If I ever have a catastrophic falling out with my family, or I start getting on really, *really* well with my family, I'm having this played at my funeral.
@ryuu1988 There's an order to the madness. This EP is not a good one to start with if you're getting into hardcore. Too experimental for the untrained ear. I recommend Miss Machine and Calculating Infinity by DEP.
@AktionF1413 Men listen to real metal, not kids screaming like little girls about the "best they've ever had". And when they make bands, they are man-enough to use musical theory, structure, and inspiration to create something innovative and engaging.
@ryuu1988 dillinger is actually really structured and pretty complex when you look beneath the vocals. It takes a lot of talent and creativity to do what they do. enough to get someone like mike patton to want to work with them, who by the way isn't some 'screaming kid.' If you're older than 13 then you've heard of faith no more and other shit he's done, all of it very structured and unique. too bad you probably couldn't comprehend anything beyond easy vocals and simple guitar riffs.
@ryuu1988 i just lol'd really hard. There are very few bands out there that are capable of what DEP has done. And akition's right, if you're older than thirteen, you should know Mike Patton's not some screaming kid...
@ryuu1988 I'm acknowledging the irony of you listening to Coheed and talking about "manly" vocals. That dude's voice is more high pitched than most women. Irony is a dead scene.
@ryuu1988 Did you even listen to the song in its entirety? Making a stupid comment like that i take that you are not a musician(not a real one at least) By the way, Mike Patton might just be the greatest vocalist on planet earth(Yeah, God just told me yes)!! Stop talking BS!
I'd also say that this sort of song has more in common with the likes of Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa than it does with traditional metal. Listen to Trout Mask Replica and then listen to the first half of this song - it's not far removed at all, just taken to a more extreme level.
@4:10 the sounds he makes are incredible. One of the most talented vocalists of this generation for sure. Not just this...his whole body of work from the 80's up. Cant even tell its him if you didnt know already
@danvanism@1crustymathartist are you guys fucking serious.mike patton can do any style of music. thats all hes done since he was a kid. he is one of the greatest vocalist of all time.
combining jazz and metal is something tht is really unique about this clip...its really got a mix of time signatures...nd its really something nd cant be beat ...go mike patton
What better way to start a song then "Im the best you'll ever have" lol amazing song, if you dont like it dont listen, i love the transition around 3:32.
I like Patton but that's not a reason to diss Greg, the current singer.
He's doing a great job, he brought diversity in the vocals compared to the former singer.
That's said, I have to agree that Patton did a terrific job with the vocals on this EP. By the way, he didn't compose the instrumental part, DEP are just great.
@borkug I think Greg Puciato has some of the most unique screams, and cleverly unique clean vocal lines of anyone I've heard. Greg is Mike Patton and Trent Reznor's vocal love child with his own little quirks through in there. Greg has never let me down.
@kyletheenigma You are aware of the fact that this is Mike Patton right??? I saw DEP open for Bungle in santa cruz ages ago.. Puciato was full of energy but just a screemer.. Latest record sounds like Fugazi!! Love DEP!!
One of the best songs EVER. PATTON SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT THIS FUCKING BAND IT ALL WENT DOWNHILL FROM HERE. PATTON RETURN TO THEM IMMEDIATELY THEIR NEW SHIT SUCKS BALLS.
The Voloume levels are messed up big time .........To musch base in some places the vocals to loud in others ...............Wicked song other than the anoying volume levels
I got to see this ep live, they covered Justin Timberlake's Justified i think it was. and "Malpractice" from faith no more. Played with Jello Biafra fronting for The Melvins.
