@whoshotjfk every back needs good blocking to be good (except barry sanders). The important thing to me is his vision in the open field which is EXCELLENT. I love the way he cuts back and his tackle breaking ability. As surpising as it is that he's able to pull away from alot of these defense backs, I don't think he'll be able to do that in the NFL, but he'll still be able to break a lot of big ones and wear defenses down. That's the advantage of big backs is wearing dfenses down in 4th quarter.

Dwyer needs to get his weight down a bit. His ideal playing weight should probably be closer to 220. The reason he slipped is because scouts expected 4.4 like he ran in highschool and got a 4.68. Still a complete steal in the 6th and perfect fit for the Steelers' playing style.

The reason we got him in the 6th was because scouts were calling into question the fact that he basically has little to no experience in areas like blocking, and any plays outside of the 3-point stance. NFL teams that draft running backs high want a guy that is as close to a finish product as possible, and there were plenty of other backs that had those types of things...just not this guy's raw running ability. Most teams saw this kid as a gamble in earlier rounds.

I think most likely SD will have a shot at a very good running back in the first. The problem arises with what happens between now and pick 28. A lot of things can change and teams can change their minds as to who they're going to pick. I've seen some speculation that Cleveland could take Dwyer and NE could take Best. We would still have quite a few decent Rb's to select at 28 like, Mathews, Mcknight, Gerhart and a few more. There's also very good chance that AJ picks someone in the trenches
I've been hoping we pick up Best and I think we have a good chance at that. AJ has a good feel for drafting talent. Right in cali too he can't miss him, I think he might consider trading up if he feels NE wants him

He isn't that slow. I would guess he runs in the high 4.4, low 4.5 range. But he is built like a truck at 230+. I think his perfect weight would be around 225 pounds while keeping his power, maybe increasing his agility. If there is anything the Pats need it's a power back. They get pushed around too easily and Brady needs a strong back he can lean on.

McCoy has done nothing, Wells is a 2nd year player, Moreno did nothing, and Mendenhall is decent when healthy. And I can tell you don't know much about football if you think Bush isn't good. He did win a Superbowl and average 5.6 YPC last season The reason he doesn't put up huge numbers is because of limited touches.

And decent? 2009 was basically his rookie season, he only had seven attempts in the first three games of 2009, and still ran for 1100 yards on a pass happy Bruce Arians offense that is not designed for the run. Hopefully with Ben being out, dumbass (Arians) will revert to a run first offense and utilize the fullback!

The reason we got him in the 6th was because scouts were calling into question the fact that he basically has little to no experience in areas like blocking, and any plays outside of the 3-point stance. NFL teams that draft running backs high want a guy that is as close to a finish product as possible, and there were plenty of other backs that had those types of things...just not this guy's raw running ability. Most teams saw this kid as a gamble in earlier rounds.

Teams passed because of his slow 40 and the lack of tape of him hitting in between the tackles on runs. He also failed a drug test at the combine ,but it was a prescribe add drug he had been taking since age 5. Times in the 40 in indy in February do not impress me. Look at the tape the kid can play.

I think most likely SD will have a shot at a very good running back in the first. The problem arises with what happens between now and pick 28. A lot of things can change and teams can change their minds as to who they're going to pick. I've seen some speculation that Cleveland could take Dwyer and NE could take Best. We would still have quite a few decent Rb's to select at 28 like, Mathews, Mcknight, Gerhart and a few more. There's also very good chance that AJ picks someone in the trenches

He isn't that slow. I would guess he runs in the high 4.4, low 4.5 range. But he is built like a truck at 230+. I think his perfect weight would be around 225 pounds while keeping his power, maybe increasing his agility. If there is anything the Pats need it's a power back. They get pushed around too easily and Brady needs a strong back he can lean on.
