  • Sweet sweet game...

  • actualy, your missing a couple of points! for compleatly all of the points, you need the 99 lives thingy, and the power ups at start! (as in, you have them, but didnt touch a power up to get them)

  • @urpwnd4 99lives is cheating so it doesn't count.

  • @onlyoneongaku but you get the full points!

  • Some of the best music in all video game history starting @ 4:14...

  • The last boss seemed easy too me, but that's cuz I was usin the 99 lives cheat. :D

  • @999gokukid cheater

  • hes invincible u can see he got shot bare

  • damn, I alway remember this being an epic fight I had to us a ton of lives to beat.

  • le meilleur jeux de shoot que j'ai eu. sur megadrive.

  • any one know how to get this for the pc..i trow away the game and sysytem when i was small

  • Almost 6 mills.

  • mad skills. respect.

  • @spacexploder yeah, sick!

  • the last boss is oo easy

  • the player "made the boss look easy" - when you take the boss on yourself, you may find it a little difficult - respect to Succulla!

  • this game owns R-TYPE

  • i loved r type but i agree 110%

  • @MustNotRead This game owns probably every hori-shmup of 16bit-era and even many of 32bit-era...PURE PERFECTION IN EVERY WAY!

  • none of the names on the staff roll are real names

  • Begginning of the ending music bears a nifty resembalance to the intro to Stairway to Heaven.

  • Final boss looks a little weird, and comes on the screen in a lame way IMO. But still a great game and easily the best SHUMP on the Genesis.

  • great game and the best music, particularly the awesome staff credits music, such a perfect tune for a good triumphing over evil scenario!

  • A bit of trivia: the final boss of this game bears a strong resemblence to the final boss of Blast Wind, another Technosoft game.

  • Where can I get all the bgm tracks from this game?! The last boss music is awesome!

  • The options menu.

  • Best Shoot'em Up of all time. Best soundtrack too.

  • almost to true, this game cannot be overated its that good evev with the genesis it's minors, wtf i don't see minors here, only thing i see is this blowing almost any 16bit machine out of the water, the sega cd could do fatalitys on any 16 bit console with clever programmed games,it has freakin good scaling and 3d options.

  • This is not from the Sega CD.

Everything is done through programming on the regular old 7.3 Mhz Motorola on the MD.

This game is a work of art ;)

One of the best SHMUPS of all time. Forever.

  • i know, but i probably put it the wrong way.i know this is for the genny.

  • You´re right my friend!!

  • Everything about this games drips class, the detailed graphics, the rocking tunes, the rock hard yet fun gampeplay. You can tell they worked their asses of at Techosoft to really show what the Megadrive could do and also to show how talented they are as a games company. I have lost count of the amount of times I have played this epic game. I am also glad to see people on here who love it as much as I do, nice one guys and girls!

  • Yay!

  • I agree. I consider this game as the Megadrive's masterpiece.

  • @tehkao And not only that, it is made from a company that not too many people know of.

  • @Edd731 If TecnoSoft made licensed video games, they would've been just as good as this game!

  • Two socks, silver hammer, booby master, man sick staff roll xD i like this game so much and music rocks ;D

  • Yeah that staff roll was epic!! Actually the whole game was...

  • Merde trop dure ce jeu !!

  • The score table music is incredibly good! (as is the entire game)

  • Anyone know how I can get an MP3 of the score table music? It's too awesome.

  • @tehkao download a pc emulator for this game, then download audacity for free and record "What you hear" :)

  • ha to think i was just 12 years old when I played this, so long ago now, its almost like it was just a dream, I guess thats what life is, great game though and damn i still remember the ending exactly how it was, i hear TF6 is really good, Im going to check it out, although i dont play games much anymore, i bet my skills are crap now

  • whoa good shit man 5\5

  • dude how could you not have played 5 ? They brought it out for the ps2.. Hopefully you can find it.

  • damn right, thunder force IV, probably my favourite sega game ever. and i haven't played V yet cos i don't own the genesis! maybe i'll have to get one off ebay if it's any good...

  • ending music is amazing.. wow such good memories

  • wtf is the no miss bonus?

  • It's a points bonus awarded at the end of the game if you make it all the way through without losing any lives. I did TF3 on Mania level with a No Miss Bonus, and TF4 on Normal level with a No Miss Bonus. Never managed TF4 on Hard or Mania though unless I used continues.

  • Holy crap, you're like a god at these games. I LOL'd at 0:33, that robot didn't even get damaged by that giant fireball

  • I also love the silence between killing the silver bastard and the music kicking in for the final big boss fight.

  • It's funny how when people mention playing their old Megadrive games this one ALWAYS crops up as a fave. It is simply IMO the best scrolling shooter ever made and still is. Love this little gem. Still havent played TF5 or TF6, I bet they cant live up to the level this game set anyway lol.

  • I have played this game when I was a kid. Seeing you play through the entire game is like reuniting with a long lost friend. It certainly brings a tear to my eye.

  • Totally agree, this blew my mind out when I first played back in the early 90's. I borrowed it of a mate and kept it for the best part of 4 months and played it over and over.

  • It's not speeded up. Its the difficult: Manic. So the enemy shots are faster.

  • this videos been sped up, why?

  • never take down this video...please

  • i remember playing this when i was a kid. I only remembered the last stage though and the ending credits. I think the reason why I kept beating this game was to see the way ending picture.

  • Yo that score is pretty hard to beat. I tried but couldn't get it.... 5 star though creat play.

  • I mean great play...lol

  • Does anyone know what the final mystery image at 6:10 - 6:20 means?...I've never figured it out.

  • That is the orbiting satelite from Thunderforce V that discovers Vasteel near pluto. It's only a guess but It makes sense if you look at the TFV intro movie.

  • I always assumed it ment the computer system that you were ment to destroy had survived which would mean a sequel which made me well happy lol.

  • Apparently I completed Thunderforce IV but watching this I have no idea how managed too lol.

  • you can find it on emule the music

  • I love this game. The bso,the stages, the game, the enemies, this dificult impossible, all are perfect. For me,is a one of the best game of the history.

And the creator of video, you are the best,I need forever a minium of 100 lives for pass the game.

I have a question, the music of game are avariable?

  • So far I've got three favorites that I can pick up every now and then and they are interesting everytime:

    Thunder Force IV

    Ocarina of Time

    Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

    Great games.

  • It definitely is one of the best games ever made. A pinnacle in shmup gaming.

  • Even the Name Entry Screen music at the end is awesome, lol....

  • "this shit is so epic i dont know what to say"

    AMEN

  • I bow to your skills. O_O

  • this shit is so epic i dont know what to say

  • definitely best serie and music ever; Stand up against myself rocks everything that exists in video games music ^^

By the way why don't you use over weapon on th last attack of the last boss ? just befor he spreads the balls through the screens ? end finish the one that's still here with hunter instead of just using hunters ? he should die even quicker no ? As far as I remember this the way I played it in that difficulty. nice play though ^^

  • I love you.

  • oh my god you are the best player in the universe in normal difficulty i can only win air raid stage and strite stage (in that order)

  • 1992!?! I was 12 when this came out lol.

I love the way your ship buckles in the heat of the massive explosion....shit I just love this game.

Wasn't the ship called Rynex in this game?

  • Man I have lost days to this game.

    So fucking rock on Mania.

Sweet graphics and some of the best sounds and music in a game ever. Fuck it, THE best scrolling shoot em up EVER!

Only complaint is the slow down you get when loads of shit is going on but hey, its the megadrive and how they acheived this game on that is just genius!

16-bit is my fave era of gaming.

  • This really did push the megadrive to its limits. Scary thing is, as powerful as the SNES was it had a much slower clock speed than the megadrive so the slowdown would have been worse.

This is still one of my fave games ever. This, Dynamite Headdy and Gunstar Heroes have all stood the test of time. I was 9 when it was released and still play it now. Ah, they don't make 'em like they used to.

  • Yeah I agree one of the best looking and sounding games on the megadrive ever. I didnt know the SNES had a slower clock, I assumed it was faster as it had more modern tech inside it. Gunstar is genius but I never got to play Dynamite Headdy. Yup, games like this are pretty much history.

  • Ah dude, if you ever get the chance to play Dynamite Headdy don't pass it up. It's pretty messed up but SO innovative. I prefer it to Super Mario World

I play my retro collection far more than my xbox 360. Too much flash over gameplay these days. Man, do I sound old and bitter or what? lol

  • Hopefully they will start adding all these old games to xbox live for us all to replay/cherish/obsess over haha. Will check out the head mate. I play my retro games loads too. No you dont sound old or bitter lol I agree with you...hang on does that me sound old and bitter?! lol. I agree with you, flash graphics only go so far.

  • I agree as well. It's innovation like this that progresses the video games into what they are now. But I just wish they would continue to make new ideas and not push all these FPS's and stuff down people's throats. I'm with you guys and if you sound old and bitter, then I'm old and bitter too.

  • WHOA! You beat the stage in less than 3 min! Crazy stuff!

  • that last boss has the best game music ever, spaced out to the max

  • Savestates?

If not then VERY well done!

  • cool but not perfect! you missed to take free way at stage 1 and you missed some enemies!

  • Congratulations, Succulla!

  • Best ending music ever in a video game!!!
