Anyone know how exactly they decide on maps? I get that there's a fairly limited number of maps per season, but how do they choose which to use for a given series? Given the repeats (like in this series, Neo-H twice; Bisu v. Fantasy would've had a repeat also), is it random?
I'm a bit shocked that not one of the three commentators considered it a useful exercise to watch the beginning of the game. The overpool and twelve hatch are vastly different builds, which had an important consequence for how the game played out. I like the pregame analysis, but the fact that this analysis carries into the actual game and CONSISTENTLY (e.g., this seems to happen in nearly half Cholera's videos) forces commentators to miss or mistake action in the game is a problem, in my mind.

He wasn't being an asshole. It's called constructive criticism. If they were Commentator Idol contestants they would have been told the same thing. It doesn't mean a lack of respect for what they do, just a bit of feedback.

A possible solution in double/triple commentaries is to have one of the commentators pay attention to the build order while others talk about history/entertain.

Sure, 2 lings for a probe is a good trade, but the failed attack @ 9:05 cost Luxury map control, and allowed Jangbi to expand to a third and fourth base, more than making up for the loss of probes.
Jangbi didn't expand until much, much later, so i don't see a direct link with the 9:05 fight.
After 9:05 fight, Jangbi didn't take advantage by immediately counter-attacking the 10-o'clock expansion with his remaining forces. Maybe, he couldn't do that because of the extra zerglings...
Still, in the long-term, the 9:05 fight ended up being about even or benefited Luxury slightly. After the fight at 11:25, Jangbi was behind though.
With the zergling onslaught @ 9:05, Luxury lost 49 zerglings (~1250 minerals) and he took out 8 probes, a cannon, a forge and two zealots (900 minerals).
Not a good exchange, but a lot better than what Jangbi got with his attack @ 15:15
losing probes is a lot more costly then just their base cost because of the lost production. you lose 6 lings and take out 3 probes you are ahead because probes are more valuable
Losing probes is more costly than losing zerglings in the midgame onward, but that isn't really the case in the early game. The cost of building zerglings at the expense of building drones then losing them is actually greater than the cost of actually building probes then losing them, because at least the probes mined for some of the time. However, replacing probes from two nexuses is, admittedly, more costly than replacing drones from three hatches. Also, delaying the forge upgrade was crucial.
Just watch the Jon747 version and mute it alongside - takes five seconds to sync them up properly but if you really want the qualily that's an easy way to do it.
Yea it was an unforced error...but the placement of the forge was to create a wall in of some sort...it forces units to go around the gateway, because the gateway and the forge create a wall...nevertheless the cannon was still in a weird spot
The ling rushed reminded me of what Combat said and showed in one of his videos...if the toss player doesnt constantly scout, you can do a sort of all in ling rush and catch him off guard

I think Luxury was trying to plague Jangbi's army in the first drop, if you look you'll notice three defilers, thus three swarms, and 3 plagues over the army, getting maybe half of it, softening it up. If he was trying to do damage, he should know that 4 ultras wont do that much verse alot of zealots :P
Remember those 14 or 15 sunkens in natural expo against Flash in last year's OSL. That makes him my favorite player. Haha, he always has something special for us.
One thing I thought they missed (mighta been the lag issues), was Luxury's defiler play @ . He'd station his troops holding the outside of the choke, &-instead of committing lings and a swarm-he moved in the lings w/ a PLAGUE, quickly pulled back out to consume & let plague take it's effect on the lots, THEN went in with the swarm & tech units.
Unlike temps & SVs, defilers are going to die. With this technique, Lux squeezes out the most outta defilers by ensuring a swarm/plague combo
patience, patience - most of the time when people are moaning about no HQ it's just because the vid was freshly uploaded and the HQ version isn't finished processing. When a new video goes online it's not available until it is finished processing. The low quality version, obviously, finishes first and the HQ takes sometimes an hour or more to kick in.
WHOA, that attack of Jangbi's at 15:20 was really suicidal..It was basically a death trap.6-7 lurkers separated around, few sunkens and lings to block.Bad decision..
It doesn't hold as much prestige as winning the the OSL and MSL since many of the opponents are foreigners.
There a lot of good foreigners in the scene but good luck to anyone who versus a progamer that plays Starcraft for a living and his access to some of the best practice partners.
Veste, it isn't really the case that most opponents are foreigners. To even enter the WCG, Luxury had to be in the top three of WCG Korea, which is essentially all pros. Once in the WCG, he had to beat at least one Korean in the finals. You are correct that the WCG doesn't hold the same prestige that the MSL and OSL do, but in all honesty the performance is the same.

This was a great game indeed. Also, I am a great supporter of all three the commentators, sadly enough the quality of the commentating was very poor.

patience, patience - most of the time when people are moaning about no HQ it's just because the vid was freshly uploaded and the HQ version isn't finished processing. When a new video goes online it's not available until it is finished processing. The low quality version, obviously, finishes first and the HQ takes sometimes an hour or more to kick in.

It doesn't hold as much prestige as winning the the OSL and MSL since many of the opponents are foreigners.
There a lot of good foreigners in the scene but good luck to anyone who versus a progamer that plays Starcraft for a living and his access to some of the best practice partners.

Veste, it isn't really the case that most opponents are foreigners. To even enter the WCG, Luxury had to be in the top three of WCG Korea, which is essentially all pros. Once in the WCG, he had to beat at least one Korean in the finals. You are correct that the WCG doesn't hold the same prestige that the MSL and OSL do, but in all honesty the performance is the same.
