  • they look very much alike!

  • BEST BUY is.gd\o3guRH

    Customer Reviews:

If you are familiar with the now legendary Monster series, the new model SNM 035 diver is the next chapter in Seiko's evolution. Having offered for decades many rugged choices to those looking for a quality automatic dive watch, Seiko introduces what is certainly it's grandest model yet. This is the largest and heaviest of any dive watch ...

  • What kind of old shit Seiko is that? All Seiko divers currently on the market are at least 660ft water proof, and they're cheap.

  • How much heavier does the rolex feel compared to the Seiko?

  • How scratch proof is the Seiko?

  • how many beats per hour is the seiko, how many jewels on movement?

  • NEW OFFER tiny.cc\utu8g

    Customer Reviews:

"Outstanding new addition to the Seiko line-up! The fit, finish, and functionality of this watch is exactly what you'd expect from Seiko. I've bought and sold about 70 fine watches over the past 15 years, but only my trust Seiko SKX007 200m diver has remained with me through it all. I mention that because I've always loved the ..."

  • guys Rolex are criminaly overpriced and they are not even close to Seiko quality,im talking about sprong drive Seikos

  • 300 meters is ~ 990 feet, not 660

  • I don't know why you would compare a Seiko with a Rolex? First of all the rotating bezel on the Seiko, if bumped will turn the wrong direction which will cause you too be under water longer than your supposed to be! The bezel is supposed to be unidirectional for your safety! Also the quality of the Seiko doesn't even come close too the Rolex.

  • @Vanquish73 ahahahahahahahahahaha! THAT'S your measure of quality? VOLUME??? LOOOOOL. By that measure, Rolls Royce are a worse car maker than Kia. You've even shot yourself in the foot with your own point about their prices: WHY would a company NEED to increase their prices by 6-10 PERCENT EVERY YEAR?! Why??? Answer: they WOULDN'T! Rolex DO it because THEY CAN, to get MORE and MORE revenue. They are shysters of the highest order, and you've FALLEN FOR THEIR SHIT HOOK, LINE & SINKER!

  • @MechaBalls McDonalds makes the best burger because it makes the most. Lawl.

  • @Boeing747fourhundred Best deal going?? These lower end automatic Seikos are horrible value for $ considering how cheaply & badly made they are. I'm stunned people will pay $150 for one of these! I got mine for $75 new 5 years ago from the same seller who todays has them priced @ $150.

  • All the other sellers offering these were also pricing them at about the same amount back then, around $75, today all these same sellers are doing them for $150. (watch specs, features, build & finish quality, bracelet & movement are all still the same).

Here's the thing: I thought it was poorly made for the $75 I paid then!

It was disappointing then, it's shocking today!

  • this rolex is totally counterfit!!!

  • @senoner90 Is it really? And you can tell that just from a low resolution, poor definition vid? Get some more exclamation marks in there, maybe that will make your rash post a bit more weighty (sarcasm). And the word is "counterfeit"

  • Comment removed

  • Rolex's look like shit. There's a thousand high-end watches I'd rather have.

  • Come on, you know that's needlessly exaggerated hyperbole. I have a lot of disdain for ROLEX but Rolexes don't look like shit, they actually look great & are well made, it's the tackiness of what they represent, the aggressive way they market themselves to try to counteract their lack of history, and most of all the ULTIMATE HYPOCRISY of actively pushing the cult of exclusivity while at the same time mass-producing the most IMMENSE amount of watches of ANY Swiss-based maker which really grates.

  • seiko might have other innovative stuffs, but a knock off is a knock off should not worth buying that watch in the video

  • seiko beats rolex for wearability...Im happy to tinker with my vintage bentley whilst wearing my seiko but only wear my rolex sub for gala dinners or award ceremonies etc!...go figure!

  • @antszabo Surely that's because you're afraid to scratch the expensive Rolex, and not for any other reason! Pretty mundane and obvious, has that surprised anyone? Ever?

  • Seiko sucks the bezel is only supposed to move counter clockwise

  • @gelman912 It's an 82 pound watch, what do you expect. It's not like he is comap

  • I like Rolex then the Seiko. BUT I will use the money to buy Laptop For Gamers.. and Seiko and the money also can buy a G-Shock watch. Rolex=LAPTOP + Seiko + G-Shock. hahaha

  • @alexmaria188 g-shock sucks- gaming laptops suck (build your own) and seiko is a poormans rolex..... and rolex sucks anyways.....Overpriced hunks of swiss shit..... Its all about ulysee nardin..... i got 2 of those and theyre a bagillion times more epic than a daytona or submariner

  • @DestroyTheseWalls Yep, Ulysse Nardin are indeed stunning and classy watches (even if you mis-typed their name), but I wouldn't expect a UN owner to be quite so crass, so my immediate impression is that you don't actually own any Ulysse Nardins, or if you do, you didn't buy them with your own hard-earned wages.

  • @MechaBalls my phone has an autocorrect idk why it fixed Ulysse. And I have a gents maxi marine and a normal maxi. And i worked at a bike shop for a year and after a while i racked up enough sales to buy one. The other i bought with cycling prize money, more bike shop savings, and some money from my parents. I work for my stuff. And the computer was mostly scap hardware XD still badass lol.

  • @DestroyTheseWalls Fair enough, that answer is acceptable to me. :) You are a man of taste and discernment. I would love to own the Freak, but at $70 grand+ ($90,000 retail) it's a bit of a stretch! :)

  • @MechaBalls Just a little bit of stretch, just a little XD. The Freak is very very nice, never seen one, would love to though. While we're talking about stuff we cant afford I would love an Harry Winston Opus 8 would be nice as well, OR a Cabestan Winch Tourbillon, those are sexy lol.

  • @alexmaria188 Yes, Rolexes are expensive. Well spotted.

Rolexes are only for people who do NOT have to make a choice between buying X *OR* Y+Z, because they can afford to buy x AND y AND z.

  • Look at my videoss Ive owned alot of watches 4 Rolex's So far my Omega SMPO keeps better time than all of them. Best watch ive ever purchased. All of you know nothing about watches, you think because a movement hasnt always been in house that it determines the quality of the watch. I guess Vacheron Panerai and AP just suck then because they didnt always have in house movements. When it comes to a sturdy ass watch with a gorgeous swiss movement that wont kill your wallet. Get an omega.

  • @snipeyoass420 Yep, Omegas are nice, and compared to Rolex, excellent value, but then most other watches are good value compared to the over-inflated R. Also, I could say that Oris is better value than Omega, but then Victorinox is better value than Oris. :)

  • You forgot: One of them keeps lousy time, from what I can see...

  • @Asiats1 Of course they are. Seiko: watch manufacturing company founded in 1881. Casio: mainly electronics company that started by making the world's first electric calculators, founded in 1957. They can also apparently build time machines and can travel to pre 1957 to give Seiko their products so Seiko can sell them under their own name.

  • I would be happy to own either of these really nice watches!! Thx for posting.

  • SEIKO!

  • that rolex is fake ! I have one and the extensible is different... and the back is different, first buy a REAL ROLEX then compare it !

  • @herremanxavo1 Not necessarily. The diver's extensions have changed in design over the years. My older sub has a folding extension while my newer one has a ratcheting mechanism built into the clasp.

  • @herremanxavo1 Hahaha! Talk about a noob jumping the gun.

  • Seiko looks a bit nicer to me.

  • @CanadianPatriot86

    agree with you there boss

  • @CanadianPatriot86 This Seiko does look pretty nice, but is VERY cheaply made, and it shows too, if you look a little deeper than a cursory glance.

  • bullshit ORIS are way beter then Rolex. in my country wear them only GYPSY,no kiding.nice watch but way overpriced.Oris,Fortis or Omega is way to go!!!

  • @TheBlazen001 : Are you crazy man?

  • @cedipro LOOOOOL

  • Comment removed

  • @TheBlazen001 : what kind of country is it, where only gypsys know, whats good ?

  • @TheBlazen001 You have absolutely 100% no clue what your talking about. Lmao Oris....

  • Comment removed

  • @TheBlazen001 Stop spamming this video you 18 year old kid your so annoying go do something else you have no idea what your talking about. I see rich people all the time and they never buy rolexs they buy better. Stop fucking whining and bashing brands you cant afford. Grow up seriously

  • shut the fuck up

  • Never, ever trust on a Diver's watch with a bi-directional movement bezel, period.

  • Marketing is an important thing. But not all. Do not compare Hublot or Breitling or even Omega with Rolex. There is no room for comparision. Rolex is a manufacture with in-house movements since long time. Whereas Breitling, Omega or Hublot aren't. Or fo very few time.

I've owned a lot of watches from several manufactures. But I've to say that Rolex is the best money can buy on the market at the moment.

  • @cedipro You also have no idea what your talking about. Congrats

  • @cedipro Sure when comparing Breitling, Hublot and Omega to Rolex they are the better ones. But the best money can buy? You must either know very little about watches or you are just defending your purchase.

Either way Rolex is nothing when compared to the big players like Patek Philippe, Vacheron Constantin and Audemars Piguet. It is just like comparing Seiko to Rolex ;)

Anyways what i wanted to say is that Rolex is in no way a bad manufacturer, it's just that there are alot of better ones

  • Comment removed

  • @cedipro Seiko Grands are better than Rolex's though ;)

  • @cedipro absolute BOLLOX!!!!!

  • SEIKO installed rubber band on 450 $ watch price of rubber - CHEAP.

  • @TheStig000 - SEIKO Sportura Formula 1 with RUBBER bands 450$ watch and 60$ band which breaks every 4-5 Months. Online band costs 60$

Depends on how often you take it off. CASIO Resin bands can last 5-6-7 years.

Rolex is Rolex can not be compared with SEIKO.

  • @aviomaster But we are talking about Grand Seiko now, not a 450 dollars Seiko. Ofcource a 450 dollar Seiko cant compare to a Rolex. But when we are talking about the brand Grand Seiko is the GS brand in an another leuge than Rolex.

  • @aviomaster Ever hear of Grand Seiko? Rolex can't compare to GS.

  • @TheStig000 why not?the in house rolex move. is on every short list of every expert best of list ive ever seen.i mean,i wouldnt pay a rolex price,i use a very good ETA 2824,But that rolex machine is TOP NOTCH.ive never seen an expert opinion that ranks any seiko movement, which i also love, above a rolex in house movement.value is another issue, but for absolute best machine,go swiss currently.swiss is fine, pin point good, durable, superb.there is a difference,i own both.value is by far Seiko

  • @dempsey981 I hope you're aware that some watches that Seiko produces go under more stringent testing than COSC testing that the Swiss watches undergo. Anyone that knows even a little bit about Seiko will tell you that Grand Seiko is a better built watch than Rolex.

  • @TheStig000 i think i know a little bit about Seikos,as i have owned many many over the years, and i think they are well made.am i correct the Grand is using the 6r series move.right?thats the top machine seiko makes is that correct?ok.that move runs at about 21,800/hr.or 6b/sec.right?the swiss movements are running at 28,800,and with ETA the top strata are hand tuned by smiths not robots.beat speed corrolates to accuracy, but both are fine movements.i like ETA,not rolex, over any seiko.

  • @dempsey981 No, Grand Seiko does not use the 6r series. Those are in the mid range Seikos. Grand Seikos use hi beat movements that put the Swiss to shame. In the 1960's Grand Seiko movements ran at 36,000 bph. Also, Grand Seiko movements aren't simply tuned by hand, but completely built by hand. ETA is worse than either Rolex or Seiko movements.

  • @dempsey981 There are only 4000-5000 Grand Seikos produced per year. Rolex makes somewhere around one million units. Grand Seikos are all hand built by expert watch makers. Rolex are mass produced by robots.

  • Grand Seiko is more a kind of a highend brand if you look at the wach assembly which makes by only 19 watchmakers and 6 of them can assembly the Spring drive movement, another thing is their produktions volumes with only 5000 watches per year, fit and finish, their movements and espesially their Spring drive movement which taked 28 years of researching to develop. Rolex is a luxurybrand and not a highend because their watches is massproduced to 1 million watches per year.

  • @MysigFarbror Very true. The only reason people think Seiko is cheap is because they do make low end watches. And one of the biggest reasons why Rolex is considered high end is because of it's price tag and appearance. In reality, Seiko has a higher end product which is far more innovative at a cheaper price.

  • @TheStig000 The Grand Seiko is a most interesting desirable watch, but more than i want to spend, i saw one in ASIA,at around $8k.Its a masterpiece for sure.Btw,ive tuned my ETA very carefully by scope, its capable of nearly perfect time[plus 1 sec max,not per day, thats total variance].they are not joke movements if tweeked hard.mechanicals are fascinating,do you like the SARBO35?

  • @dempsey981 I love the SARB035, but I've never actually seen one in person. But out of the whole SARB line, that's the one I would buy. Looks so close to a Grand Seiko but at a more reasonable price.

  • GS now. Cuz, later, when its more popular, u cant buy even if you want, becuz its hand assembled. Significant labor constraint.

  • GS and rolex is different level. GS is hand assembled watch. How can it be compared to mass produce cheap qaulity rolex. Its just overpriced because the company control the market price. One day, GS will beat the rolex soon, buy GE

  • @powerlim2 GS already beats Rolex. Rolex is for people who want to appear wealthy. GS is for people who want an unbeatable watch. GS is for people who know what they are buying.

  • I see Grand Seiko as more highend than Rolex, and I would buy a Grand Seiko diver SBGA029 before a Submariner every day, every week. Somone wrote about those which want quality and craftmanship will choose a Swiss brand like Rolex. Seriously, Rolex massproduce their watches. They make one million watches per year. Is that exlusivity? Grand Seiko manufactures about 5000 watches per year, and these are handmade by 19 individual working highly skilled watchmakers. Some GS fans even have a autograp

  • @MysigFarbror True. Rolex is seen as high end because of marketing. There are many high/luxury brands that beat Rolex. Ernst Benz, Audemars Piguet, Breitling, , Longines, Omega, Paneri and Hublot are just some of the names. These are all very high quality watches and could probably beat Rolex any day of the week. Rolex are more people that want a status symbol, but don't really know anything about luxury watches.

  • I cant understand why anyone would buy a rolex, when theres omega and other way better watches out ther for less money

  • @jezza1789 Omega has better styling than Rolex imo. And Grand Seiko is a better watch with absolutely fantastic styling and quality.

  • @TheStig000 im gonna try find a sarb035,here in asia,im impressed with the stark simplicity, and quality of build.try looking at tissot too,ya get swiss movement hack, wind,as well as top design, tissot is a great value play.ive always been a seiko guy,but tissot is a new love as well.

  • @jezza1789 Are you really gonna ask the obvious? Because the average Rolex buyer is someone with more money than imagination, conventional or very brash & tacky tastes, ignorant about horology, and Rolex have managed to dupe these ignorant people (not difficult, since they're ignorant - ideal arrangement) into thinking they are the ULTIMATE watch brand, a high end marque by overwhelming the world with advertising.

  • @MechaBalls Yeah I guess your right but if they really have alot of money and wanna show off why not buy an IWC or Coutier which are much better looking and really expensive aswell.

  • @jezza1789 Because (do I need to spell it out again?) 1. They HAVE NO TASTE and 2. Are IGNORANT in matters of horology, thus they: 1. think that Rolex is the ultimate in watch status symbols, and 2. Think that Rolex is the Ultimate in watches, technically. They can't even imagine that there are other watches that are more show-off worthy. See? Admittedly, SOME Rolex owners are ppl with a collection of many other fine watches so will have 1 or 2 Rolexes just to have a more "complete" collection.

  • @MechaBalls lol that was funny. Oh well atleast they afford one, all I have is citizen, tissot and 1 Tag that I hardly wear for fear of scratching it. Yes Im broke.

  • @jezza1789 Yeah, they can afford one, but so what? Money isn't a measure of anything, not the worth of a person, nor even the measure of their happiness. I am prepared to bet that you get more enjoyment out of your Tag when you do wear it (or even when you just handle it and admire it at home - come on, you know you do! :)) than that kind of person (rich, tasteless and ignorant) does from their overpriced Rolexes.

  • @Boeing747fourhundred It may be a good deal but in the big wide world of dive watches you would be laughed at for a $1000 watch. If you consider that $100,000 watches aren't that abnormal. Rolex are actually one of the cheapest and best manufacturers on the market.

  • @freshlineproductions I don't think you'll find any commercial divers with a $100,000 watch. They are probably wearing G-Shocks or Citizens/Seikos. Rolex is a desk diver. Not a tool watch.

  • @TheStig000 i dive with a deep sea once a month over 1000 feet. Never once has it let me down. I practically owe my life to my watch. If it breaks underwater and i have no clue that i need to come up i would drown. believe me i could be dead by now if i were to dive with a seiko. as for "Desk diver" yes i wear it to work because it's a beautiful watch, just a shame the same can't be said for the copycat seiko models. I don't see how wearing an ugly watch appeals to you?

  • @freshlineproductions I never said that Rolex makes a bad watch. It's just that Seiko makes a damn fine watch for a fraction of the price. For deep sea diving I'd probably wear either a Rolex or a Professional grade 600m+ Seiko. Both watches would perform just fine. But for anything 200m and above, a Rolex is overkill and overpriced. Also, plenty of Seikos are beautiful to look at. Check out the Marine Master.

  • @TheStig000 Obviously, you'll get well-off people diving with Rolex Subs for leisure, but no working divers would. And actually not too many pros would use Seikos, at least DEFINITELY not this low end model. For one, it's only rated to a super-lame basic 100M. For another, the bi-directional bezel. Ha ha ha ha!

  • @MechaBalls I'd never go diving in a 100M watch. Shit, I wouldn't go swimming in one. I know for a fact though, that there are professional divers that use Seiko and Citizen for decades and never have an issue.

  • @TheStig000 Yeah, I should have emphasized more that I meant no pro diver would use this or any other similarly badly-made bottom end Seikos, but yes, they likely WOULD use Seiko's proper, professional 600M divers, as you say. Seiko do make a lot of great watches, it's just that this isn't one of them.

  • @MechaBalls I agree entirely. The Seiko pictured here is a good desk diver but not a true diver. Just looks pretty. I wouldn't trust my life to it, that's for sure. I'd be perfectly comfortable with a professional Seiko OR a Rolex though. But if I was buying, I'd buy the professional Seiko every time.

  • When you need a rolex to feel good... u are a poor man!

  • Patek Phillipe

A fool and his money are soon parted.

  • Rolex = Rich man's Seiko. ;)

  • @Boeing747fourhundred you are an idiot ANY watch brand needs servicing at regular intervals especially automatics, seiko is no more reliable than rolex or tag etc, engage your brain

  • @herbert101 Yes but complicated and inferior Swiss movements require servicing sooner than robust Japanese movements. Swiss movements are also more expensive to service.

  • @herbert101 Yes Swiss watches may need for servicing. But I think that is the same more most German/European products vs the Japanese. Citizen/Seiko vs Tissot/Rolex BMW vs Honda. Both make great products, just one is designed with a set and forget mindset, the other requires constant attention

  • @Boeing747fourhundred

You don't understand sh*t about marketing. People with big wallets pay big prices. Rolex is a way of life, it's for many people a status symbol. Thats why they can ask those prices.

  • @Jointz77 Some people don't give a shit about marketing...Maybe because it's bullshit.

  • To be fair, when I first made serious money, I gave up my Seiko for a Rolex. Then I started noticing other people who were making money also had a sub or GMT. So I got an IWC and, then a Bremont, I felt a bit better about myself then as I could see people admiring my taste. The Rolex might seem expensive but really it's just a few hours work for some of us. I'm only kidding guys. Be happy

  • seiko=poor man rolex

  • @saintEmory Rolex = Poor mans Patek

  • Cheap Hong Kong Crap...!

  • How can that Seiko be a divers watch when the bezel is bidirectional...?

  • Is the bezel broken on the Seiko? I work for Seiko and all of our dive models are unidirectional just like the Rolex. I personally own the 7S36 in a stainless SAMURAI model. Sweet watch.

  • @xhdc43x9 It is *sort of* a genuine Seiko, and no, the bezel isn't broken, it's like that on this model. It's not a Japan-made Seiko diver, it's made in Korea or Singapore or somewhere in SE Asia that has low labour costs, *possibly* by a non-Seiko factory under license. It's a low end model intended only for certain markets, not quite sure which, possibly only SE Asia, but obviously, with ebay, the whole world has access to these now as grey imports.

Where is it that you work for Seiko?

  • Rolex = Investment

Seiko = Small Investment and Daily Watch

    ;)

  • they almost look the same

  • I'll take the Seiko every time. And spend the rest on a really nice used Harley Sportster....

  • @ukfan4sure1 You can get a really decent used car in Germany(or anywhere else) with the price difference between the Seiko and the Rolex :D

  • good vid..hope you didnt scuff them up on that wood though

  • the rolex' bezel makes a much fartier noise when rotated

  • one thing i like on the Seiko better is the illumination on the hour marks..they are bigger.

  • I know that rolex are a fluid sweep of the second hand and I think that would be expensive to achieve in a mechanical watch but I had a look at a vintage citizen in my collection the other day that is an automatic watch and also has a fluid sweep and it is a jap movement so the japanese make very nice movements

  • how much whounld both of the wastches be in us doller i ben thinking about a rolexs

  • You guns that dont get it, never will. Watches, who needs watches my HTC phone rapes any watch out there. It resets its time accordingly to daylight savings, and automatically changes when I enter new time zones. Which watch can do that?

Why is it that even with a ubr phone I still have a Rolex DD? To tell the time? No, not quite. If after saying all that you guys still dont get why you buy a Rolex. Then you never will...

    (rolex forums sir_chris)

  • @xchrisbobisx

People buy Rolex's to show off to other people; to tell everyone you got money and probably are successful. That's pretty much it.

  • @OrangePHX

pretty much, so i dont understand how some people are so stupid that they dont know. a watch is a watch a tool, but a rolex has prestige, craftsmanship, heritage, quality, and will make you happy a seiko will not. you buy one because you feel compelled to own one, you desire it and daydream for years until you finally get it. telling the time? i sometimes still get confused telling 7:40 from 8:40 with a quick glance...but oh well!

  • @xchrisbobisx Well it's not necessarily going to make you happy. The reason why Seiko is not looked at the same is because they sell cheaper watches as well, whereas Rolex only sells expensive ones. Seiko has watches that have more technology and are better (Grand Seiko) than the Rolex, but it still doesn't give off that same image. There is a lot of marketing to it. Also, for some reason, people tend to like European things over Japanese. Sadly, a lot of the time it becomes a racial issue.

  • @OrangePHX

One thing about "fine things" is that they are mechanical masterpieces, not technological. And image comes with marketing yes, when "Rolex" has become a staple and people use to word almost like if its definition was "King" or "Best in class" then your going to pay for their branding. I still really want a daydate, even though it looks almost the same as my datejust but cost 5x more. Why? I dont know just because. Many people feel that way, thats why Rolex still sells. Vanity maybe.

  • @xchrisbobisx Yeah, Rolex does give off that feeling of luxury. I do believe that it is vanity too. However, when I was saying technological, I was talking mechanical too. IE, look at Seiko's spring drive. Seiko is a master at mechanics too. Their mechanics may even surpass Rolex. The area Seiko loses to Rolex in is the name & the perception people have of the brand. The people's perception of the brand is what allows Rolex to sell their watches for more and have people believe it's worth it.

  • @xchrisbobisx You can get a watch that can do that (IE Citizen JY0075-54E or any other radio controlled watch).

And Rolex is not the best watch maker for sure! I would always prefer an IWC instead of a Rolex. You can't compare a Seiko and a Rolex that aren't in the same class, compare a Rolex to a Spring Drive like suggested by Orange...

  • @tikipyky

reason i dont like seiko and citizen is because they blatantly have a rolex knockoff. Any company that knocks off another company is not worthy of any attention because if they really had any creativity or skill then they would make a watch of their own instead of catering to the "poor mans" version of these watches. rolex is not the best, ferrari is not the fastest, LV is not the most luxurious but they are the embodiment of a "gold standard" and thats impressive in its own right

  • @xchrisbobisx There are some that are similar with Rolex, but most of them aren't :).

And IMHO, a lot of divers look like the submariner, so...

  • @xchrisbobisx you are wrong - seiko has made the most innovations in terms of watch technology, they just happen to have watches in the whole price range. they also have higher-end pieces such as the credor and the grand seiko.

  • @kraskata2012 Audemars Piguet has made the most advances in horological technology. Seiko's real claim to fame, is the manufacture of the first quartz watches. Kudos to them for making the watch industry dull for 40 years.

  • The Rolex is silly for the price when this inexpensive Seiko compares so well to it.

  • one day ill buy both of these watches

  • @ToothyGus Lol. Lofty aims, my friend. A $150 Seiko? Better start saving up! (P.S. I have the Seiko, and it's crappy. For the same money this costs, I have subsequently bought 3 other watches that have ALL been better in EVERY way: MUCH better built, better looking, more satisfying to own and to use )well built, proper uni-directional ratchet bezel, impervious SAPPHIRE crystal, quality straps, not the shocking folded-links horror that this has! Stay well away.

  • I'll bet most of the people here bragging up the Rolex drive a Lexus or Infiniti, and are typing on a Sony or Toshiba computer.

Everyone realizes the excellence of Japanese products...except when it comes to watches. Some still stubbornly believe that the Swiss are on top. Why can't people believe that the Japanese can produce an EXCELLENT watch?

The Japanese beat BMW and Mercedes at their own game...is it possible that the beat Rolex, too??

  • Think of the Rolex as a nice, top-shelf BMW. Think of the Seiko as a Toyota Camry. One will perform somewhat better, be super pricey, have parts that are way expensive, cost way more to service, and be much more finicky. The other will have somewhat lower performance, be quite inexpensive, cost nothing to service, and be bullet-proof. Which is better? Depends on WHY you are buying it.

You could literally buy 40 of that particular Seiko for what the Rollie costs, and have money to spare.

  • Seiko is better one

  • Another nice and cheap diver to compare to these is the Timex T29781. Looks just like these watches but priced around $50 (when you can find one). I have the Seiko SKX007 with Type IIc soild oyster band (great combo). My Rolex Submariner has the blue face, but I rarely wear it.

  • I would take the Seiko over the Rolex any day. It shows that I'm smarter with my money and keep more of it.

  • What seiko is this i cant find it by searching " seiko diver 100" is thise a modded SKX007. Could u give me the name or a link where to buy this beautiful watch????

  • @thekrone89 its SKX031 ;)

  • which camera do you used?

  • Who doesn't like a Rolex...however...for the money...you simply cannot beat the Seiko...it looks good (similar to a submariner), its durable, its reliable...and if you break it or lose it...its not a huge problem...they're well priced...buy another. But if money is absolutely not an issue...yes...get a Rolex. By the way...I bought a fake Rolex from China (GMT Sub)...looks exactly like the original (nice job)...only lighter and slightly inconsistant time wise...but I prefer wearing my Seiko.

  • I'm from Japan but I wear a Rolex but not a Sub. Nowadays wristwatches are just accessaries due to the widespread acceptance of mobile phones. Wearing a Seiko is joyless for me.

  • Bezel moving sounds like Peter Griffin farts

  • Only a shallow, materialistic idiot would spend thousands of dollars for an item that is sub par in regards to time keeping just to say they own a "Rolex"!

  • I have owned several Submariners, GMT masters and a slew of other watches including IWC, Breitling, Agassiz, Universal Geneve etc. and have recently been turned onto Seikos. In all frankness the Seiko keeps better time albeit vintage. I have had to service my IWC Doppel Chronograph 4 times in ten years. Each Rolex lost time. The GMT had to be serviced for a weak pulse. So far the Seiko has out performed the others as a reliable time piece. I still think the Submariner is the best looking.

  • Go play with ur fake rolex

  • You can't compare a Rolex to that pathetic duplicate.

  • @mariliza1979 - MY Grandfather has a manual winding NIVADA watch swiss made he got for his retirement in 1981 it still works like NEW never been to the watch repair shop.

My friend 7 months ago bought SEIKO 450$ with rubber band band broke in 3 places after 7 months.

50$ Casio Resin bands will last 7-8 years what you say about that ?

  • @aviomaster What model was it? The bands that you get with Seiko dive watches are far superior to Casio bands. I had a hard time cutting one with a knife that can shave hair off my arm.

  • i bought a fake rolex 2 yrs ago for the price of seiko. i never had any problem except that it gains about a minute in each week. also has power reserve of 48 hrs. i recently bought another one which has problems ... it stops at 45 once in a while especially when low powered. i still prefer the fake rolex till someday i can afford the real one.

  • my seiko kinetic is 0.5secs faster than the atomic time server after 3 weeks from syncing, it is 11 years old and has the original capacitor. This watch also survived many trips to the sauna and swimming in the ocean and is currently in use as my everyday watch and is more accurate than any other watch I have. I would consider Seiko to be superior to any swiss watch I have seen on the market.

  • lol at the idiots who buy a fucking rolex. the seiko is JUST AS GOOD.

  • @plasticspastic201 Some Seikos are as good, some are better. But this particular Seiko is super-crappy. Poorly made, cheap bad steel, crappy bezel without a ratchet system. Looks cheap too if you know where to look. The bracelet is horrendous. Bad all round. It LOOKS GREAT from the front though - especially if not used, to avoid scratching and denting its cheap, low quality soft steel.

  • So yo can actually submerge a watch with 100 meters of water resistance?

  • DOXA were the pioneers here, Rolex did a good copy.... (runs and hides in flameproof cave)

  • SEIKO = value for money

  • @EHO3EX Exceptionally POOR value for money. See my other posts. I am seriously considering doing a full, detailed review to expose everything that is wrong with this particular model.

  • I thought every Rolex had pass the COSC tests.

  • @iPhoqueTheSystem You are absolutely right. But Seiko has SURPASSED the tests. In fact, the very reason why it doesn't take part in the COSC is because it was banned for shaming the Swiss in their own game. The Grand Seiko itself has a higher standard than the required in the COSC.
