! Thank you!
@aerohobby : I bought this kit from a buddy of mine at the field. We believe it's a precisionlazercut kit, but havent verified it yet. I did see on HobbyKings website they have one just like this. So they may be distributing this kit now as an ARF. Thanks for watching and commenting! ~~Robert.
@mreid08 : I miss the hardtop. I do love the grass though for helping to slow the planes down once touchdown occurs. But I would gladly go back to the old RC World and the Hardtop runway for sure. Thanks! ~~Robert.
@yankphan100 : I could see buddy boxing someone on this. But wouldnt trust the landing to anyone without lots of experience. With all my planes and years under my belt, it took 3 bumps of the throttle to lift again to find a suitable speed the plane felt good at. The last bump of throttle in the video, was because it felt like it was dropping and about to tip stall. Thanks for awesome comment! ~~Robert.
@roastedghost : Very easy to see in the air. no problems there. Thanks again! If I had the room, I'd be at 145! I try not to think about those 45 that I no longer have. :) ~~Robert.
@bloodhound122 : Thanks man. I am really happy I picked this one up. And even happier I didnt have to build it! I heard because this was a kit, the build was a real headache, months waiting on the custom retracts etc. Flys so smooth too! Dont know why I was ever nervous at take off. LOL... ~~Robert.
Very nice, but did you think about to convert it to a Brushless setup ? You will have a much better Turbo-prop sound. We have several club members using Scorpion motors, the sound is great....anyway, its a beautiful Tucano ;)
@marinjeam : No actually. One of the things I loved about this model was that the owner put a 30cc Gas engine in it. I honestly wasnt looking for a turboprop sound out of it, instead the rumble I get. With that said, This is a great model to put an actual turbo prop system in it though! Im ready to go turbine, just trying to make up my mind on which plane to do, setup, etc. Thanks for great comment! ~~Robert.
I have the 40 size and my maiden it went down, mine seemed under powered or tail heavy.manual balance check showed nose heavey a bit with no fuel.fixable thou try again spring, nice plane you have.
@7jsm7 : I am back to 100 aircraft again. I was up to 145 awhile back, traded a bunch, sold a few, dropped below 100, but am climbing up in count again! LOL.. It breaks down to 9 helicopters, and 91 planes. Great question, thanks! You can see my inventory on my website. Link is in the description. ~~Robert
@steveshlacker : To be honest, they sound even more wicked in person! Its one of the things I love about the gas engines. I can get some nice rumbles from different engines and muffler systems. Thanks for great comment! ~~Robert.
@TheDaveyht3 : I havent verified 100% the information I received on the kit, but Im told it's from PrecisionCutKits and then custom painted and covered. I will tell you though, I found a replica of my model on HobbyKing. Looks Identical to mine, so Im trying to verify from the original owner, just awaiting an email. Great question, one I knew I would get before I had the verified answer. ~~Robert.
Muito bonito o Tucano, tenho a planta para construir porem ainda me falta tempo. Parabéns, bela construção.
