  • very very helpful ! :) cheers

  • Does this work for strobe lights too? hehe... When I film bands they like to use the strobe lights & you only see the strobe on a small part of the frame.

  • I believe NTSC is the proper format in Japan as well as America.. Though there was a chance this might help someone :)

  • what if we're in asia?? how do we check the frequency of the lights here :?

  • What camera are you using to take that video?

  • @1SNTCC canon 550D

  • Can you change the video shutterspeed on the d90?

  • @AZNFlipy12 em? do you have a d90? have you read your instruction book?

  • What if you go lower like 24 FPS or 30 FPS? I have not see this in my videos with the 7D in NTSC at ant framerate. "cheers"

  • @nate42nd your in america so you shouldnt have a problem but if you changed your camera to PAL so that it was shootin gat 25 or 50fps then you would notice an issue

  • You're smart! Great tip!

  • anyone notice the brain fart at 2mins 5 seconds

  • Not being a video guy I feel I've learned something today. Thanks Dom.

  • @snappuppy Oh you will be now you have that new 7D :) Told you

  • huh, interesting. Never knew the correlation between fps and hrz.

  • what does "shutter speed" in video mode mean? recording a video doesn't require to close the shutter? i don't understand that.

  • @Sinwori its how quickly it reads the sensor, does it read it in a one hundredth of a second or does it read all the info off the sensor in a eight hundredth of a second. its like an alternative like.. electronic shutter

  • @Sinwori frames per second tell how many frames there are in each passing second. but film camera still need shutter, since then all frames would be exposed just with one speed (1/25, if you'd be shooting 25fps) BUT frames can still be exposed faster. let's say 1/1000th of a second if theres enough light. soone frame is exposed in 1/1000th of a second then it just rests closed until in another 1/25th of a second another frame comes across to be exposed. thats for film, but sensor is sorta same

  • good tips!!! does it allso apply for vidoe TV?

  • The same info applies to TV's which use PAL/NTSC/SECAM signal formats and video recorders which also have different frame rates(24fps/25fps etc)

  • Beware Strobing, ooh Dom you'll have the health & safety Executive on your case

stop it im going to be sick,

    another Good One My Man,

  • Didnt know about that. Thanks for the information.
