I'm going to enjoy this song as much as I can before my DVD arrives tomorrow and the song becomes permanently associated with whatever horrors Lynch has in store for me.
@goodvibesallround You aren't "good vibes all around." You're a fucking sad pathetic coont. Suck an infested cock you faggot. IN DREAMS, I WALK WITH YOU, IN DREAMS, I TALK TO YOU. IN DREAMS, YOU'RE MINE, ALL OF THE TIME. FOREVER, IN DREAMS.
Remember the scene like yesterday. Isabella Rosselini came out in that sultry blue dress and sang this song. I love this song, and the movie Blue Velvet. R.I.P. Dennis!
You are no doubt familiar with Gresham's Law of Money: Cheap money will always drive out the dear money. He would have had a similar response about r&r had he ever been forced to endure it. -- Pete
In our high school days in the 50's we had a small dance band -- pre that ugly rock and roll stuff -- which we named "The Blue Velvets". I'll let you guess what our theme song was. This brings back great memories.
i wore a blue velvet vintage dress and hairstyle last night at our prom in the plaza hotel in los angeles.. :) it was a masquerade and needless to say my boyfriend of a yr loved my dress.. such an amazing night <3 viva the classics
This is without one the most haunting beautiful Love songs about a lost Love, we will always have those memories for the rest of our lives for comfort
Did you grew up with this song since you were a kid too? Me as well since i was 5 when i listened to my mom's cassettes and got myself a copy of Vinton's hits.
Gotta love youtube for recommending this to me because I watched "Powermad - Slaughterhouse". This is not exactly my kind of music, although I do remember it well enough.

@monkeyboxcomedy Down with disco. Frank Zappa was a damn good humorist who wrote a song about disco in his Zoot Allures called: "DISCO BOY".
Disco Boy....Run to the toilet bowl and comb your hair.
Disco Boy...Pucker your lip, and check your shoulder, 'cause some dandruff might be hiding there.
Disco Boy you're the Disco King of the disco scene:Disco Girl you're outtasight, you need a Disco Boy to treat you right. Leave his hair alone, but you can kiss his comb!.......
can anyone tell me if there was an advert around 1990 with this song in as i am sure my daughter - who is now 22 used to sing it when she was little??? anne
Music taste is based on opinion. Lucky for me i am able to enjoy so many types of music. Today alone ive listened to: hendrix joe cocker jefferson airplane elvis souljaboy akon nirvana dean martin and now now bobby vinton Too bad alot of people can not do that, they dont know what they are missing out on! I guess im just lucky that way.
The "Exorcist" had just come out in Toronto and one friday night we went down to Yonge St to see it....but there was a line up 4 blocks long outside the Uptown theatre....so instead we grudgingly went to see this other movie that we'd never heard of but which had also just come out called "American Graffitti"! I've seen it maybe 15 since then and its youthful vitality is still so funny, evocative and bittersweet!
"But in my heart there'll always be, precious and warm a memory ..."
This is now making me think of the Toy Story films. I saw the third one yesterday at the cinema. They're about growing up and moving on, which is especially sad for toys since the child they belong to is all they exist for. It's unhealthy for a human to devote their lives to just one person and have 'owners' due to the complexity of their needs, but for toys ... that's what they were made for.

one of the main reasons I think why music used to be better overall, was that songs had a pleasant, warm feel to them, and yet managed to swing.
Nothing hostile or disturbing autotuned sounds, like most of those gangster rap, techno kind of shit does have nowadays.
