I really like this couple.A lot.One of my favorite scenes is the one when Harry & Ron are talking about Ginny's & Hermione's skin.Then,when Ron starts talking,Harry has this look on his face like "Close call."One more thing!I adore the music they used for the kiss.For both of them really.For Harry & Ginny it was sweet & slow.For Ron & Hermione,it was "monumental" music since it was what we all had been waiting for.

I know not all of what is in the books can be put in the films and with books that are 600-700 pages I don't blame them. However my problem with the films stem from the fact they completely rewrite scenes and change the reasons for key events that happen in the book. Eg Ginny didn't hide the book with Harry, and he didn't hide it out of remorse, He hid it to avoid Snape finding out that he had it. You wouldn't have been able to get the whole story from the films alone as they miss too much out.

Lysanias25 actually has ap retty good rebuttal to the "the book is better" argument, but the movies do a rather poor job in expressing Harry and Ginny's love affair. Not only do they flat out re-write important portions of their relationship, they don't delve into Harry's reservations due to his friendship with Ron, Harry's agony of seeing Ginny with other boys, and the foil of Ginny to Cho. You can't justify all of these either omissions or revisions in the movies of the Harry Potter series.

I realize that they can't fit everything in the movie, but it kind of annoyed the crap out of me that they didn't show Harry and Ginny's relationship outside of a couple generic flirting scenes. In both OotP and HBP you see them getting to know each other. They could have at least brought up Ginny mentioning being able to calm Harry down when I thought Voldy was possessing him or her being upset that he was taking instructions from the Prince's book and her remembering Riddle's diary.

I personally think the movies didn't do the romance between Harry and Ginny justice. They didn't have enough seens, and like Harry being jealous of Dean and Ginny was never really emphasised other than in his conversation with Hermionie in the film, whereas it was in the book. Plus, the kisses were not very good in the films, like the kiss after the quidditch match in the Half Blood Prince book should have been the one in the film etc.

I really think that the directors/screen writers did not do their romance justice! In the movies, they seem silly&stupid, but in the books, they seem to grow together. Bonnie Wright and Daniel Radcliffe have little to no chemistry.

In the books, Harry was so jealous whenever he saw her with Dean. In the film, he seems to not even care about that up until she kisses him. That moment i guess made him think, "oh maybe i should like her now." It was disappointing how weird and unnecessary their romance seemed.

@boren81 Not if you think of it this way: The books are 15-20 hrs worth of story EACH. The fact that movies fit as much story as they do in 2 hours is quite impressive. Movies can't be compared to books. If the books are better because they have more nuanced and detailed story, of course the books will win every time. There is more room for it in the book. Movies must be judged on how well they reinterpret/abridge the book into a visual medium not by how much of the original story they fit in.

@Lysanias25 i agree with you 100%, but you can also look at it this way: in books, the author has to describe the setting (place, time, people, ect) which takes a while, compared to in a movie you see it for 3 seconds and you're set. the author also has to set up a visual for the reader and explain how characters are feeling at the time, compared to a movie, again, you can just see it for a short time and know. there's some more details but im running out of room and i think you get the point :)

I personally think the kisses in all the films have never been as good as described in the books and that is something that should have been kept the same in both. I know the movies are just an interpretation, but JK Rowling fitted them into the story well. You do have a good point though.

Harry and Ginny were for sure a couple that I personally really wanted to happen. From the first time you see Harry and Ginny you can see it was a cute friendship. And then Chamber of Secrets it became more evident that their friendship could go farther then our thoughts could. So as the years went on love comes in and for each of them and discover there love for one another in the six film. There sweet and quite about it that that's what makes them special together! :)
