Dude, the USB units are all "prosumer," at best, at least from what I've seen. If you want a true pro setup, then you have to go with firewire. Oh, also, nobody cares about problems that a 9 year old OS has.
this is very sad. The firewire is the part that I thought was awesome in how you can daisy chain. That would be way cheaper than purchasing a digital snake with 32 inputs
Wow I was going for one of those I still need more info maybe this guy is wrong or fucked up somewhere
Good video my friend. I currently use a MAudio Delta card and Omni I/O. No problems...had it for years now. I saw a Firestudio locally for $200! I was thinking about grabbing it, but not sure if the mic pres are much better. I don't need that many, but seemed like a good used price.
I am tentative with Firewire as well. My friend got a MAudio 410, and we installed the drivers at least 6 times, finally got it to work...but it wasn't stable at all. Piece of shit. his delta 1010 is better
Your #1 con is moot. How you can you blame this device for a known bug for Microsoft. You even screenshot the site from MS showing you that there's a problem and they don't care to fix it. USB was developed for PC and 1394 was developed for Apple. Don't blame PreSonus that Windows XP can't manage hardware interfaces correctly.
Didn't you try changing the driver to LEGACY TEXAS INSTRUMENTS in your Operating system? that's what I had to do to take care of problems with my MOTU ULTRA lite... this prob would have saved you from taking it back..
You seem like a really cool guy but i have to disagree. I think the Firestudio is great. I've been running it in my studio for a long time, i push mine to the ABSOLUTE LIMIT EVERYDAY and mine has always kept up. I do recommend using mac... that might be your problem.
I always had problems till i switched to Logic and Pro tools using a mac.
Heya doodoobutter, thanks for the reply. Your exactly right. Windows XP has always had problems with firewire. I don't know if Windows 7 does but I imagine on a Mac, the firestudio would work great as would most firewire units. I'm actually thinking about getting a MacBook Pro 17" for shows.
I love Pro Tools. I've never used Logic but would love to try it someday. I hear lots of good things.
yea i would deff invest in a macbook pro.. they are very hard working computers that you can rely on and trust, unlike pc... But about logic, I LOVE IT!! I used protools for a long time then i found Logic. Logic grabbed my attention and i never went back to protools.. lol
I just love the way Logic is lade out. It seems to make my work flow a little faster.... You should deff try it.
I've use Firestudio for a long time, and it is one of the best interface, and use it with win 7 64bit, but win 7 still have the glitch problem with firewire, i recommend not using window and go into mac
Hola!!!..
Hey man thanks for the comment. If they work out the bugs it will be kool. I'm tyring to decide if I'm buying a new setup or getting a cardbus to hook up the Emu1616
I use Sony Vegas. It's great. I've tried Adobe Premier which is also good, and Adobe After Effects which is really good but complicated. Thanks for commenting :D
