Hey im looking to buy either the blacktop tele or jaguar, i like to play alot of rock like guns and roses, van halen, and a7x. but i also like to play some blues/jazz like buddy guy, t bone walker, and dabbling with some jimi hendrix. Which one would be better for me? I some advice QUICK!
Right now I'm just using a 10W Solid State Kustom. However, in a matter of days I'll be getting myself a nice new valve amp! I actually tried my Tele on an Orange Tiny Terror today. Wound up the gain knob, and my god the tone was incredible.
@MyTutorialFilms why the frowny face ? the classic vibe 50s tele is an amazing guitar for the price i would sooner buy another classic vibe tele than one of these
I have a question. I've been looking into Teles for a long, long time, and when I found out about the HH version, I became split. Coming from a Punk rocker, I've always wanted a chance to rock out on a Humbucker, and with the amount of treble the Tele puts out would just be amazing. But because its a HH set up, do I lose that classic treble vibe or does it still retain that Tele sound?
It plays very nice! I think that's an excellent choice for who loves the feel and the comfort of a Telecaster but would like to have a sound like a Les Paul, but not identical!
@MCEnchilada If you already have another Strat and you want something different, the Tele. If you already have another Tele and you want something different, the Strat. If you don't have a clue I would recommend going to a guitar store, try them both and then buy the one you like the most.
@m3dion I dunno... I've got a strat, and i bought the blacktop strat because for the same price, you get more versatility and tone options. I originally thought about the blacktop tele, but i eventually didn't like it because the tone pots are awful. 10-2 sounds the same. change from 2 to 1 and it goes from bright to dull.
thank you!!!!! a tele with humbuckers!!!!! been looking for an inexpensive one after watching fender's interview with Chris Shiflett when he was talking about teles with humbuckers.
These things just shine through a cranked Marshall tube 1/2 stack all the way to a Fender Twin...and thats just with the stock pickups which are damn good. From clean to pure mean. Can get close to an SG or maybe an LP but roll the volume off and you have that snappy 'Fender' tone. These are probably the best bang for your buck guitars out there right now. I love mine...hell I might buy the strat model aswell.
awesome!! how silver does this guitar actually look cuz ive seen some pics that make it look metallic like this vid but others make it have a dull grayish color
I had been looking for a new Telecaster for a while and I heard about this one. After I saw this video, I saved up and I now own one. It's easily the best guitar I own right now and I owe it all to your amazing demos. Thank you.
If you order a FAT Fender 5 way switch and those pickups have 4 conductor wiring, you can re-wire this guitar to sound like a PRS with split coil combos...write me if interested. This will make your tele RAWK!!!
@electropopriot MAN !!! yesterday, I just did this to my Black Top Telecaster. I replace the PUPs with Seymour Phat Cat. It sounds really awesome !!! You must try !!! (sry for my weak English)
The Jaguar and Tele HH have a bit more grunt in them. a bit rougher. The Strat and Jazzmaster are a bit light on i think. Jaguar on bridge for Rhythm, Tele on neck for leads I say. Thats a winner combo. Leave the other two for weddings.
Hey PGS, thanks for all the great demos you do through the Fender DRRI. I am currently in the market for a new amp, and the Deluxe Reverb is one of my top three contenders. Is the model you use stock? Thanks!
@IronMetalGunsnACDC Standard or Black Top , tele . Made in mexico Fenders are Great . Chinese Epiphones , played them , owned them , had problems didn't really dig them . Fenders are awesome. Amen .
Hey I Was Wondering, Because I'm Gettin A New Guitar This Friday, And It's Either This BlackTop Tele HH or and Epiphone Les Paul Standard Plaintop Or Just The Fender Tele Standard (Mexican Made) What Should I Get? Thanks
@DominicSXE hey man, it depends on how heavy you want it, if you want speed metal and thrash, you might wanna change the pickups or get a really good distorted amp for that heaviness, when i play it, it sounds a bit bluesy and rocky, when i put my amp to maximum gain, it just sounds weird
@DominicSXE this is a great guitar for post hardcore styles like of machines, the color morale, confide, etc. but if you're playing a lot more breakdowns and heavier riffs and you wanna use a tele, then I'd suggest replacing the pick ups with and emg 81 and emg 85.
I only have 2 questions...1: Is this guitar good for some clean sounds too, or is it ment only for distorted sounds? 2: Does the maple or rosewood fretboards affect the sound of the guitar? If yes, in what way? I'm really interested in this guitar because I want to buy a Telecaster, but I just need to decide which...:) This one has taken my attention because it's pretty and it's sounds great too...I've been playing guitar for 3 years and it's time for me to get to a different level...:)Thanx!:)
