  • Better than puciato by far.

  • It'd be fucktastic if they teamed up again.

  • FUHK YEAH!!! MIKE PATTON IS A GOD AND DILLINGER ARE TRULY IMMORTAL \m/

  • If I ever have a catastrophic falling out with my family, or I start getting on really, *really* well with my family, I'm having this played at my funeral.

  • one of the best songs in the world ....

  • Best headbanging song ever, trust my neck!

  • THIS SONG IS AWESOME!!! One of my all time favorites!

  • MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY

  • @ryuu1998 You...are really bad.

  • this....is really bad.

Sounds like they're flailing around on the guitars at random.... and the vocalist.... doesn't seem to understand what vocals are.......

I saw these guys open up for coheed live and thought they were bad live. ...I guess they're just bad in general.

  • @ryuu1988

Thank you for taking the time to write this response. I will make sure to consider it when listening to music in the future. Your opinion matters!

  • @ryuu1988 There's an order to the madness. This EP is not a good one to start with if you're getting into hardcore. Too experimental for the untrained ear. I recommend Miss Machine and Calculating Infinity by DEP.

  • @ryuu1988 You can't handle the manliness.

  • @AktionF1413 Men listen to real metal, not kids screaming like little girls about the "best they've ever had". And when they make bands, they are man-enough to use musical theory, structure, and inspiration to create something innovative and engaging.

  • @ryuu1988 dillinger is actually really structured and pretty complex when you look beneath the vocals. It takes a lot of talent and creativity to do what they do. enough to get someone like mike patton to want to work with them, who by the way isn't some 'screaming kid.' If you're older than 13 then you've heard of faith no more and other shit he's done, all of it very structured and unique. too bad you probably couldn't comprehend anything beyond easy vocals and simple guitar riffs.

  • @ryuu1988 Men take it in turns buttfucking your mother with claw hammers whilst listening to this song.

  • @ryuu1988 i just lol'd really hard. There are very few bands out there that are capable of what DEP has done. And akition's right, if you're older than thirteen, you should know Mike Patton's not some screaming kid...

  • @ryuu1988 I'm acknowledging the irony of you listening to Coheed and talking about "manly" vocals. That dude's voice is more high pitched than most women. Irony is a dead scene.

  • @csmith0191 fucking awesome responts man, FTW!!!!

  • @ryuu1988 Did you even listen to the song in its entirety? Making a stupid comment like that i take that you are not a musician(not a real one at least) By the way, Mike Patton might just be the greatest vocalist on planet earth(Yeah, God just told me yes)!! Stop talking BS!

  • @ryuu1988 that vocalist is the all mighty Mike Patton and he is an superb at what he does.

  • Definately the most versatile vocalist ever....MIKE FUCKING PATTON!

  • I love Patton and TDEP but i genuinely don't "get" this song, i know i'm gonna get destroyed but i don't understand it!

  • @nokroblosho It's about sitting in a diner and wondering what it would be like to kill everyone.

  • I'd also say that this sort of song has more in common with the likes of Captain Beefheart and Frank Zappa than it does with traditional metal. Listen to Trout Mask Replica and then listen to the first half of this song - it's not far removed at all, just taken to a more extreme level.

  • Don't really like Dillinger Escape Plan usually, but this EP was great and this song in particular is superb.

  • This band in my opinion ain't nothing without Patton.

  • Ce pauvre Mike Patton, il va vraiment finir par se casser la voix !

  • mike patton was the greatest thing that happened to this band

  • @pianoraccoon Greg Puciato is not bad really.

  • Am I the only one who thinks Mike Patton should stay in this band!?

  • @chemtrailstacoma2011 umm, too late...

  • 1:11= MOMMY! MOMMY! WAAAAOOOOherekittykittykitty = fuck YES. It's like having your brain scrambled in reverse. Mike is a HUGE inspiration.

  • Patton came on stage during Dillinger's set in San Francisco 2 days ago and performed this song with them while opening for Mastodon.

    Fucking sick show.

  • @4:10 the sounds he makes are incredible. One of the most talented vocalists of this generation for sure. Not just this...his whole body of work from the 80's up. Cant even tell its him if you didnt know already

  • @danvanism @1crustymathartist are you guys fucking serious.mike patton can do any style of music. thats all hes done since he was a kid. he is one of the greatest vocalist of all time.

  • *erratic head banging"

  • Does anyone think that around 2:15 it sounds like the Silversun Pickups?? Now don't get mad, i know this came before them lol just an observation.

  • @IfightUFC only if the only ethereal music you've ever heard is Silversun.

  • @nicktaxidermy i thought this was math metal?? or is it mixed?

  • @IfightUFC the slow, quiet part borders on ethereal music.

  • combining jazz and metal is something tht is really unique about this clip...its really got a mix of time signatures...nd its really something nd cant be beat ...go mike patton

  • 3:35 and onwards, perfection

  • I love this song so much! Although, Option Paralysis is excellent, probably my favorite album of any band ever, so far.

  • @Kupo365 I personally agree with everything you just said. Option Paralysis is amazing!

  • I'm still a huge fan of The Dillinger Escape Plan, but I honestly think they peaked with this EP. It will never be topped. Fantastic.

  • What better way to start a song then "Im the best you'll ever have" lol amazing song, if you dont like it dont listen, i love the transition around 3:32.

  • BEST ALBUM EVER MADE ... ty mike !

  • people laugh at me when i say DEP is the best band to come around in the last 15 years or so

  • @curtisawesum That's because there's no need to mention it.

  • @travisforencich whatever music you listen somebody could say the same toyou...

  • @travisforencich is your brain having trouble processing it

  • @travisforencich people probly think the same to music you listen to so why be a dick

  • @travisforencich garbage to the weak minded

  • @travisforencich No this is considered perfection.

  • @travisforencich Probably if you had a positive attitude towards it, you might find it somewhat better. Unless you're just plainly deaf.

  • 3:25

  • sun, shine. you're, mine!

  • Love D.E.P love Mr. Bungle, Love this.

  • what a drummer! love this song and love mike patton!

  • im hungry still

  • am I the only one who just jams the fuck out during the MOMMY chants?

  • @MasterNoodlez Fuck no. I'm with you on that one.

  • Pretty amazing song, this.

  • I like Patton but that's not a reason to diss Greg, the current singer.

He's doing a great job, he brought diversity in the vocals compared to the former singer.

That's said, I have to agree that Patton did a terrific job with the vocals on this EP. By the way, he didn't compose the instrumental part, DEP are just great.

  • @borkug That's basically what I call a relevant comment! TY!!!

  • @borkug I fully agree with you

  • @borkug I think Greg Puciato has some of the most unique screams, and cleverly unique clean vocal lines of anyone I've heard. Greg is Mike Patton and Trent Reznor's vocal love child with his own little quirks through in there. Greg has never let me down.

  • @kyletheenigma You are aware of the fact that this is Mike Patton right??? I saw DEP open for Bungle in santa cruz ages ago.. Puciato was full of energy but just a screemer.. Latest record sounds like Fugazi!! Love DEP!!

  • HERE KITTY KITTY KITTY KITTY KITTY..... MOOOOMMMY MOMMMY MOOOMMMY MOMMMYY. Patton... you sick bastard (Y)

  • You know, Patton was only a guest in DEP, on this little EP - Irony Is A Dead Scene.

  • You know, Patton was only a guest in DEP, on this little EP - Irony Is A Dead Scene.

  • I just raped this CD !

  • @HannaPdP No, this CD just raped you.

  • @mjrupps oh snap !

  • I agree \/\/\/\/ they should never have parted, the new guy cant even do this song well.

  • One of the best songs EVER. PATTON SHOULD NEVER HAVE LEFT THIS FUCKING BAND IT ALL WENT DOWNHILL FROM HERE. PATTON RETURN TO THEM IMMEDIATELY THEIR NEW SHIT SUCKS BALLS.

  • @0m Really, i think they're doing great. It's better than making the same the same album every time

  • who really cares about volume levels when a song of this magnitude is coming at you?

  • @loskaruna LMAO I KNOW DUDE FOR REAL

  • The Voloume levels are messed up big time .........To musch base in some places the vocals to loud in others ...............Wicked song other than the anoying volume levels

  • 8 people got hit by the cat that Mike Patton swung

  • Comment removed

  • @Mikzuu94 I would give him so much money to do so.

  • The 8 People That Dislike This Always Get There ass's Kicked in the Pit

  • @Fleshandmaggot lmfao

  • is it.. mommy mommy mommy mommy mommy?

  • @lakelful yes it is

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!

  • I don't even like Dillinger Escape Plan and this still kicks ass.

  • @BomanTheBear thanks for honesty with out being a dick

  • my favorite song of all time.

  • 3:25 onwards is sheer goose-bump laden perfection.

  • Forgot how ballsy this song gets. Good times.

  • Fuckin Yeeeeeeesss !!!

  • BAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • umph

  • im gonna listen to this when i get high in a little while it just sounds so crazy and mind fucktastic when im not high so just imagine!

  • I wanted Mike Patton to play Willy Wonka.

  • mike patton + anything he fucking does = AWESOME

  • This should be played at karaoke.

  • I got to see this ep live, they covered Justin Timberlake's Justified i think it was. and "Malpractice" from faith no more. Played with Jello Biafra fronting for The Melvins. It was new years eve a while back, it was amazing, Confetti fell everywhere at midnight. jello dove off the stage and we couldn't pick him up! I love shows.

  • This is massive genius

    I can't stop listening

  • Mike Patton + The Dillinger Escape Plan = EPIC WIN!!!!!!!!

  • I agree. ....I'm The Best You Ever Had.

  • Around these parts a fly can live a thousand years...

  • Not just one of the best things DEP have done, but one of the best things Mike Patton has done as well.

  • one of the all time great metal songs utterly unique brave challenging and inspiring

the imagination and scope it must take to write music like this is unreal bands like mastodon the dillinger escape plan converge botch(rip) baroness are the future of heavy music no gimmicks no uniforms no fashion conscience boyoos from the valleys speaking with American accents just great bands striving to restore credibility to heavy music

  • though i like dimitri and i even like greg but, patton and DEP are a match made in heaven... so good!

  • Mike Patton is a fucking psychotic genius.

  • If you are able to see through the pure insanity of this song, it is truly brilliant. looking up what the lyrics helps with that.

  • The first two minutes of this song are absolutely ridiculous, could you get any more intense?

  • MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY MOMMY...

  • Around these parts a fly can live---

A fly can live a thousand years

but a man cannot die soon enough, true enough

A smiling drunk nursing a glass of milk

A girl with a face like prison bread

Over the kitchen noise I hear them howl at me

A scabby ketchup bottle and a two-dollar bill

I guess it's time to pay the bill, but you know I never will

    I'm hungry still...

RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY RUN AWAY

  • God, this song is insane.

  • I'm so getting a when-good-dogs-do-bad-things-tattoo.

  • Iron is a dead scene has to be the best work the DEP came out with :)

  • this is clearly the best song ever made.

  • @Aguadomusic truer words? never spoke.

  • @Aguadomusic When the song ended, I said "best song ever" and then scrolled down and saw your comment :)

  • @1crustymathartist poser.

  • Someone obviously doesn't appreciate good music.

  • Respond to this video... fuk a mike patton

  • from like 2:09....

    pure sex.

amazing. Then the way it just kicks back in again.

    Best musical combo EVER.

  • una mente deslumbrante, con un grupo barbaro, esto mucho de lo que deveria de haber hoy en dia, pero solo pocos se atreven a realizarlo, .. viva patton

  • Comment removed

  • i hit the replay button 4 times now X] [and counting]

  • once this song hits 3:26 i go crazy everytime. that never gets old. DEP is sooo fucking talented.

  • I'm nothing more than

    The best you'll never have

A speck on your bedroom wall

    A blood red waterfall

THE BEST YOU WILL EVER HAVE

  • Patton really underplays his lyric-writing skills. He always says "Yeah, I just write stuff that fits the music patterns", but these lyrics (and many of Bungle's) are just pure poetry!

  • god is patton.

  • blow smoke rings straight back in time...

  • check out the lyrics, now that's a sardonic irony for ya (:

  • best DEP is with Mike Patton

  • The Run Away part makes me want to break everything around me, fuck it's just so powerful.

  • This is the bees knees. I bow to this display of absolute awesomeness. It doesnt get any better music and lyrics are beyond anything the Mainstream puts on the radio nowadays. Seriously: In this crowded room / I could swing a cat / and not even hit a soul / its just a lonely vacuum of human black holes. Nuff said.

  • i think it would be epic if Mike sung Panasonic Youth with DEP, that would be awesome

  • Patton is the shit

  • vocals at 4:11 are amazing

  • i guess its time to pay the bill

but you know i never will

    i'm hungry still

  • you're the brilliant wise guy who had to pick apart and explain the joke, smart ass.

have a " SMD " for good measure.

  • heredoggydoggydoggydoggydoggy

  • @Scratch47 I think it's kitty actually.

  • This whole song is fantastic, but starting at around 3:24 is amazing and so pretty.

  • @pseudocaveman Oh, come on, at least say 2:05.

  • Okay that maybe sounds embarrassing but what means "lmao"? :P

  • @PaperWeightPig lmao = Laughing My Ass Off

  • ah okay thanks :P

  • @PaperWeightPig .. you're a jerk.. an idiot..god dam :'D .. you're being so fucking stupid.. :D:D

  • @floyddango haha oliviér grobîn hat ein minus bekommen haha oh man das nächste mal überlegst du es dir bestimmt 2 mal bevor du so was tust :D

  • ROFLMAO

  • Lmao, yeah man, that was the joke.

    It was.. sarcasm.

  • @danzig5 Brilliant

  • WTF ? Who DOESN'T fall into their knees?

    lmao.

  • @danzig5 generally people fall ONto their knees, smartass

have a lmao for good measure

  • goddamnit i love this song! I memorized the lyrics a long time ago.... :P I like the live version better (to that weird video with the stretching and whatnot) over the album one but they both are freaking awesome, especially since this one has a projector. I like the higher pitched "MOMMY"'s though over the low ones here

  • good thing he evolved from epic haha that songs kinda lame, but without it, we wouldn't be here, so I'm thankful haha

  • sure...

  • the part i love about this song is how Patton and DEP incorporated the sound of a projector in the background of the music... Pure Genius. wish Mike Patton would of stayed with DEP and made more music.

  • That album is awesome.

Man i wish patton did some new stuff with them. I mean, i like how they sound and work now, but i want to hear some more mike there.

  • *orgasm*

  • I honestly think that Mike should've stayed with them. He should do some new albums with them.

  • This is the same guy who sand Epic.

We have found the second coming, and he is Patton.

  • patton is god.
