landed here in addams little rock from DFW short 30 min hop. then fancied a trip back to DFW so to keep up the realism i requested a fuel truck to fuel me up for the trip back and to my suprise there was no fuel truck available at addams airport.

When i'm landing this, even the DC-10, I come in fast, about 180 KIAS, then when about 50 feet away from the runway, I cut the throttle and flare for a nice, smooth landing. I let the flare bleed off the excess speed. I have barley tested that in the 747 but it sure works in the DC-10! I even do that at Princess Juliana Intl! It always works for me! :)

yeah, there is :P. It's hard to land though because there's a pole glitch in FSX. If you get too close to the North or South pole, the whole land starts moving around and it's very hard to land on.

You should try PMDG B747. The BEST B747-400 there is. Altough, this just flight is 747-200? But to replace the default one PMDG is the way to go! I highly recommend it.

I noticed that on short final the aircraft is very sensitive to pitch attitude. The ideal attitude (as you probably know) for a 747 is 2-3 degrees nose up and I found that if you maintain it with these CLS planes then you'll be able to land at the published airspeed, otherwise you'll be off about 10 knots over or under depending on your nose being too high or too low.

Also, the edge of the brown/blue on the artificial horizon is actually a couple degrees up from level because when the plane is on the ground it is showing a couple degrees nose down.

Sooo...I just keep the plane on that line or 1 degree above it when landing at it seems to work like a charm.

I know, but they give more LIFT, at lower speeds. they are better than no flaps. Try it. go to KMCI in Kansas city and try to takeoff without flaps, then try with flaps, DORKY DORK!:)
