2007 TU24 was discovered in Oct 2007 and it passed by in Jan 2008.
According to NASA, "2007 TU24 will be the closest currently known approach by a potentially hazardous asteroid of this size or larger until 2027."
I'd worry about the "currently unknowns" more!

Whelp is an actual word. It has two meanings. One is a small child, or youth. You would say it when you are talking to either a younger person, or someone not very bright. Or the other meaning is when you would leave a whelp on someone's ass after a spanking.
Thw way southerners use it is an interjection. Like saying "Whelp I best be outta here." I'm from the south, and I use it every way.
