yeah the only real money in fighting sports is professional boxing. You still can't even make a whole lot in MMA yet. In terms of.."never having to work again" type money.
guys like Ali, Tyson, Oscar, Mayweather and now Pacquiao are putting away 25 million per fight. Mayweather fought 2 times in one year and made something like 60 million.
"its a junior fight" sums it up pretty well (1.36) not my words but his trainer!!
the bully card is always one to pull out for the reason why they push their kids to do martial arts and thats fair enough in most cases but its a bit of a coincidence when hes already said he's always wanted to be a champ and to be recognised (2.55).....so hes living it through his son!!
wouldnt be surprised if these kids grow out of wanting to train!!
i was goin to start age 10 but i dint have my dad to take me or anything as my parents split at age 7 so i dint now im 16 and goin mma just for the fitness rather than to fight i wana be fightin fit
My son fought Thai Barlow a year ago and beat him fair and square, by the way my son only had about four fights previously. Thai's parents saw fit to moan at the judges and get the verdict overturned to my son losing about 10 minutes after it was announced that he had won. If this is how thai barlow and his sister win fights then god help them when he gets older. Luckily my son does not get upset that easily.
i think getting your kids involved with the martial arts is really positive,(if that's what THEY want),but seriously, did you ever see a better example of idiotic white trash than that bald guy pushing his crying daughter into a ring or that slut, connor's mom ,laughing as he talked about fighting at school? -- ignorant hillbillies ain't only from america it seems
I hate Thai's parents.. Becuase they are far too strict with him. He wants to have a fucking day off, and a chance to make friends and do something else, what's wrong with that. Best memories of childhood are, mucking about with your friends and making up stupid games.. Playing about outside, having freedom, and saying what ever you want.
Pissing about with your parents and doing thai boxing all day... What kind of happy memories will that bring back.
Becuase some people get it worse than others... Some get it so bad that they bleed, and it really hurts and it's all over them. My sister had it, but she only got it mild.
I watched a documentry, where these kids had to wear, bandages at night with cream, just to stop the pain...
When they made this program they seem to have gathered up all the worst parents they could find. I take my kids to thai boxing because it gives them discipline and it teaches them to have respect for other people. The way Thai's parent's are acting is disgraceful to the sport. To hear the mum say she enjoys smashing people faces, it goes to show these kind of people have no respect for the sport. I don't envy young Thai's future having parent's like these managing him.
I THINK that was Conner's mother saying that in another youtube vid. Conner is a good little scrapper but he also said that he smashes kids faces for calling him names. THAT, I believe is wrong and he needs to exercise more restraint. You cannot physically hurt someone just because they called you a name. I mean, that's free speech as crude as it can me. BUT if another kid PHYSICALLY bullied Conner, he has every right to defend himself even if it means "smashing" the kid's face!
No if you watch the vids properly it was definately thai's mum who said that. I can't fault what a ten year old boy say's because 9 out of 10 times they are just mimicking what the adults around them have said. i try to remember these are kids not adults. Thai's parent's are building a disrespectful ego.
Which will be knocked down quickly as he gets older.
get a fucking grip it stops them turning into drug addicts and helps channel there natural aggression. Whats wrong with abit boasting if its keeping them off the streets?
finally someone who understands, most people don't realise that people that train combat sports are usually the most relaxed laid back people they will ever meet, because they feel no need to prove themselves, apart from some of the parents in the programme give a bad example of the sport. TBH though i can't stand those cotney's that kid is a real dirty fighter.
These parents are living through their children.

prize money.
if guessing besides their ego being satisfied they are thinking of their child as a future investment, a prized fighter that will win tournaments.
money.
