Fareed Zakaria says that the US government never sold chemical weapons. So I did some research and found a US Senate report on chemicals sold to Saddam. Those include anthrax. When Mr Marandi says that many Iranians do not trust Western media, that is one of the reasons why! I've included the link so that you can all see the irrefutable proof, from the US government itself, that it sold Saddam chemical weapons.

@dtdynd Those riots aren't trying to over throw the government. China has thousands of labour riots, and people are only put in jail not shot. Moreover, the nation uses military force against riots that are trying to overthrow the established government ala Tiananmen. Different gradient of riots and different scale.

They were protesting in Tehran demanding a recount of their votes and investigations into fraud, and later, a release of Mousavi from house arrest (which again, no real democracy would put a political opponent under house arrest). At NO POINT did they ever attempt a "storming" of government buildings or anything of the sort
