  • the fuck is the tuning of the guitar??

  • @P00TANARA

    DADAAe

  • @k3v1ntorres i doubt it! the tuning aiint that.

  • @nazarhuda

The tuning is that, I play it like that and it sounds 97% correct. It's a unique tuning, try it out

  • @k3v1ntorres i ve tried it thats why im saying bro. Its not the way John plays here.

  • @nazarhuda maybe you tuned it wrong, sounds right to me

  • @nazarhuda he uses tunings like that in a lot of songs

  • I love this song :)

  • brings back memories, Treasure Planet was one of my favorite movies when i was smaller.

  • My ex-girfriend got me a signed picture of the goo goo dolls and the treasure planet movie for christmas last year. It was probably one of the best presents i have ever recieved... fuck i miss her

  • @WakeTheTownAB :,( This song is not exactly helps one with the feelings either :P

  • Was born in '93 and when I was seven I seen a movie called Titan AE and a few years later this movie and both of them are movies that I loved in my childhood!! If you haven't seen Titan AE I recommend watching it!!

  • @Blake2423 Titan AE is great movie, just saw it recently. It came out when I was in high school.

  • born '97 i know they dont make songs or movies like this anymore. this is just amazing.

  • not that it matters, but im '96

  • I'm born 95, and i agree.

  • I was born 1990, im glad i was able to live and appreciate that decade, it was byfar better than this one, when it comes to music and cartoons.

  • I was born in 1997, I remember seeing Treasure Planet in cinemas in 2004; best. Movie. Ever. I don't care what critics say about it, it was amazing. John's music just made it awesomer!

I really hate today's music; it's all about drugs and sex and pointless romances. The Goo Goo Dolls and the music I listen to (I hope it's good) has an actual meaning. I miss the old Disney as well and I'm glad I don't have Disney Channel because the of the crap they put on there.

I WANT THE OLD DISNEY BACK!!

  • @chocolatecake742 i was born in 1997 too and i remember collecting all of the mcdonalds toys from the movie. it was the best time of my life.

  • 89' baby, best disney childhood EVER :D

  • Can a '96 join in? ;D

I absolutely LOVE Treasure Planet and obsessed with I'm Still Here and Always Know Where You Are.

    Long live old Disney!!!

  • @LOLWAAHH Hahh, another youngin lol, i was born in '96 too, my dad introduced me to this movie, and i've loved it ever since!

  • Anyone else born in 93? I feel old, seeing all these 94s floating around. More to the point: this man is God. My favourite singer and my favourite movie.

  • @xpledgeturnprestigex im from '93 : D treasure planet is STILL one of my favorite Disney movies and i love this song :3

  • I remember when I was younger treasure planet came out and I loved the movie and just liked this song cause it sounded cool, and now I love the song even more cause I can connect to the words. Another '94 here.

  • how in gods name can you dislike this song, you must be insane

  • the 2 people who put dislike to this are hanna montanah fans -.- who don't appreciate REAL MUSIC

  • I love the song

  • Ahhh what happened.... he kept on messing up and going out of tune :(

  • @yzktewered304 obviously. notice how complicated the strumming is and he sings as he plays the guitar. you have to be an amazing guitarist to play this perfectly and i think tht johnny is as close as it gets to perfection

  • im a girl and for the original im still here ( tresher planet theme ) i match the voice u know wat i mean. same as hannah montana.

  • shes cute and so is jhon reznik but im only 12 so idk

  • I think this is one of the best songs that he has ever written.. (: I LOVE the Goo Goo Dolls <3 (:

  • How could A WHOLE PERSON DISLIKE THIS?! ITS BLASPHEMY!

  • @ZinbaProductions no. THIS IS DISNEY!

  • Loooove itt

  • Haist this is what i still feel...... Childhood is nice but wen ur parents gets divorced or like separated it makes us kids wonder why, and for my situation its not kids fault tht either mom or dad leaves its their prob not us... Juss enjoy like to the fullest... Anyway i love this song relates to me, and yes treasure planet is the shiit ! ^^

  • That man has beautiful teeth!

  • It is better with a few more intraments, it gives it more power

  • i'm not a goo goo dolls fan,. but in my personal opinion this is one of the best song written ever...

yes i know that musicly this song is very simple ,

no "solo" no "technic" no "whatever"

and ok actually this song it's lyrically simple too.

but this song hit your soul.

  • @4chatot4 1 dislike

  • who ever disliked this, doesnt like ORIGINAL disney songs.

  • 1 person disliked jst to piss off everyone

  • This song translates well into acoustic.

  • 1.07 - 1.11 fail xD

  • @croatien72 xD

I noticed that too. I was all, "Yeah, sounds awesome!" then "GAH." Then it went back to being awesome. Ha ha.

  • Dear disliker,

    You are an asshole.

    That is all.

  • not only treasure planet is a awesome film but this song just made it even better :)

  • @xxrocknrule4lifexx so true! :)

  • i really think kids are deprived of good music and movies, i grew up on this song im 16 now, treasure planet is still my favorite movie to this day

  • im not really a fan of acoustic music but ill admit that this is my favorite song

  • who the hell disliked this?????

  • @4chatot4 Now it's 284 and 1 :(

  • alot of mistakes on vocals and guitar playin but awesome song

  • @dejavu3552 im sure you can do better then?

  • @cassinator3000 probably lol im kidding. but no some one of his caliber shouldnt make as many mistakes as he does. its safe to say his band makes him. he has an amazing voice too dont get me wrong im a huge goo goo dolls fan

  • Alternate tunings are soo nice to listen to.

  • someone missed the like button

  • John Rzeznik has one of the purest voices I have ever heard, nothing outrageous, just pure.

  • The person that disliked this video missed the buttom or thought that it meant "dis i like"

  • he sounds much better on the movie

  • I wish I were the mic so bad right now...

  • okay so... heres the music that was on disney in the 90's. amazing, amazing music. now go turn on the disney channel. if you dont get a headache from the crappy poppy shit thats on the television and radio these days then you're lost to the horrible artistic gap we're experiencing right now. it makes me really, really sad. i wish i couldve been born a decade earlier. i just had to be born in 94, so that as soon as i really get into music, the mainstream is a shithole. fuck it all.

  • @FirstxISxLast actually...Treasure Planet came out in 2002, so this video should be from the noughties. It's kind of scary really, the 2000s were a decade ago!

  • @noneoftheosrt ahh yeah, i just kinda took a stab at the time period, but you get the idea, the music today is horrible. im so sick of it.

  • @FirstxISxLast Dude, I was born in '86, and by the time I got around the learning the names of most of the artists I liked, half of them were dead. At least I get to remember what I listened to growing up and sometimes, I still find shit I had almost forgotten about.

What's sad is the day you realize you've been listening to the same music for ten years and that you don't remember the names of most contemporary artists. Yikes.

  • @ghostkamikaze yeah i hear you dude, like, for christs sake, kurt cobain died 7 months before i was born. i just feel like i would feel so much more comfortable in a time where people actually wrote music to make people feel something, rather than to make money, you know? im so sick of the industry today, with all the auto-tuning of full length songs and shit. if i ever become famous with the gifts that i have ill be sure to try to make people feel something. but because thats not likely, we'll

  • @ghostkamikaze just have to deal with it until people understand what music is really about, if we can ever get people to remember what it used to be like

  • @FirstxISxLast Really sucks...

  • @FirstxISxLast very good observation. i believe it was better in the 90's because guys like john rzeznik played music because he had to get something out, a way to express a deep feeling where saying it wasnt enough. Getiing famous wasnt on his mind he just did what he loved. Where today these jokes like justin bieber and lady gaga are doing it to be famous which to me eliminates the true beauty and passion of the music.

  • @FirstxISxLast We are kindred spirits, I was born in 1991 and just in the past 4 years I've been getting into music and I'm finding myself loving the good old music that when you would listen to a song and it would make you cry

  • @FirstxISxLast this song isn't from the 90's either;P

  • @TheAlxde007 ALRIGHT so i didnt do my research.. but you get my point, the statement i made still makes sense

  • @FirstxISxLast I agree...I wish I were born in the 70s so I could experience the 80s...but unfortunately I was born in '95 and now all the music is over synthesised and uses way too much autotune. If you can't sing, than you just shouldn't try. Selena Gomez is an example of that...it just annoys me.

  • @FirstxISxLast well it's not totally true it's just what you like some people like the music from the 90's and hate the music from these days but there are also people that likes the music from now a days and doesn't like the old music everyone's own taste;)

  • @FirstxISxLast I wish i was born a decade earlier was well...this is real music right here

  • @chasmrad24 this song was made in 2002 <.<

  • @dannymillion I undertand that but the song isnt why i wanted to be born a decade earlier. as said by FirstxlSxLast, as soon as i really get into music, the mainstream is a shithole. but thanks anyways

  • @FirstxISxLast You were born in '94 too? Dang, we sure did come close to missing out.

  • @FirstxISxLast i tottally agree with all you just said and if i could i would go to the past just to see the good Disney again. i rember watching this in 2002 and i thought they were doing good until after 2003 then disney died.

  • @FirstxISxLast I know exactly how you feel man. And as another 94, I have to say that you are totally right!

  • @FirstxISxLast You just have to search for the good singers and musicians these days. They are out there. They're just harder to find.

  • @homeschoolveggie i agree mate.

  • @FirstxISxLast not all main stream is bad...I'm Black and love old school and new school rap, r and b, blues, hip hop, jazz etc. all African American made music that had its origins in African slave hymns and songs in the US. And yeah I like Pop to there are actually some really talented Pop stares then and now....but you are right about one thing Disney channel and their music is terrible I miss the old 90's Disney...

  • @FirstxISxLast oh yeah and this song is amazing!!!

  • @FirstxISxLast another '94 here :)

  • Nice song, please check my cover in the video response tab and leave me a constructive comment. THanks

    CIao

bring the 90's back!!! the music was SO much better!

  • GOO GOO DOLLS AND JOHN RZEZNIK FOREVER!!!!!!

but most people forgot 'bout them

  • Class A performance/ song

  • teaching lyrics

  • im 16 and i may have been brought up with todays music but it makes me sad that there will never be songs like this again. Auto tune has wrecked music

  • @Garagejammimg i know right!!!! :( i am 15 and i want the old music back D: D: also i love this song lol :P

  • @Garagejammimg

not true, there's still artists like Johhny out there. You just gotta deep dig under all of that autotune crap

  • @KenKhoox92 joseph arthur, for one.

  • @Garagejammimg I agree with you to such an extent I had to comment hahahaha.

  • listen to that kids?? those were the days before auto tune =]

  • @Sherwin930 hell yeah, this is real music :) with soul

  • he good

  • class..... absolutely class

  • This guy is my idol.....

  • ah-mai-zing!

  • 2:16 he panicked with both the chord and the lyrics. lol

  • @MrMcConnon i didn't see that even at 2:16, he looks comfortable the whole time, anyone else agree ?

  • @liverpoolfangirlxx no its 2:22, you see his mouth stammer cuz he nearly forgets the words and he strummed out of time but then saved it to end the chorus.

  • @MrMcConnon i see it now, its hardly noticeable though, he covers it up like a hero haha.

  • @liverpoolfangirlxx haha yeah he does save it really well, but its just something I noticed first time.

  • I am with molasies nice

  • You know what's great about John and the GGD? There is NO difference between how they sound on their albums and how they sound live. They're just great!

  • what open tuning is he using?

  • he has just the right amout of roughness to his voice, it is so sexy and beautiful.<3

  • oh, the first z is silent...

  • @awesomeTai actually it's probably some sort of slovac name. I recognize that letter combination from polish, it's not a sound we here in english. To say the RZ letter combination you curve your upper lip like you would to make an R, put your teeth together and put the tip of your tongue to the roof of your mouth like you would to make a Z then use your voice.
