And the battle formation was the Chain Formation, with Rei in the group. Whenever we attacked first and all had extra turns.
this boss nice to fight haha but compared to the 4th BOF final boss, FOU-LU, in his dragon/lizard/thingamajig casting imba skills and insanely damaging magic killing my characters in ONE HIT,... nah, he was okay too.

Took at least an hour to beat her, it was an epic moment at the end. I'm pretty sure I used Rei and Garr. I felt so proud too because my older brother never even got to Teepo. I must have only been like 11 or 12. Goood times!
I have both "Breath of Fire I" and "Breath of Fire II". I think they should remake the games suitable for the leading systems (PS3, Wii, X-Box 360, PSP, and the DS or the 3DS). But at the same time, make it into a trilogy game like "Metroid Prime Trilogy" where all 5 games are on each copy.

Honestly, It's really all personal taste what kind of party you prefer. For a Chain form/Rei setup, Momo works pretty well. Her defense and HP blows, but she gets some really great support spells, and if you pump her int/hp, she can pack a whallop with Myollnir.
Personally, I just give Peco shield and war shout, and heal with items - I would rather use as support a character who is tougher and can dish out some damage.
@dannielsqualleonhart No Your wrong this gameplay is not cheated its just that since he started new game every characters path to take like the teacher has already been planned at the start there are a lot of type of character through masters since if you planned to choose a master you should already know the skills you can get

is MoMo really worth using through out the game? When I acquired her, I used her for a good bit but she seems to miss alot so I removed her and replaced her with Peco alongside with Nina. I use Peco as a meat shield and Nina since she usually ends up making the first move, i see her being vital for those clutch moments when you need to heal someone + Aoe damage. What do you guys think?

It always pissed me off, how BOF4 got rid of the bitchin dragon designs.. I was so angry when they decided the make the dragons in 3d, because they did such a half-assed job. The warrior in BOF3 was badass, but then the warrior in 4 just floats there and raises his arm.
I watched the leveling charts to see what stats my characters gain/do not gain during which levels and set their masters accordingly so they lose no stats at all, but reap benefits from the plus sides. Like when i see I Aint gona get Agility any level soon, I apprentice to Fahl, low AP streaks make me head to Bunyan, etc. My characters were proper stat-pimped juggernauts by the end of the game. Myria fell in less than 3.5 minutes.
I use to play the hell out of this game back in like 98, 99 but since my brother has the game still on the other side of the country, i found a sweet thing called an iso and an emulator.
I never really bothered with the Breath of Fire series before. Never been a fan of traditional Turn-Based RPG's due to the slow combat speed, with the exception of games like Golden Sun.
Would anyone recommend I start with 3?
Or should I start at BoF1 and work my way through them for the sake of the storyline?

@smashbrolink I started with 3 myself. The storyline from the previous games do not influence the understanding of BoF3's Storyline. They're fairly independent to the extent that they seem to be set in different universes (or as gameplay shows, timelines), just like the FInal Fantasy series. The only thing that they have in common is having a blue-haired Dragon character named Ryu and a Wing clan princess Nina.
Remember this one big time, if you died, you have to go through all of that text all over again, and boy was it super duper luper king ass sexy ass socks and sneaks pooper LONG!!!
Wow, Ryu's health and mana :O my ryu at level 42 had only 135 ap, and his health was 180 :( I suppose he was trained VERY differently. . .more to focus on his healing abilities, than for extensive use of kaiser :P Again, a lot of people think its idiotic to se Ryu for his healing, but I;ve always found it tp be more effective to overbuff the characters at the beginning f bosses (except against myria, only once she starts using holocaust, then I blast Assist magic and celerity)

Myria is a joke if you save up a bunch of items throughout the game. I also think the Warrior accession with Aura is better... hit like 2500s with it. I normally buffed up Ryu with might and ginseng, then had him use an hourglass and just have at it. Wisdom Fruits on Ryu frequently because Aura is a lot of AP (20). But I had Myria killed in just a few short rounds.
@Butternutz7 That's how it is, but if you had read the million other comments saying about the same thing, you would know that i don't really care about the "best" ways to beat bosses. (Unless the boss is a Cheating Bastard or That One Boss.)
Besides, what would be the point of every single video of beating a certain boss in a game be the "ideal" way to beat it?

@SeanK1212 She does alot of viscous attacks that if unprepared and not over stat/lvled you'll be in the fight of your life (like I was first time around). They include: Sanctuary and Venom. Sanctuary you just gotta be on the lucky side that she doesn't non-stop chain it. Venom can be repelled by certain status saving uhm...amulets? Gems? Accessories? My god its been so long since I've played, I forgot what that slot is called lol. Just remember that my first save against her was hell too!
now people bitch about how ugly game graphics when they haven't even looked or tried to play the game or understand the story, its disappointing me that people have to be like that sometimes. I know graphics are good, but sometimes a great story is better.

Yeah, look at FF12. Easily the most impressive in terms of graphics in the FF franchise....but has a schizophrenic plot, the blandest characters I've ever seen(except for Fran, Basch and Balthier) that make Squall look like three-dimensional and a gameplay system that plays itself--rendering the meaning in playing it literally unnecessary. When it comes to RPGs, graphics should never be the first and foremost priority.

One of my favorite games of all time. I got this game when I was about 8 years old. It was the first RPG I played through. I sucked balls the first time through, but this game just strikes a chord somewhere in me. I've played through it so many times. The story line is awesome, graphics are epic for the time... This and BoF IV are like my favorite games ever.

@duskcloud0032 because the warrior form is vastly weaker than the kaiser form. with a standard attack the kaiser forms attack with just the radiance gene exceeds the damage of aura.
I should give you my save if you really want a tough ass Myria fight :D It'll easily make ya sweat. Haven't played the game in months, there's no way I could win it now.
Then before I stopped playing I had a save where Nina probably could solo her -.-
I remember this game being alot of fun, especially the castle where you have to meet up with that one princess or w/e. Another cool part is getting that one buff guy to join your party in the crappy town.

Never played this game but I like the simplicity and the graphics. The music is great... love the synthesized guitar sounds. Looks a little complex but I guess when you go thru the whole game, the commands become more familiar. Good post.

all you need for this fight, is whatever the ring is that prevents confusion, and str up and aura attacks, done. And having speed formation with rei up front, everyone always gets an ex turn so awesome :D

he could just turn into warrior for insane damage (i think u can pull around 1000-2000 damage with focus+aura)
or you can go behemoth super high defense and hp (mammoth got about 1000+ health which broke the 999 HP max limit 0_o)

@FroslassandGallade Everyone has their own ways to play games. Or, in this case, their own chosen characters, and ways to build them.
I tend to just go use whatever characters i feel like using.
And, yes, i do tend to build Ryu around dragon forms, but there's nothing wrong with building him as a healer.

Myria is a joke if you save up a bunch of items throughout the game. I also think the Warrior accession with Aura is better... hit like 2500s with it. I normally buffed up Ryu with might and ginseng, then had him use an hourglass and just have at it. Wisdom Fruits on Ryu frequently because Aura is a lot of AP (20). But I had Myria killed in just a few short rounds.

@Butternutz7 That's how it is, but if you had read the million other comments saying about the same thing, you would know that i don't really care about the "best" ways to beat bosses. (Unless the boss is a Cheating Bastard or That One Boss.)
Besides, what would be the point of every single video of beating a certain boss in a game be the "ideal" way to beat it?

@Butternutz7 yes but you can learn Aura from Ladon and use it with Kaiser Dragon and then Shadowalk. It's really faster, because it hits 3000+

@Cyril86 wow, that is some beast agility with rei, but I'm still shocked that you survived with that low of health. who were you apprenticed under? personally I always disliked momo, I prefered to use garr, 'the tank' of the game (under bunyan he has massive attack/defense) my lowest level when I fought her was 40.

@kingofbudokai I generally just apprenticed under whoever.
I know how to abuse the masters in this game but i usually choose not to.
Also the true "tank" of the game is Peco apprenticed under Fahl(+4 HP, +1 PWR, +3 DEF, -3 INT, -3 AGL) all the way from level 1.
(Highest HP in the game, 50% counter rate, percentage based HP regen)

why there is alot of people thinks aura is the strongest oh by the way i beat Myria at level 37 lol i own him like 8 minutes and 46 seconds or so own and plus if you thinks like how did you beat him on such low level because level is only needed for skills and skills that you can get from different masters its only base on your strategy like me i beated dragon lord or teepo only at 3 hits with shadow walk and i did not use any cheats cause cheating is no fun

LOL i beat this boss only using shadow walk well i dont know but its like shadow walk is stronger than aura cause when i used aura it only 1000+ but when i did use shadow walk it reach 6000+ i used aura with kaiser form also on normal i used the same with shadow walk is like shadow walk is a owning attack before i use aura i used 3x focus and might then i restart it and try to kill him with shadow walk i used 3x focus and might to but the damage is 6x greater than the aura i dont know

@SeanK1212 She does alot of viscous attacks that if unprepared and not over stat/lvled you'll be in the fight of your life (like I was first time around). They include: Sanctuary and Venom. Sanctuary you just gotta be on the lucky side that she doesn't non-stop chain it. Venom can be repelled by certain status saving uhm...amulets? Gems? Accessories? My god its been so long since I've played, I forgot what that slot is called lol. Just remember that my first save against her was hell too!

Yeah, look at FF12. Easily the most impressive in terms of graphics in the FF franchise....but has a schizophrenic plot, the blandest characters I've ever seen(except for Fran, Basch and Balthier) that make Squall look like three-dimensional and a gameplay system that plays itself--rendering the meaning in playing it literally unnecessary. When it comes to RPGs, graphics should never be the first and foremost priority.

One of my favorite games of all time. I got this game when I was about 8 years old. It was the first RPG I played through. I sucked balls the first time through, but this game just strikes a chord somewhere in me. I've played through it so many times. The story line is awesome, graphics are epic for the time... This and BoF IV are like my favorite games ever.

@bof3nerd shadowwalk can be learned from meryleep the faerie master.
and aura can be learned from ladon the dragon master. or you can use most warrior type transformations and get the move automatically.

@duskcloud0032 because the warrior form is vastly weaker than the kaiser form. with a standard attack the kaiser forms attack with just the radiance gene exceeds the damage of aura.

Never played this game but I like the simplicity and the graphics. The music is great... love the synthesized guitar sounds. Looks a little complex but I guess when you go thru the whole game, the commands become more familiar. Good post.

all you need for this fight, is whatever the ring is that prevents confusion, and str up and aura attacks, done. And having speed formation with rei up front, everyone always gets an ex turn so awesome :D
