  • I just talked to the Man himself Jerry Portnoy, that made my day. I thank God for jerry Portnoy such an awesome talent.

  • cedricleecason.... has said what no amount of writing can totally spot on

  • この曲、誰のなんていう曲か分かる人いらしたら、おしえてください。

Does anybody know what this song is called?

    Thanks!

  • Jerry is in a class by himself..sooo cool. The others are great but Jerry stands out with out making a scene, just play the thang and ppl will notice you! And Jerry is NOT overplaying he's right on target like always if any its Rick overplaying, but he can play. Jerry is one the greatest and among my top five harp players of all-time...NO ONE like Jerry Portnoy, he's the MAN!!!!

  • lo que pelo el negro fue impresionante!!! jejeje

    un capo! unos capos todos!!

  • I´ve had the pleasure to meet 3 of the 4 lads on this vid, Portnoy is yet to say hello to...

Rick Estrin is acting as arrogant on this vid as when I meet him...sort of "it´s all about me"...he can play for sure but humble isn´t a word in his book.

One guy I do miss but who´s not on the vid is Gary Primich, he along with Kim always had/has a minute to talk and give a hint or two about playing...such a shame Gary had to loose it to worse living...R.I.P

  • Portnoy is SO cool! Estrin is too, but agree this is a lesson on overplaying!

  • I don't really care about the clothes. I am frustrated by Portnoy's, (Little Charlie), over playing. One of the keys to harp playing is pauses and emphasis. Hard to do if someone is blowing through your whole solo. Big mistake givin him the harp mike back. If Kim wasn't singing he would probably be playing chunky chords and letting the singer have some space. Kim doesn't even try and get that fat sound goes for more of a Sonny Boy sound, you can't hear it well cause Portnoy won't shut up

  • Just as an FYI...Portnoy is the realy cool muder fucker in the black suit with the yellow tie Rick estrin is in the grey suit and he is the lead singer and harmonica player with little charlie and the nightcats. Paul lamb is the man at the far right and kim wilson is bald.

  • You're actually frustrated with Rick Estrin's over playing! Jerry Portnoy played with Muddy Waters for a decade and knows all about when to play and when not to play! I'm sure Rick know's all about it too but got all caught up in the moment. Shame!

  • Before the "fashion police" get TOO upset, the airlines in Barcelona lost Wilson's luggage on his flight in. His clothes were "donated" by the promoter, lol.

How do I know? I was the piano player on the gig. -----gene taylor

  • These guy's have different tones etc. But that one cat is right...everybody is trying to sound like everybody else. That's the state of harp playing these days.."gotta get that Kim tone..FAT sound etc." I have no doubt that back in the day (today too )all the Chicago cat's wanted to sound like Walter. WHY ? Because that was the sound that brought the most bread and recognition. As far as the threads go. Kim knows his audience..he's a little bit rock and roll

  • can you imagine Sonny Boy playing with a pair of jeans? Everyone has its own style both in playing and in appearing. btw, Jerry is too cool. I will see in Milan on july 11th.

  • Wow, just wow... I wish I could have been there and seen this live!

  • GEESH! Does anyone EVER watch these videos for the MUSIC anymore? Stop with the damn criticizing for f's sake! Who the hell cares WHAT Kim Wilson wears...I sure as hell don't. If you don't LIKE them playing the Blues on harp..then you don't LIKE the Blues. So don't listen to or watch it. You people (Zoran and Jolee)are damn annoying! Jealous, carping, hiding behind your computer annoying little dweebs. Elizabeth

  • Listen up little Liz.I've blown more blues harp, been on more tours, been in more juke joints, made more money, wasted more money, drank more whiskey, blown more weed, and hobnobbed with more real hitters than you will ever do in your entire life! The name of the business is NOT how great you blow the horn but how the public perceives you. Dress like a bum.and the people THINK you're a bum. Show clothes indicate a pride in oneself and respect for the audience.

    Now, you are dismissed.

    JoeLee

  • LOL. Can't take the heat I see. Who cares how many brain cells YOU fried..you're not up there blowing with the greats and that makes you jealous. People like dressed up, people like dresed down, most don't give a crap. Now YOU are dismissed. Dweeb. Eliz.

  • For crying out loud Kim Wilson, get some genuine show clothes. Nobody is buying the "poor old blues man" routine anymore. You look like you just got off a city bus. JoeLee

  • We have comments here saying that these guys sound the same, imagine the comments if they would LOOK the same! :) I'm happy with Kim's clothing, he has a style of his own and at least doesn't come up with the old "bluesman in a suit" routine. If you feel comfy in a certain clothing onstage, go ahead and wear it!

  • Exactly, Robee. It's what you bring to the table, not what you're wearing when you do. Notice the audience doesn't seem to care one way or the other? A lot of the younger blues guys I know dress the same way. Nothing wrong with a shirt and jeans, if it works for you, and you'd feel constrained in a jacket. Estrin likes the "look", but that's him. Eliz.

  • I agree with you that you don't like repetitiveness but if you develop an ear for this music you will hear the differences between the playing of e.g. Portnoy, Wilson, Estrin and Lamb.I'm a harp player myself and I'm always searching for different things to do - you don't have too many choices, you either play through your mic and amplifier or a vocal mic, you have to make the best of it.

Oh yeah, and besides they only have 2 mics plus the vocal mic on this video, no wonder they sound similar.

  • No doubt, that is shit player, especially Jerry Portnoy, all around the world the same fuckin' amplified tone, four twins players, fuckin same that's the shame. Blah

  • brill clip. rick, kim, jerry and the lambster blowin up a storm. kims head is boppin' about like no ones biz!!! great stuff,i love it!

  • Hey GlenDoll thats the blues, sometimes you do and sometimes you don't...sounds good don't it....

  • Four well-known harp blowers, here. Funny they couldn't come up with four mics for 'em!
