ok i lived in coventry for 17 years okay some coventry people can be a little bit pesomistic but coventry has smarten up a bit over the years and its an ok place to go out, its not as bad as people say it is.

I moved here from B'ham 3 years ago. Hated it at 1st but it's grown on me. There are chavs, horrible looking buildings and crime but there is also a good music scene, some top pubs and lots of green parks so that almost weighs out the bad! I think the city centre is ugly and crap for shopping (I prefer to go to B'ham Bullring) & there are only about 3 nightclubs which are full of young chavs so I also go to B'ham if I want to go clubbing. Cov is good for going to gigs and grungy/indie pubs after

I grew up in coventry, there is a certain uniqueness about coming from there that you cant explain to outsiders. Other coventrians will know what I'm talking about. When you meet a fellow cov kid anywhere in the world you give each other that certain look and the nod :)

Cov was very violent and rough in the 80s and 90sbut it looks like its not too bad there now. Left in 97 but will always be proud of my city.

I recently went backpacking through Germany with a friend and we met 4 people from Coventry. They were really a blast and nice people. I'm sure like any city, Coventry has great parts and bad parts alike. I've lived in a lot of places and I've never seen a city that is truly "safe" or "dangerous." You just have to make good decisions when going out.

We do not have 'An olympic sized pool' For many years it was thought to be just that, but a few years ago a lazer measurement revealed it was a couple of inches short! Thats why no official time trials are held at Cov. That, and because it's difficult to get a decent time when you have to manoeuvre thru an obstacle course of rip off burberry baseball caps. After living in Coventry for 6 and a bit years i had the best youth days of my life although i took alot of drugs and became an alchaholic by time i was 16 i moved back to glasgow at 19 to sort myself out which i have done well on and i actually do miss the place ps but not Stoke Aldermoor. i Drank in the Hope and Anchor, Were The Enemy done gigs i was to much into UK Garage whish is shit to care of their grat music. Hey they forgot the crater at the back of Primark, Ooooh and how about next to Axa where India cottage and the Parsons nose used to be, I think that's where all the squatters live. There is just so many lovely places they should have included. Best advice to students, do better with your a levels, get into Warwick Uni and move to Leamington.

That's an outrageous piece of deception to portray Coventry as an attractive place to visit. It's actually a horrible shit-hole.

Most of it's inhabitants are mental home escapees, they really need help big time.

i think cov is actually pretty good, its a safe, small and easy city with one of the best music scenes in the country. loads of businesses and government departments are relocating here, and best of all its a very cheap place to live. lots is happening in the city and there's a fair few bus loads of tourists turning up everyday to see the sights

it gets a bad rep cos its a little bit different, lots of people really like it here and many stay after going to uni.
