Zune LCD Screen Replacement - Take Apart & Repair Guide

so my zune lcd works now but th 5 error pops up/ i havent used it in liek 3 years so i tried downloading th software to my laptop ( all my music is on my desktop) and that didnt work / so i took out th motherboard ribbon and but it back in liek 5 times and then tried it but i guess its not connecting right is there soem guideline i can follow to insert it properly/ thanks ^^

@skatergirl314628 The connection is a aligator or "jaw" connector. Make sure the clip is fully lifted and the cable fully inserted. Once it has been inserted fully close the latch and your connection should be secure.

@mmamofo21 Sounds like you haven't installed the screen correctly. Make sure the LCD is fully connected and the ribbon is in fully.

@leehan92 5 error is a hard drive error. Most likely you have no connected the hard drive back correctly. Make sure the cable is fully in and the right way round.

My zune 30GB (original) gets to where you play a song, but it shows the song, but doesn't play. It just sits there and it's frozen. Any idea what that problem is? Sounds like the hard drive doesn't work. I re-set it, by opening it up. It ran low on batteries so I'm charging now, but I don't think the battery is the problem. I removed the battery wire and put it back in.

so i was coming home from school

some old lady rear ended me because she was fiddling with her radio

i was fine and she was fine, also no damages to the cars

i come home, and look into my backpack, pull out my zune, and the inside screen is cracked.

well now thanks to you guys, i fixed it back and everything looks great..

Make sure the black jaw is open. Insert the cable into the port making sure it goes in square. Once the cable is in close the black jaw clip to secure the ribbon cable in place.

The Clip came off on mine also, i only put it back over the pins, and connect it back up when done, i took mine apart all together and put it back together working no problem. All thanks to this Video, Thank you.

Anyone know how to fix the headphone jack, been having problems with it. only works in right ear. I then took it apart to fix. It works, but only when I press against the motherboard, dont wanna break it, but dont want a brick storage holder, if anyone can help, thanks

Theres already Zunes out that have touchpads what more do you want? just go out and buy a 120GB version. or 16GB Flash Zune. whichever you prefer.

Do you mean the actual port? If so this is part of the motherboard and you will need to replace the whole motherboard.

yeah I stripped one of the first 2 screws and I ended up having to bore it out with a electric drill and almost drilled to far nice video good enough quality I was only confused at removing the hard drive and screen ribbon and putting it back together thank you keep making your awesome videos
