  • Did maca root help u get pregnant

  • Maca root helped me get pregnant at ages 39 and 41. Helps improve egg quality and libido as well as balancing hormones and providing energy. Wonderful superfood!

  • do you know if maca root cancels out birth control?

  • How is it working for you? I just stumbled across a post on a web site about maca root and started googling it and found your video. Has it helped?

  • I jusy started to take maca root,im not trying to get pregnant but some people say that it gives women curves and its good for hormones. I want to know if their are side affects. Thanks

  • where could i get this?

  • U can find it cheaper probably on Ebay. I just looked it up tonight 10/04/11 and it's mind blowing.

  • how is it going im wondering since i am intrested in taking it.. thanks

  • @chiquis0891 I replied on your channel page! :)

  • can you recommend a cheaper brand?

  • @kim103live I've never tried a different brand. There are several brands of maca root though. If you have a local vitamin store they should be able to help you.

  • I just bought some, I have been off the pill for at least 4 months. I am hoping it will reglate my cycle. :)

  • @dwltg *regulate*

  • @dwltg did it regulate it?

  • now i'am TTC with maca. i hope it works

  • Have you noticed any issues with weight gain while taking Maca root?

  • I am excited for you, I am glad you did a video on this, I am not ttcing YET, I was diagnosed with bi polar and I want to try something different by medicating myself naturally, and also when I am pregnant I don't need any anti depressants or anything at all so I was thinking that my hormones might be screwed up so I am def going to try this! I am excited to see a review later...

  • Definitely a great video. I will be sure to try Maca root in the future if metformin doesn't work out :D)

  • I also looked into the maca root but I had already purchased the vitex which is what I'm taking this cycle. Good luck and keep us posted about how its working.

  • @mssensational I hope the vitex works for you! I have heard good things about it too!

  • @plus1please Thank you so much for your kindness. I'm hoping that it works as well. Iv felt a few little changes thus far. Hope that things work out for you as well. Please keep us posted with how you think maca is helping. Good luck and tons of baby dust.

  • where did you purchase the Maca ROOT

  • @Stacy81107 I purchased it from a local natural living/supplement store.

  • I have really bad skin which is hormonal so I am on board! Finding it tomoro lol

  • @ttcabeba Hope it works for you!

  • Great Video!!! I love alternative/ holistic medicine BUT I have learned a LOT along the way... plants are what they used back in the day to help people but I also like regular meds too. And, people can always go to a Naturopathic Doctor if they feel uneasy doing without any advice from a regular doctor.

  • @alandamandamama I am learning so much as I research it more and I find it all so interesting! I definitely want to try more "alternative/holistic" things.

  • Great information! thanks for sharing what you're learning. I'm all about using natural herbs and minerals instead of going the drug route.

  • @sterlingwalters I've been researching it more and more and I am really fascinated by it all!

  • Yes, this stuff is awesome, I have my hubby on it, and i'm drinking a liver tea now and then will take my conception tea so I can clean out my uterus. I will start on maca soon. God bless you, natural is a great way to go!

  • @taraladyvirtues I hope it works for you both!

  • I'm also looking to buy some False Unicorn Root tincture, from the health food store. Apparently it is another great herbal supplement for fertility.

  • @MadreMaven Never heard of it- off to Google! :)

  • I've been taking maca for a while now, the pills are way easier than the powder. My partner was taking them for a while too, we need to get some more ;)

  • It worked for me...twice! I hope it works for you too!!!! The trick for sure is for you both to take it.

  • @burbujajg Oh yay, I love hearing this!

  • I haven't tried Maca yet but I have had a lot of success with my naturopathic and homeopathic stuff. I definitely cycle on my own more than I did before I took all this stuff. I'll have to look into Maca!! Thanks for the info!

  • @ttcMandyT If you decide to try it, let me know what you think!

  • Very interesting info! Sounds like it could definitely help and I'm all for a supplement that can help with IF. Can't wait to hear your reviews on it over time. It's also great to hear your renewed excitement!!

  • @dren0951 Thank you! I hope that you are doing well! :)

  • This sounds interesting! I've never heard of maca root and I didn't realize it could do so much! If I'm not pregnant this cycle this is def something to check out and talk to my doctor about. Thank you Kelsey for sharing this product with us!

  • @LovingMomma87 I am loving the maca root, but hope that you become pregnant and don't have to try it ;)

  • Really neat, Kelsey!!! I'm excited that you found a new vitamin for both of you, and I really hope it works. I am gunna see if I can find it around here as well:) Great information! Thank you, so much:) I Love Mandee! WooHoo for Maca Root! :)

  • @LeAnnaMae29 Love you too LeAnna! <3

  • After our initial SA when we found out Kyle had low moltility I did a ton of research and maca root was the first thing he started on. He still takes it to this day. It's 2 capsules a day- but I have no idea what the mgs are (since he has it with him right now). But he's been on them for 10 months now. It was one of the ingrediants in fertilaid- which seems to work! I hope is works for you guys, too!! YAY!!! Love ya!

  • @kyleandjessP Ah, I love hearing that it worked for you Jess!

  • The brand you bought is very reputable. Maca is generally very safe and is considered an adaptogen. I actually met the lovely scientist/natural fertility expert who endorses this product. She is Australian but made a brief US appearance a few years ago. She specializes in "preconception care". She has an amazing book called "Healthy Parents, Healthy Babies". Good luck!

  • @TheLifeInTheNorth Oh that's great! I am really liking it :)

  • Oh wow! I'm so going to look Into this. Sounds amazing and I love the fact that it's good for you! I'm pretty such my hormones are crazy so this sounds ideal!! Thanks for sharing this with us! Xoxo and good luck with it!

  • @TeaandTimW707 If you decide to try it, let me know how you like it!

  • I was wondering if you have heard of xenoestrogens and how they can cause problems with hormone balance / reproductive system? I did a lot of Google research since we have been TTCing and found out that certain perservatives that are in a lot of beauty products (check out ingredient list) can cause your body to get an overdose of estrogen which causes an imbalance and a host of problems. Some of these xenoestrogens are called "parabens", methylparaben, butylparaben, ethylparaben methylparaben.

  • @danagradaya I've heard about parabens and generally try to be mindful of the products I buy/use (though there are some I haven't found "safer" replacements for much to my dismay!). However, I haven't done any research on xenoestrogens or heard about what you're saying. Sounds like a good Google is in order! Thanks!

  • Hi, my husband has been using the maca root powder on his food for maybe three months now so I will let you know how that works with TTCing. One thing that has been interesting, he and I both stopped eating meat and dairy products last December and I have really noticed some body changes in both of us. I used to have pretty rough cramps each cycle since I've been a teen and during this last cycle (March) I did not have any. I still had some pressure but not the same kind of pain as before.

  • @danagradaya Oh I do hope the maca root gives you good results! I buy all organic/non-genetically modified dairy products as it is, and definitely noticed a difference in my body since making the switch about 2 years ago. My parents run a hunting camp so all our meat (with the exception of chicken or sea food) comes from them and I know what they've been fed, how it's been processed, etc so that really helps. That's great that your having good results already!

  • @danagradaya Edit- I do have a major addiction to frozen yogurt bars and I'm pretty sure our local one isn't organic so I do enjoy some non-organic dairy on occasion :) ha

  • in the first trimester. (Sorry I'm writing too much!) Anyway, I love maca!! I got mine on Amazon.com. I hope this works for you when you are able to try again. Oh and I'm glad you are having your hubby take it too. I had my hubby start taking it but when I got my BFP he stopped taking it. It does have kind of a funky taste.

  • @tigereyes914 Congrats on your pregnancy!! My box actually says to stop taking it when you become pregnant...? I wonder why. I definitely intend to do more research about it because it doesn't seem to make since being that it's a plant, but it's probably just the company covering its butt so they can't be sued if something happens during a pregnancy, ya know? Maybe? ha. Thanks for your comment!

  • @plus1please I have heard that too but I have also heard of women who stopped taking it and miscarried. I had a really early miscarriage a few months ago and I am terrified of miscarrying again. I'm planning on taking maca until I'm out of the 1st trimester at least. I've also been reading "Eat Right 4 Your Baby" and it's about eating according to your blood type. It says that Red Raspberry Leaf, which is similar to maca, is good for all blood types, especially during pregnancy.

  • I am 7 weeks pg now after TTC for 5 months and I completely believe it is because of the maca. I took Vitex (another natural fertility aid) up until I ovulated then I stopped taking that and started taking maca. The bottle I have said to take 3 a day and when I got my BFP I started taking 2 a day and now I am still taking 1 a day. Red Raspberry Leaf is also a good natural supplement I've heard about but I'm not taking it now because I've heard it can cause mc if you start taking it (cont.)

  • do you still take a prenatal as well or is this in place of a prenatal?

Thanks for sharing your find with us.

  • @treysmombrandy I still take a prenatal because it's full of really good vitamins and minerals your body needs while pregnant, especially folic acid and DHA. You can't get that from the maca root!

  • i started taking maca last month. i can see small changes.....if anyone doesnt have access to it you can buy it at naturalfertilityinfo . com

  • @Lopezjourney That's great you're already seeing changes!

  • GOod luck!

  • @syn7000 Thank you!

  • thank you so much my progrestrone is 0.01 I am going to find a please that sells it and go but it. I hope it helps and I will let you know

  • @hartrose33 I bought mine at a local natural living/organic store. I am pretty sure places like Whole Foods would have maca root supplements also. Or, you can find anything online of course. I just like buying things like this in person for some reason. Good luck!!

  • That is soo intresting, depending on how this cycle turns out i'll try that. I have nothing to loose right, soo my hubby will try it too lol. Thanks for the info.

  • @wErHoPiNg4BaBy Hope it helps, but I hope more so that you don't need to try it and end up with a BFP instead!! :)

  • Awesome video & Thanks for the shout out! I hope it helps us both! :)

  • @MandeeTheGreat Yes, definitely keep us updated on how it works for you!

  • were you talking it already when you got AF?

    and how long before?

  • @jerralynemerson No, I started taking it on cycle day 9 and I have been taking it for 5 days now. I don't expect to see any effects for a while.

  • Great video Kelsey!! Thanks for sharing :)

  • @LittleMsHopeful Thanks for watching! :)

  • Thats awesome. I hope if works for you guys. Did you die your hair? Looks good lighter.

  • @MissLea922 Thanks so much! No, I didn't dye it. I just usually film using my built in webcam on my Macbook, but I filmed this using my Flip cam (what I will use for filming from now on btw) and it's much better quality so things appear how they should. Also it helps that I blow dried my hair for a change because it's usually in a wet bun in videos :)

  • I LOVE Maca! My husband and I started taking it (2 x 500mg capsules in the morning every day) back in August last year and less than a month later we were pregnant! Unfortunately I went on to miscarry but as soon as we started to TTC again I continued with it. Just waiting for it to work its magic again now! It's really increased our energy & libido and regulated my cycles too. I don't get PMS like I used to & generally feel much happier! Good luck with the Maca, I think you'll love it too! :)

  • @BluePoppy333 I am so glad to hear it's worked for you! I am sorry about your miscarriage and hope that you will quickly conceive again!

  • @plus1please Thanks Kelsey - actually this morning I got my new BFP at 10dpo! I'm so happy! It took 6 months this time around but I'm sure the Maca helped! :)

  • Thanks for sharing!!! I've tried the powder form and as soon as I opened it I knew I wouldn't be able to take it without gagging because of the smell. Not that it smells bad but it just didn't smell good lol. I'm going to give the capsule form a try and see how it goes.

  • @Erica020911 The capsules do have a strange smell and taste, but obviously you swallow it so it instantly goes away. I can't figure out how to explain the taste though, but isn't awful or anything... just strange. Let me know how you like it if you try it!

  • This is awesome, I have decided on taking evening primrose oil but the maca root sounds even better! hmm I wonder if both is a bit much? I think I may try maca. Im taking 2 months off from ttc after this cycle ends so ill let u know how it goes with the maca. very intrigued Iv always been into using nature to help. :D Great video ill be sure to let everyone know about ur video! XXX

  • @DanielleBabyBliss I don't know much about evening primrose oil but I *think* I have read on TTC forums that women have taken both. I'd do a bit of research before making a decision about it though obviously!

  • Ok I have to try that stuff lol.

  • @taetwa Let me know what you think if you do!

  • I think it's AWESOME that you're trying some natural supplements! I am a huge believer in natural, herbal remedies. I hope these work for you guys! :) Thank you so much for sharing!

  • @PearlDahhhling I'm a big believer in them too. I thought it would take some convincing to get Colby on board, but I think he's been so fed up with bad reactions to prescription products and all his health problems that he was more apt to give it a shot. He's all gung ho about it now and wants to try more "natural" stuff, haha. What natural things do you use? (Video idea? :)

  • @plus1please I could possibly do a video.... I just have been raised on natural things only (for the most part). My parents never gave me traditional vaccinations or medications, and instead took me to a naturopath and I took homeopathic medicines. I was pretty much never sick as a kid, and anytime I had a cold or something my parents would give me homeopathics and natural remedies and they always worked like a charm. So I definitely believe that they work! It makes completely sense to me.
