  • can you use ground geera, in place of roasted geera?

  • how to make doubles?

  • hmm... i'm accustomed to geera chicken and pork being a lot darker than this. but that's just me.

  • I am not a big fan of geera/cumin :-( so (don't laugh too loud now!)... I made this recipe with mustard seed... and it is gorgeous!!! Now of course I cannot call it Geera Chicken anymore, but hey... what's in a name? :-)

  • reading about what shado beni is..u said culantro..if i'm right thats what you add in "sofrito" correct ..because my bf is pr im sure your familiar with that..also i have a question can you please tell me this is gerra chicken..the gerra is just "cumin" we can add? the brown spice...just add cumin? thank you :)

  • I am going to try it your way just to see which I like best. I have been told, and done it by cooking my Meat like a Curry, and add the Geera during the last 15 mins. I am in search of the "Ultimate Geera". Loved the Geera Gizzards I had in Trini. Thanks for this recipe. Keep those Recipes coming..

  • Ok, Chris I want the Aroma...The Essential Oils in Food and Fragrence Book.....OMG!!! I have many buuuut I have to pick I would say lavender and vanilla. I just LUV the way they smell and it tastes AWESOME in creme brulee!

  • Happy New Year Chris love your vids.

  • Thanks, love the geera pork, so I have to try this also. I would love to sent you some shado beni, but with the way I am going with my plant following your recipe's I will have to buy a new one. Is it really impossible to grow one in the cold?

  • Always going great things for us. Everything I try by you always comes out great. Thanks.

  • I looked up the Dutch word for shado beni, Chris and found "Stinkdistel" (bad smelling distel!!!)... I think I'll stick to the cilantro!!! hahahaha

Thank you for your quick response and I agree with some of the previous comments: I too love to watch your videos AND make the recipes too! Much love from The Netherlands Chris! Keep it up please!!! :-)

  • You are so awesome at what you do!!I love watching your video, keep it up.

  • Hi Chris Happy New Year! so good to see you and can't wait to make this chicken dish. Going to carnival next month can't wait.

  • this is a language thing: i hear you say something we should use instead of cilantro... can you type it for my please, because i cannot understand what you're saying... i don't know the herb and i'd like to look it up. :-) Thank you!!!!

  • @MiekeDagboek it's called shado beni (search "what is shado beni" in google) there are different ways of spelling it. I also believe it's called culantro as well.

  • @MiekeDagboek in Trinidad it's local name is bandhania!

  • @rajc2040 Thank you... :-)

  • gige a try to add the garlic 2 or 3 minutes before the chicken is done! it will get a good garlic flavor! if you add the garlic first is just getting burn .. great recipe ..thank you

  • Happy New Year!! May God continue to bless you and your family and may you continue to produce great recipes introducing the world to the great food Trinidad and Tobago has to offer. Could you please do a Chow Mein and Fried Rice. I miss TnT chinese food living here in the USA

  • @Sam020279 No, in Trinidad it's spelt Geera. I guess you could go the safe way and say cumin

  • love this

  • Hey there,

Love all of your videos! It's always a pleasure viewing your recipes. If I may, I would like to make a request? I was wondering if you could perhaps make Shrimp Fried Rice? I would really appreciate it.

    Keep the recipes coming!
