  • The Brit soldiers ran amock during the illegal curfew, smashing elderly women's windows, raiding homes and wrecking them. They assaulted women, men and children, wantonly and maliciously smashing religious statues and holy relics, laughing as they terrorised the people of the Falls.

On 5th July, the women of the district left their homes, and despite being threatened and manhandled, they went about their business. The Brits even threatened to open fire. That was the curfew ended.
