I just looked up this story. 1 man had just escaped from prison medical; the other helped him. The handcuffs (and shackles) on the back seat were from his escape. Chestnut was shot w/ the gun the men took during the escape. An APD was issued state-wide, but had not reached this part of the state. Chestnut did not know that an escape had taken place. He barely escaped this w/ his life, shot 5 times. He gunned his car backward to escape the gunman.
