  • relegion we have today. If you bring up the crusades as being hypocritical and warlike you're right..I don't agree with the crusades. so please don't go there. Are there fringe groups of people who call themselves 'christian's but act warlike ...yes..and they're deluded too. It's why you really need to stick to exactly what the Word teaches and 'test the spirits'. Allah is a demon ... sad how so many are deluded worshipping a demon.

  • Muslims are sincere but sincerely wrong. There is only one God and one Christ and the Holy Spirit. All other relegions worship a false god or demons. Muslims worship a demon who calls himself 'Alla'. Mohammed met a demon who lied to him. John has this completely right. And "Truth" is not a relegion...that's a weird statement to make. Muslims are wrong ... but it doesn't mean to treat them badly or hate them either. Although you have to admit their relegion is the most warlike

  • Anti-religious bigotry is poisonous to any civilized culture. Those who uncritically absorb the "it is written" of Harris, Dawkins, (and anyone else making a buck from h8 :-) fail miserably to distinguish between the terrorist who straps a bomb on himself, and a Methodist, Baptist, Jewish, Mormon, etc. in the neighborhood who is in all likelihood not plotting destruction, enslavement, mutilation, corpse dragging, and baby eating festivals in sleepy towns across America.

  • You can pray with whoever you want to. It won't make any difference anyway. Prayer has been proven, even by christian organisations, to be completely ineffective, in some cases, even damaging.

Some theological schools of thought even consider prayer to be arrogant and even blasphemous.

At it's best, praying is just a way that ineffective people can do something completely useless, but feel they are really making a difference.

The only effect of prayer is to make the praying person feel better.

  • @Darwinsman if you don't believe why do you care?

  • @homelesspoet 1/3. Why do I do it?

I think that Richard Dawkins summed it up very well:

"Many of us saw religion as harmless nonsense. Beliefs might lack all supporting evidence but, we thought, if people needed a crutch for consolation, where's the harm? September 11th changed all that."

Of course I’ve been told that Christians would never do anything like that and they really believe it.

Unfortunately, history has proved many times, that not to be the case. Cont’d.

  • @homelesspoet 2/3. You only have to examine the beliefs, teachings and aims of some of the fundamentalist preachers to see the influence they are constantly trying to wield over civil legislation and education, to realise that control and oppression by them is bubbling just underneath the surface and given the chance, they'd have us back in the theocratic dark ages.

It's only our secular laws that hold these people in check, but they never stop their attack against them. Cont’d.

  • @homelesspoet 3/3. This is why we must challenge them at every opportunity. I think it was a great American leader who said that the price of true freedom is constant vigilance. With the growth of fundamentalist religious groupings, of all persuasions, all over the world today, that has never been more true.

We let the religious fundamentalists take over our lives again at our peril.

  • @Darwinsman and if Richard Dawkins(or a great number of athiests) had control without limits then we would see christian death camps all over the world.

  • @homelesspoet If that's what you believe, that says more about you than atheists.

Also, history says that is most unlikely. It has been estimated that throughout the last 2,000 yrs, over 17 million people have been slaughtered directly in the name of god and and that's not including all the Old Testament slaughtering, either by god, in his name or at his command.

Even though Atheists have also murdered large numbers of people. None have been killed directly in the name of atheism.

  • if the hadiths of aisha were correct then islam agreed about the premature marriage of girls . thus islam gives solution to the problems of sinful prematrimonial sex & premature pregnancies which occure today in the world . also western girls r permitted 2 have sex with boyfriends , the thing which islam punishes 4 . arabs used to burry their new born girls 4 fear of scandals & shame , only prophet muhammad prohibitted it to them showing them that a young girl can be a good wife .

  • The trinity and Paulianity are investions that Jesus didn't endorse.

What makes you thnk it is correct?

It also violates the very first commandment.

Serving other than God is what God hates most - I would be careful and thnk deeply if I were you [yes you can smile sweetly and tell me I don't understand] but let it be clear that I serve God alone.

  • @ChistianWarriorUSA

I'm sorry to tell you bur armenius is wright. If you'd read the history of the christian church you'd see that most of fests are nothing more but "baptized" pagan fests and most saints are "baptized" pagan dieties. If you want to know how to serve God then go to His Word, the Bible. God be with you.

  • Allah and Jesus are not the same. Not at all.

Jesus is the only God. :)

  • @BritneyAddicted4EVA

'Allah and Jesus are not the same.'

Correct - Allah is a semitic word - similar to Eloi that Jesus calls out to.

It breaks down to Al[The]-Ilah[God] in other words Allah = The God [literal translation]

Jesus was sent by God - which is why Jesus prayed to God - Eloi Eloi why have you forsaken me.

If those are Jesus' words, and Jesus says the one who sent me is greater - then how can Jesus be God?#

    .

    Worship God not Jesus folks.

. First commandment and Mark 12:28.

  • @vicachcoup Jesus is God. Allah is not, history records Allah as a moon god worshiped by pagan tribes. It doesn't matter if someone came up with a name that translates to God one million times. Google it and you'll see the difference between Jesus and Allah. Koran contradicts the Bible one million times and sometimes even proclaims it to be an enemy.

Worship Jesus folks. He said that if we know Him, we know the Father. Therefore worshiping Jesus we worship the Father.

  • @BritneyAddicted4EVA

'Allah is not, history records Allah as a moon god worshiped by pagan tribes. It doesn't matter if someone came up with a name that translates to God one million times'

    .

Yikes - not sure where you get your info from.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter - worship who you will - life goes by quickly - then you find out if you were right or wrong.

  • @vicachcoup I am not playing games. Christianity is not "hope that God won't leave you". Faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not yet seen. I thank God that I found out about that because it helped me become more confident in Jesus. He does not say "if you believe in Me you might get saved". If you believe in the name of the Lord you will be saved. He is the biggest treasure and the more I walk with Him the more I know that only He can satisfy.

    Blessings!

  • do you know that older translations of the bible frequently refer to god as allah? abba, allah, jehovah, yahweh, lord, his names go on.

The truth is hard to find sometimes. People will disagree on it. However if an honest muslim and an honest christian get together, and agree that the human soul is beautiful, and agree that there is a just creator, then are they not both praying to something real? even if one of them got some details wrong?

  • @NoTrueFace1 Hello sir! I hope this helps! The problem is that Christians and Muslims worship different gods. Christians worship a man named Jesus as well as the Holy Spirit and the Father. All as one God. Muslims just worship their version of God. Since praying is talking to God, they're completely talking to a different entity. Christians believe they worship an idol or false God inspired by demons and vice versa.

  • @Marvive42

bah. nonsense. If a man with an honest heart prays to what he thinks is the god of good, then those prayers are heard by that god even if he gets a feel details on god's nature wrong.

  • after 23 seconds i found out that piper isn't a man of god thats for sure

  • @armenius28 What makes you say that????

He proclaims that Jesus is the only way, Jesus said that about himself.

Unbelief in the one true God is a sin. You are deceived if you think you can be saved by any other name other than JESUS

  • @maidenshazza Because i'm pretty sure that god gives a shit, who you praying to...god or allah...because in the end..THEY ARE BOTH THE SAME.Did you read the Quran? Its almost identical to the bible.Allah is no other god, allah is the same god only in a different culture,a culture that came from god/allah.So yes!!!..they are a common creator..they are the SAME.So a christian and moslim praying together in 1 room to the common creator??..God would love that,i can promise you...

  • @armenius28 No, they are not. The Quaran is is not truth. It specifically says in the Bible "I am the way, the truth and the life. None get through the father except through me"

  • @xDSlimz ehm yeah...but the bible is written 300 years before the quran....You get my point.

  • @armenius28 I am just saying, that since the bible says this, It is denying any other religion cannot be correct because jesus is the only way. If this wasnt true, then the bible wouldnt be true, so it would have to be wrong

  • @xDSlimz Yeah...that was stated 3000 years before the quran.....Maybe God realized that his religion was used in a wrong manner. And that would not be strange...since the 300 years after Jesus his death where pretty turbolent years. In my opinon with the quran god tryed to fix his mistakes...better said our mistakes.peace

  • @armenius28 I am sorry, but that is blatantly wrong. God did not make any mistakes, and the Quran is not truth. Only the word of GOD is truth. No false teachings. And to further question your belief, why would God put in a book that "fixes his mistake" that non-muslims are infidels?

  • @xDSlimz Oh srry ...i chose the the wrong words.God didn't make any mistakes, but the humans who where twisted by the bloodline of cain. And btw...the vatican and the catholic church are more satanic then my metalcafe right around the corner.

Even christmas is blasphemy at the highest degree...just look it up pls.

Actually 80% of all catholic hollydays are pagan ones lolz.....

  • @armenius28 I'm a Catholic. If 80% of my holidays were pagan, we'd be venerating pagan deities. But we're not. The Church is the Bride of Our God and Savior Christ Jesus.

  • @ChristianWarriorUSA Learn your facts first before commenting others.

Christmas=In ancient Babylon, the feast of the Son of Isis (Goddess of Nature) was celebrated on December 25. Raucous partying, gluttonous eating and drinking, and gift-giving were traditions of this feast.

In Rome, the Winter Solstice was celebrated many years before the birth of Christ. The Romans called their winter holiday Saturnalia, honoring Saturn, the God of Agriculture. In January.

Shall i proceed to the other days??

  • @armenius28 There was also veneration of the Sol Invictus, the Unconquerable Sun, as well as Yule, a northern European holiday. However, the Romans are not accused of having a Babylonian holiday, nor are the Germans accused of having a Roman holiday. Sure they share the same date, but only one celebrates the birth of God the Son, and that is Christmas.

  • Did alah shed he's blood for our sins no no man in another religion has done so

  • Having people like this in the world worries me. i understand he is expressing his honest opinion for what he believes, BUT religion is nothing but a contrived farce invented by man to explain the unknown. I find that his views on people are held back by what he has been forced to believe in. This truly worries me and i hope that someday religion along with superstition and other unprovable, unfounded, incoherent and ridiculous beliefs have no influence on out lives.

  • @orca464 John Piper is not promoting any religion here get that straight! Religion is a man made thing YES however Piper is talking about "Christianity" or also simply believing and following Jesus Christ nothing more! And yes there is evidence that Jesus Christ did exist outside of the Bible. There are History Records and plenty of evidence that has nothing to do with "religion" which confirms that Jesus existed, therefore I also believe that his teachings (Jesus's) in the bible are also true!

  • @carlos25154 Who said anything about promoting religion? I love how reading your comment you seem to think that Christianity is something other than a religion and it is indeed 100% true. please provide me with a single shred of evidence that Jesus even existed and wasn't sighted as forgery by the Vatican such a Josephus. You will have a very hard time finding any because it doesn't exist. Problem is your religion has no more truth in it than Odin or Allah.

  • @orca464 I don't know what sort of evidence you would want to see. We love Jesus so much, so we keep all historical record about him. Especially records from the people closest to him, we put in a library called the Bible. If there had been any other writing about him, we would have kept too. And you reject any record that we have, so I guess the only way to persuade you is to make a time machine and send you back in time.

  • @thnguyen24 Well we could start with something that could be confirmed with other things. a time machine would most certainly prove his existence because you could meet him. shame we don't have one. however i have a feeling that it would disprove him.

Besides that what other historical record is there of Jesus besides the Bible Qur'an and Torah?

  • Islamic texts regard Jesus as a righteous messenger of God, and reject him as being God or the begotten Son of God. This belief, that Jesus is God or Son of God according to Islam, is tantamount to shirk, or the association of partners with God; and thereby a rejection of God's divine oneness (tawhid).[27]

  • The Qur'an describes virginal conception of Jesus by Mary (Arabic: Maryam), which is recounted throughout several passages in the Qur'an. According to the Qur'anic narrations, Mary had withdrawn into a temple and was visited by angel Gabriel (Arabic: Jibreel) to give the glad tidings of a holy son.[8]

  • Qur'an states that God (Allah) sent the message through the angel Gabriel to Mary that God had honoured Mary among the women of all nations as she will give birth to a holy son, named Isa' (Jesus),

  • the Messiah (translated Christ) and he (Jesus) will be a great prophet, to whom God will give the Injil (the original Gospel) and he (Jesus) will speak in infancy and maturity and will be a companion to the most righteous. When this good news was given to Mary, she asked the angel how she can have a baby when no man has touched (sexually) her.[9] This same question of Mary is confirmed in the Bible. But, in the answer of this question, the Qur'an differs from the Christian faith;

  • the Christians believe that the Holy Spirit impregnated Mary, but the Qur'an denies it and states that the reply of the angel to Mary was "Even though when God wants to create a matter, he merely wills it and the things come into being"[10]. So, the Qur'anic version is, Jesus was created from the act of God's will.[11] The Qur'an compares this miraculous creation of Jesus with the creation of Adam where God created Adam by His act of will (kun-fa-yakun [be and it is]).

  • @TheAKYUZ Wow! Thank you for that information. Respectfully, I am a Christian but I always wanted to ask a true Muslim a few questions, if you don't mind. 1.) Is Jesus a Jew in the Qur'an? 2.) What was the central message of Jesus' original gospel?

  • I don't see a problem with two people talking to their imaginary friend at the same time.... People actually think their imaginary friend exists??? What is wrong with people?

  • @tempemonkey2323 well my "imaginary friend" has a book of his own and has scientific info on his book. My "imaginary friend" is a friend of millions of other people. My "imaginary friend" has many buildings of his own in each city. My "imaginary friend" has affected the world since the beggining up to now. What does your imaginary friend do?

  • @flamer41 Your imaginary friend sounds like it could be one of a hundred gods throughout history. Sorry, I don't have imaginary friends.

I contend we are both atheists, I just believe in one less god than you do. Once you understand why you reject all the other possible gods, then you will under stand why I reject yours.

  • @tempemonkey2323 the reason why i reject other Gods except mine becuase thier religion is dead. one way to know if a God is fake is if its not popular. Why would God let his religion fade? My God says " My words will not pass away" and it never has.

  • @tempemonkey2323 Your religion is nothing special.... Get over it.

  • Jesus is the only way! You have spoken well once again Dr. Piper!

  • Sounds funny after you know the truth.

    God Bless EVERYBODY

  • what?

  • In the USA a man has a freedom to beliefs. Dr Piper is not spreading hate. He is giving a honest answer to what he believes. He is not advocating separateness but simply stating the obvious differences in various religious beliefs. Contrary to Dr Piper's messages Your comments r offensive. Anonymity is no excuse to make unwarranted statements ur not prepared to stand behind in person.

  • Amen!

  • Islam tells u 2 read the Bible so they must believe its a "good" book. but its only a good book if its true. for if its not true and tells you how to spend every waking moment of your life and how 2 gain eternal life and is steering u down the wrong path, it is a bad book and shouldnt be endorsed. but it is endorsed so we will assume its true...

that said. Jesus didn't say he couldn't stand in the way of God.neither did God. He said I am THE WAY and no one comes to the Father except through me.

  • we arent spreading hate, the gospel is God which is LOVE! therefore, since we preach the gospel, we are spreading love!

  • There is NO religion higher than "Truth"!

  • Ahumduillah

  • well truth not a religion

  • @Bepkloos Which is Islam.
