@V8Supercar1 Again you don't know the meaning of handling. What do you think the word means? It's all about control and feel, not simply how well the tyres hold the road. Once you run out of grip that's where the handling comes into it. Setting fast laps is useless if the car is too hard to drive.
The McLaren F1 was totally bespoke and it had the chassis to compensate for the lack of driver aids. The Aero is basically a Lambo Diablo kit car (SSC used to built them) with 1200bhp.
@V8Supercar1 The F1 also has the critical acclaim of the world's motoring press to back it up too. I'm not saying that a car without driver aids won't make a good "driver's car", but there's a difference between earning that title and simply calling it that on the basis of it being poorly equipped.
I think the original Koenigsegg did cut corners. From looking at the interior I can see several Audi parts and it had a Ford engine. Nowadays their much more bespoke and are better for it.

@StuRaz: By your meaning,in your opinion you don't think that any car that doesn't have trac control handles well. Handling definitely, has a lot to do with slalom speed. Because to achieve a great slalom time your car has to have quick steering response as well as be able to hold the road while doing so. and the Ultimate Aero has done so. In order for a car to take a corner rather quickly, it has to be able to hold the road. Thats where latergal G and slalom ability comes into play.
@V8Supercar1 I didn't say that at all. I made that very clear. Boost up a Hyundai and fit fatter tyres and it will run quick slalom speeds but it won't handle. It also has nothing to do with quick steering. Holding the road can be done in any car just by fitting better tyres but when the grip runs out your handling comes in, like most accomplished supercars. Simply making a car have grip doesn't tell you anything. It's all about control and if it doesn't inspire confidence it's pointless.

Anyone can drive round in a circle or through cones at the same speed but accelerating, braking and generally driving in anger round a track is something entirely different and the car will behave in a different way.

Once you get past the grip that's when you see how well sorted the chassis is. Cars like the Corvette just rely on tyres and a wide track and it works until you lose grip. That's why it handles so badly and I haven't seen anything of this car either to say otherwise.

Thats so far from the truth I don't even know where to begin. Why do you think manufacturers spend so much time on the Nurburgring? It sure isn't to test tire grip. The 09 Cadillac CTS-V was practically built on the Nurburgring.
@V8Supercar1 They spend time there to get the feel of the car and to tune the chassis and handling. That's obvious. But to say it handles so well based on a laptime is just plain thick. Corvettes have to be physically man handled around the track, constantly wrestled into control.

holy cow, im a european and i have to say hand down apart from stereotypes and stupid prejudice, a pure brutal driving machine which to me is more appealing than the "collectors item" veyron that looks like an oversized chromed out easter egg or a vw beetle r32 on steroids :D sure the engineered w-16 quad-turbo is an achievement, but keep in mind,the ssc uses half the cylinders, half the chargers and less displacement yet generates both more hp and more torque!

The Veyron and the Aero simply can't be compared. The Veyron was designed to be a supreme luxury car that could also go 250+ mph. The Aero on the other hand was built only to 'beat' the Veyron's top speed and has no class at all. Im an american I live in a little town called livermore california and even i dont really like the styling of the ssc that much i dont know what it is but i just really dont like it. I mean i understand its faster than the veyron but id still rather have the veyron. Its styling is timeless and classic and fyi you cant get half the options for the ssc as you can the bugatti look it up

@V8Supercar1 Aero sacrificed every single driver aid and safety tool they could, spent zilch on build quality and probably handling too. Not ideal with almost 1200bhp under your right foot and a lethal torque curve with so much boost and high lift cams.

Jerod Shelby excluded these things because he meant for this car to be a driver's car. What else? It has power steering and power brakes. And handling? This car also broke the world record in the slalom when it was released and also topped the Veyron's skidpad numbers doing a 1.05 lateral g. Handling is definitely not something they sacrificed.

@V8Supercar1 A driver's car has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with driver aids. A driver's car is a car that is just great to drive and people will drive just for the fun of it. Jarod Shelby uses that excuse because he just can't afford them so just says, "oh oh..erm, it...it...it's because it's a driver's car yeah!" thinking he's off the hook then. It doesn't have power steering or brakes either.
Slaloms and skid pan Gs have nothing to do with handling and the Veyron pulls 1.13 anyway.

And secondly, the 09 and 2010 models of the Ultimate Aero does have powered assisted brakes and power steering. Slalom and skid pads have nothing to do with handling?? Are you insane? @V8Supercar1 Again you don't know the meaning of handling. What do you think the word means? It's all about control and feel, not simply how well the tyres hold the road. Once you run out of grip that's where the handling comes into it. Setting fast laps is useless if the car is too hard to drive.
The McLaren F1 was totally bespoke and it had the chassis to compensate for the lack of driver aids. The Aero is basically a Lambo Diablo kit car (SSC used to built them) with 1200bhp.

@V8Supercar1 The F1 also has the critical acclaim of the world's motoring press to back it up too. I'm not saying that a car without driver aids won't make a good "driver's car", but there's a difference between earning that title and simply calling it that on the basis of it being poorly equipped.
I think the original Koenigsegg did cut corners. From looking at the interior I can see several Audi parts and it had a Ford engine. Nowadays their much more bespoke and are better for it.

@StuRaz: By your meaning,in your opinion you don't think that any car that doesn't have trac control handles well. Handling definitely, has a lot to do with slalom speed. Because to achieve a great slalom time your car has to have quick steering response as well as be able to hold the road while doing so. and the Ultimate Aero has done so. In order for a car to take a corner rather quickly, it has to be able to hold the road. Thats where latergal G and slalom ability comes into play.

@V8Supercar1 I didn't say that at all. I made that very clear. Boost up a Hyundai and fit fatter tyres and it will run quick slalom speeds but it won't handle. It also has nothing to do with quick steering. Holding the road can be done in any car just by fitting better tyres but when the grip runs out your handling comes in, like most accomplished supercars. Simply making a car have grip doesn't tell you anything. It's all about control and if it doesn't inspire confidence it's pointless.

Anyone can drive round in a circle or through cones at the same speed but accelerating, braking and generally driving in anger round a track is something entirely different and the car will behave in a different way.

Like I said, everything is apart of "handling" (grip, braking, steering response, suspension settings, and lack of weight) these being some of the main attributes.

@V8Supercar1 That doesn't tell you anything about how the car behaves on the limit, I've been over this in earlier comments. Handling is not just how well a car can go round a corner. Once you get past the grip that's when you see how well sorted the chassis is. Cars like the Corvette just rely on tyres and a wide track and it works until you lose grip. That's why it handles so badly and I haven't seen anything of this car either to say otherwise.

I actually think the CTS-V is pretty good, the best car America currently make.

holy cow, im a european and i have to say hand down apart from stereotypes and stupid prejudice, a pure brutal driving machine which to me is more appealing than the "collectors item" veyron that looks like an oversized chromed out easter egg or a vw beetle r32 on steroids :D sure the engineered w-16 quad-turbo is an achievement, but keep in mind,the ssc uses half the cylinders, half the chargers and less displacement yet generates both more hp and more torque!

Yeah thats correct. But thats only because the veyron has awd and the SSC is rwd. But the SSC is quicker to 150mph and to 200mph than the veyron.

The Veyron and the Aero simply can't be compared. The Veyron was designed to be a supreme luxury car that could also go 250+ mph. The Aero on the other hand was built only to 'beat' the Veyron's top speed and has no class at all. It's like some loud fat obnoxious guy coming to a precision shooting competition with a shotgun and making a bullseye by chance.

I mean i understand its faster than the veyron but id still rather have the veyron. Its styling is timeless and classic and fyi you cant get half the options for the ssc as you can the bugatti look it up

SSC, or Veyron ? None of them ! SSC is a low quality car with an outdated engine (pushrod ? LOL) with huge turbos, Veyron is a (too) heavy GT ... Sportcars should be lightweight. For example: Mc Laren F1, Koenigsegg, Enzo ...
I'm not a big fan of american cars, but I would prefer a Corvette ZR1 (best american sportscar with reputation and history) over this overtuned piece of sh.t any time.

I would rather save some money and buy the Aero! I mean what sane person would want to spend 1,000's upon 1,000's of dollors in repair and maintenance bills for a Eruo car like the Veyron! You look at any owners manual for Ferrari, Lamborghini, ect. and you'll probably die from a heart attack when you see the maintenance schedules! Besides, the Aero is more reliable anyway because of it's 6.2 LITER RACING BLOCK! GET RACING BLOCK THROUGH YOUR THICK HEAD! Racing blocks are always more reliable!

304 teddy ... I totally agree that the aero is bad ass, but it does not out-handle the veyron. the veyron pulls 1.30 g's on the skidpad, while the ssc only pulls 1.05 g's on the skidpad. the veyron is a bulky supercar, but it is also one of the few that are all-wheel drive.

it may pull more gs, but the aero is more nimble around the track! the 4000+ weight of the bugatti kills it. it only posted a 7:40 on the nurburgring. the z06 did 7:43. the zr1 did 7:26!! the aero WILL be going to the "ring". they wil be looking at high 6's- low 7's.

the veyron's weight kills it. it has more grip than the z06, but it only beat it by THREE SECONDS on the nurburgring. the ZR1 destroyed it with a 7:26.

1183bhp, No traction control, no ABS, No power Steering, It's just a race car on the road. That's exactly what Buggati wanted to avoid. Anyone can sling a powerful engine in a car and make it go fast the Veyron will go fast in style, comfort and do it all day long.

hey dumbass it has abs,and power steering as an option. for you tea sipping fags its also available with 7.5" dvd, gps, premium 10 speaker audio, back up camera, cabin controlled front air lift, suede leather, and power everything. it also kills the veyron in acceleration(except 0-60) has a higher top speed, breaks sooner, and outhandles the veyron-running out of excuses huh fags.

Bugatti has lost the title of "world's fastest production car" and it's probably killing 'em. They said the record would last ten years and a tiny American company, with a pittance of VW's resources, eclipsed 'em in two. Who cares if the Bugatti has all the luxury features? This was about being the fastest, not who has the most effective a/c.

Exactly, it has more power than an F1 car, will go faster than an F1 car. But yet it had to be used everyday, its luxury and its not exactly a heavy car. The aero would be shit round a track and rubbish to use everyday, the engineering that went into the veyron is just fantastic.

thats because the veyron makes it over them no problem, had to be used everyday so they couldn't have it be so low it wouldn't get over them, only when the top speed key is turned will the car sit lower to the ground, get ur facts :)

the bugatti is junk it only goes faster because there is rules stopping them from only getting 1001hp, the old ones had more, also its only faster than a f1 because the bugatti has absolutely no downforce at all. AND YOUR TALKING ABOUT SHIT AROUND A TRACK!!!! the bugatti isnt a race car its a stretched out vw beetle with 2 v8's welded together with a few turbo's

If the veyron had no downforce then it would snake and be completely unstable when doing its top speed, there is huge aerodynamics design in the car, the car is perfection, the aero is built as a race car, the veyron ain't, get ur facts

dude u donteven know the bugatti is slippery, and was designed to have the lowest possible drag coefficient, this car has NO POSSIBLE DOWNFORCE POINTS EXCEPT THE SPOILER and was not made to take a fuckin corner, just go straight, and it doesnt get snakey at high speeds because its so heavy, it weighs almost 2 tons, the mclaren only weigher 1.5 tons and thats why it was twitchy. and WHY WOULD ANY IDIOT IN THE WORLD BUY A LUXURY CAR THAT GOES 250 its not a luxury car, iuts a poorly done race car

And its not just a simple case of welding two v8's together, and slapping a few turbo's on, the veyron has to run and run and run without any relability problems for years and years, i highly doubt the aero will purely because its built as a race car, its not meant to be luxurious, PLUS the veyron is full of all ur luxurys that people demand in a car, the aero ain't, LMAO @ the stretched vw beetle comment, think about what u say before u let ur belly rumble :)

umm...it IS just as fuckin simple as welding 2 v8's together and slapping 4 turbo's on. The mclaren? that was true fucking engineering, way better than the ultimate aero, or your stupid veyron, it is still one of the fastest cars ever and guess what, it was a NON FORCED INDUCTION v12 and it was designed TO TAKE A CORNER. OH and by the way you fucking idiot the thought that a quad turbo w16 will last for years and years is stupid, itd be toasted after 15000-20000 miles

You really are stupid, go watch tiff needel driving the bugatti veyron, he takes it on a track and it handles, he even likened it to a lotus elise WHICH PROVES it handles, and lets not forget Tiff Needel drove the Mclaren F1 so if he still said that about the veyron its saying something, and if it is as simple as slapping 4 turbos on and welding a couple o v8's together you go do it. Personally id take the mclaren f1 over both of them anyday, but the aero is butt ugly :)

oh and u do know the veyron actually generates 3000 bhp????? but because of all the other things taken into account and where it loses power it makes 1001, so ur there are rules stopping them from getting only 1001 is bollox, again get ur facts right :)
