I hate that this irresponsible and brutal video always pops up when searching tegus on Youtube. That rat was way too large and was clearly seen biting the face of the tegu. Irresponsible reptile owners piss me off. There is nothing natural about placing two animals in a tiny box and watching them fight to the death.

Ok ive been thinking about getting a tegu. I love the colors on them and how they can grow on you and become very tame and docile. Does feeding them live food grow on you? Because I feel sad when I hear the mammals squeak (and i know they need live food every once in awhile so they remain healthy like they would in the wild) when they are being eaten lol. The Tegu is a very expensive animal and is not bred and raised as a feeder, so nobody could afford to feed it to something else, Not to mention that something that eats a lizard that size would be huge and nobody could reasonably be able to house one. That rat served a purpose. the tegu will be able to now survive. they do it in the wild. what better way to keep a pets instincts alive then to let it go for the kill every once in awhile. Ok ive been thinking about getting a tegu. I love the colors on them and how they can grow on you and become very tame and docile. Does feeding them live food grow on you? Because I feel sad when I hear the mammals squeak (and i know they need live food every once in awhile so they remain healthy like they would in the wild) when they are being eaten lol. I think int would grow on me but I just wanted to make sure. I have a Chinese water dragon, bearded dragon, and pacman frog.
