  • the tagalog language is always annoying to hear. it sounds obnoxious due to the sharp pronunciation of their words. Now french on the other hand...mmm very pleasant.

  • for sharpening a short knife, he charges P50.00

  • Why do people pay for such a basic thing is it hard to find a sharpener in stores. I payed $15 U.S. and can sharpen any knife to a razor edge. The only reason to go someplace is to get a new profile.

  • can you recommend the brand of the knife sharpener you bought, thank you

  • I have a Smiths 3in1 but plan on getting a Gatco or maybe a Spyderco sharpmaker.

  • @STRIKER520 Listen, this man is poor... He cant afford anything over 5$ so he made his own machine :)

  • how much did he charge to sharpen a knife? it is entertaining to watch him.

  • WoW, that is cool how they do that.

  • he made his own knife-sharpener. i don't see him that often anymore in our neighborhood

  • Who cares if he's not doing it right, I'm not watching this for instructions on how to sharpen knives properly. I think it's cool that he was able to put his four kids through school by doing this.

Besides, I don't exactly have a "Flintstones" style bench grinder sitting in my garage.

  • In most filipino household people dont know how to sharpen knives. They also buy el-cheapo knives for the maids to use. So the "manghahasa" plies a good trade. Its not discussed here, But most think a "Steel Honer" is used to sharpened knives. When its actual use is to maintain a blade's edge. Yes bumps do occur in knives blade during constant use. It will not sharpen it.

  • thats pure love for his children

  • great 5 stars

  • you can tell a pro, first he dulls the edge flat, then makes a new edge

  • wow, u know your knives :D thanks for the comment. i hope u understand filipino, that's the medium i used while interviewing mang ben on a hot saturday

  • That knife and certenly most every knife this guy runs into are not differentially heat treated. Thats not to say I think he's doing a quality job, but he's probably charging $1 a knife so what can you expect.
