Strong words but I agree with both of you. There's nothing about Chelsea's portrayal that feels honest or clever. It's too forceful and rehersed. And her voice is horrible for the character! Her range can't sustain what was written for the score. She's constantly nasally, strained, flat and just yelling. Sierra on the other hand inhabits the character. She embraces Ariel and her voice was practically made for this. It's clear as bell and her belts are perfectly rich. That and she's beautiful.

yeah, a REALLY dislike Chelsea. her voice isnt right for Ariel. the way she says "burn" and "turn" in POYW is just bad. i met her while she was still a mersister. and she was such a bitch. i hate her.

NinjaFishy- I don't disagree that Sierra's live performances are more passionate and engaging then the cast recording. But you have understand that when you're a stage performer it's natural to become more emotionally involved with the audience and all around you. As opposed to singing blandly to a microphone for 3 days. It's harder to connect with. I still thought she was great on OBC recording. She doesn't become Ariel. She is Ariel! Mind, body, and soul of one of Disney's beloved princesses

Oh, I'm not saying she's bad on the cast recording. She is FABULOUS in general. She does embrace the role whole-heartedly, she's an Ariel fan since 7 years old! I could not think of anyone more suited for this role.

I was thrilled when some of the audience started applauding at the end of the song! Pulling off a belt in a soprano tone is exeedinly difficult. My only complaint is I wish in the arrangement she could hold a full belt for a little longer. I know she has the ability. By the way who was playing Ursula at this show- Heidi or Faith?

This is amazing. I live in Ottawa, so it is hard to see this show. This is my favorite. When is Sierra leaving? I s there a replacement fo her? Why is the cast changing all of a sudden. Is it true Sierra was gone for a little bit because she was in a different show? Thanks.

oh and there were 2 girls in front of us (you cant see them in the film, well you can for a little while when there is dialog) they were so annoying they would whisper and look at me and my bf and like talk while looking at us sooooo they were talking about us like....... i think i heard one of them say "oh look at him hes gunna cry" lol they were more interested in the people around them then the show. lol just had to say that. lol i hope they look for this vid and see this. hahahh

If you had cried, would that have been awful? I cried like 50 times during the show, especially at the end. I bawled like a fucking baby! Like I was in third row, and when I was crying I think one of the cast members saw me lol.
