  • Any and all documents written by man are flawed documents. The American constitution was seen as flawed by the ones who wrote it thats why the bill of rights and the amendments exist.

  • My cousin is Niel's keybord man and i have met and had dinner with neil's several times he is the nicest person you could meet very down to earth. We even jammed a litle i play the drums what fun.

  • This is the story of my parents, Came here after WWII and raised 4 children, Took my mom to to see him at Madison Square Garden, She loved it. May you and dad rest in peace.

  • Listening to neil diamond is painful. I have blood dripping from my ears. My wife forced me to listen to this tripe.

  • Beyond bonkers, what a nice expression.

  • Obama says the United States of America's constitution is a flawed document, the guy is a flake and needs to leave here!

  • Too have seen him LIVE at Madison Square Garden, singing this song, and the crowd going beyond bonkers, is one of life's great experiences!

  • great song!

  • I love the the way his lips move early in clip... ching ching

  • Thanks Neil... an anthem for all countries.

  • This is who we really are--time to take back our ideals and be the America we used to be--one that stood strong for those in need, those who wanted a better life, those who choose to be free.

Time for us to stand up and be free once more--It is Time!

  • @paulhaider Too many...far too many that want to be on welfare. Perfectly happy living on hand outs. Why? Their parents and probably their Grand Parents were on welfare. Very little pride and self respect left. Thank the libs for ruining the independant spirit....

  • @cabritorsss yeah, all 1,466,545 of them on active duty and 1,458,500 on reserve duty.

  • 108 people are iraq

  • Wow I forgot how sweet Neil is....awesome awesome

  • hllo connie i wanna knouyou

  • What a Great Song

  • People define what America truly is. Neil Diamond makes it truly special.

  • "They're coming to occupy..." Chief Sitinwitoutajob said to young son, "But, father this is our land, no?" Not anymore.

  • im a aussie, but this video clip would make me proud to be a american. neil dimond is a great singer/songwriter."yoll should be proud"

  • Thank You God, that I was born American...

  • I used to (and maybe still do) think about this song in connection with my ex, who came here from another country once an enemy. He would not be able to stay here save for me, and yet I let him leave... what does one say?

  • were these the days that he kinda lost his voice? I swear some years he has his voice gets so froggy when he sings lower.

  • I do like neil tho, just to clarify. Like the way he sings most of his songs!

  • I love the song and the meaning of the words but dont like the way he is singing it!

  • I remember that some newstation had this song palying as footage of the planes carrying the hostages from the embassy in Iran were coming home and I believe it was to JFK airport..two commercial jet liners flanked by F-4 Phantoms from the Air National Guard units in Maine, Mass. and New York. It was one of the moments when I felt proud to be an American!

  • The dream needs to stay alive, and this is one beacon that keeps it so.

  • I listened to this song growing up as my father liked it very much, and I am proud to be an American. Sincerely, Jason Lowen

  • Ron Paul: Champion of The CONSTITUTION

  • America is a lie.

  • @BurnYourCash No, the cake is.

  • Neil Diamond has done more for mankind than all the Muslims including Obama put together.

  • I weep for Obama, for what he could be, should be, and yet is not.

  • @MsPandaRosa

Dont worry. Ron Paul will fix his mess ;)

  • @HalfBornUnicornFetus

    Right now it's anybody's game.

Bet you a box of nice hot Krispy Kremes Obama will be re-elected, and I speak as a Republican. C'est la vie.

  • @MsPandaRosa I don't, I weep for America...obama has always been a loser and come november he will be again.

  • @dhd1232008 my money says race riots if he loses to a white guy....

  • I'm tired of people defacing their neighbors property!!!I grew up in different parts of America.I never saw trash or graffiti. How degusting that we have to put up with gangs, disrespect, etc.

  • Ah! Wish I was American. Im from Liverpool so I'll stick to You'l l never walk alone

  • If you want to restore the America that Neil is singing about then make sure that you vote in 2012.

We don't need to become a socialist country like Greece or Italy.

    Follow your gut ..

  • He sounds a little hoarse and gruff, I think Neil Diamond should have been a metal singer

  • i just luv the hell out of him! wish i had a chance to meet him

  • @Gamesett i saw Him in concert in Bakersfield ,Cali on Jan 2009 ? Great Concert

  • Una canción para todo el continente americano

  • I am proud to be an American. It is the greatest country in the world. Of course, we are facing many difficulties, but as a whole we are way better than other countries. So many talents, gifted people that contributes their creations and invention to benefit humanity. I would not hesitate to lay down my life for the flag. By the way, I am come Vietnam in 1981 when no other country was will to take me in, gave me opportunity, hope and future except USA. God bless America

  • My mom and I would sing along to this song when I was little. I would get so into it, I just loved it!! I haven't heard it in years, it brings back some great memories.

  • You guys so lucky I want live in America

  • Neil and this song rocks but it does sound like Atta's get pumped song, never forget.

  • I hope that Israel will have the same freedom and peace God has granted to us,minus bigotry & slavery.

  • America isn't perfect - in fact there's a lot wrong, but it's pretty damn good. Hey, it's better then Iran!

  • @sinminman really... we're better than Iran is your brag Perhaps you need to set your sights a little higher

  • Welcome to America -- we hope to embody all dreams and hopes fulfilled -- !

  • Just recently, I was in the hospital. Stood a week recovering after my double mastectomy, treated for hereditary breast cancer. Looks like that I may have inherited this cancer gene mutation from the Irish side of my family. Anyways, I had several dreams during that time. One of them, I heard a song real loud and clear... It was this song "Coming to America" by Neil Diamond. I haven't heard it in years! I mean years!.... Music, the heart & soul: Hope gives us strength to keep going. God bless~

  • @sonyarose8 We've polluted the earth because we think we're wiser than God our creator. It's sin that causes this.Faith in Jesus his only begotten son brings salvation, healing and true peace of mind.Trust God.All good gifts come down from the Father of lights, that's God.Peace & Love In Yeshua Meshiach or Jesus the Messiah of the tribe of Judah.Yes he was a jew.

  • @DThor53 what the hell are you talking about? we polluted this earth? people have to eat and live. you want everyone to starve to death? you really got to think before you type!!

  • I was born in the uk but wanna go traveling round America..! XX

  • THEY SHOULD play this.....ON SPEAKERS ON THE US/MEXICO BORDER

  • THEY SHOULD play this.....ON SPEAKERS ON THE US/MEXICO BORDER

  • He's awesome. I love what he did for Katrina. I supported him by giving $20 to a lady and said buy something for yourself and be sure every penny goes to the item so it could go for Katrina. His concert was a gift and I did not need item I just put his music on and that is worth all lot. No money can buy the joy he brought to my mom by his talent. God Bless to Neil Diamond!

  • Brilliant Song

  • First time I saw Neil sing this song was in Frankfurt. At the 3 minute mark, both US & German flags unfurled together...a major audience lovefest, and way beyond wunderbar! US ain't perfect, but what is?

  • Neil thanks for this beautiful song as it reminds me of when I came to "America"

with my parents, brothers & sisters way back in 1975 on Easter day.

  • wish i was american and lived there

  • @mjcamck ... please tell me you're joking?

  • We aren't perfect by a long shot, but we ARE this song, We embody the hope, the freedom, the strength to build on our own merit. Who wouldn't want any of that?

  • @GoldenPig2012 Our republican conservatives don't want this and Americans fail to notice their agenda.

    Wm.. Gerardino, photojournalist, Ohio

  • @GoldenPig2012 Me. Keep it to yourself you capitalist pig

  • @sheldonplankton OK, you don't want to embody hope, freedom and building something that reflects hard work. OK, don't. No one can or will force you and I don't personally care if you do or not. THAT is freedom. And, no, I won't keep it to myself and "capitalist pig" is a trite, now banal label, usually inaccurate and definitely over-used by those who don't get it. Thanks for the input.

  • @GoldenPig2012 You embody the hope, freedom and strength to build an empire on the back of slavery and the rape of the environment. Congratulations!

  • @Kobevader Yawn. Like I said, we don't claim perfection and we are a work in progress to make it better. I will not claim responsibility for slavery, I never had a slave and I thnk it's an abhorrent practice. The environment? Working on it, dude. I'd still rather live here than elsewhere. Period. Calm down.

  • @GoldenPig2012 very kewl comment. I agree.

  • @GoldenPig2012 Where else can one pick and choose what they want they want to do. I totally agree with you. We may have our faults by by God we are FREE!!!

  • Congratulations to Neil Leslie Diamond on being a Kennedy Center honoree.

  • Naturyl,

I assure you the U.S. can't stand YOU. Stay in the third world toilet where you live.

  • @vanbock ... wtg on the comment... the land of the free huh? Last I looked, it was covering the 17 points of dictatorship.

  • I am a Leftist and generally7 cannot stand the US -but this song moves even me. It is an anthem of what freedom should be.

  • This song, Neil's attitude and its presentation and the ads at the bottom perfectly sum up what is wrong with America in my opinion..

  • iam a native american, my people were too be killed off, no matter were you are from this was our land, it was taken from us, just like the jews in germany, my people went thru the same thing, but we still live

  • @jaealex29 are you still living on a reservation in oklahoma & taking a check from the government? i get tired of hearing natives whine while they're stuck on the tribal &/or govt tits. It happened, now what are you going to do about it? hmmm? just complain?

  • yes - this country is 'the great American Melting Pot' - a mix of ideas and cultures from around the whole world. My mother and her parents came here from Europe when she was a small girl. Her father wanted her to grow up where she could be free and have the best opportunities for a sucessful, happy life. That is what this song is all about!

  • But it means, too, that the US are a nation of migrants.

  • I'm not from the United States, but I feel this song is a matter of patriotic proud.

  • @lettertee I love my country I have served for 6 yrs in the US Army, But sadly our economy and jobs and such is not great....I will love my country but want it back how it was yrs ago, great and wonderful!

  • Man I hate this song, but I can't stop watching it D:

  • whoever does not like this song is crazy... Its a good one

  • while our soldiers are serving-a woman is raped every 8 seconds in america-babies are aborted every day-hate and bigotry still goes on

  • Sadly this song was when America was doing great. People wanted to come to USA for jobs and such.. Americans were doing great...it was the better life. I love my country but we are not the nation like this song anymore. I hope we get back though, would be nice.

  • @happysockeys then get the fuck out of this non doing great country ,and move to south america or cuba. you make me sick there are americans being killed as we speak . so you are telling me that the boys in iraq, and afganistan are being killed in action for a country not doing well. why dont you just leave and go to france, and while your over there why dont kill yourself.

  • nice hair

  • love you NEIL XXX

  • God Bless USA!!!! thank you I used to live there for 25 years had worked for MIami Dade County, the first chance that I got to became an American Citizen I proudly did it,now I move back home Peru, I miss Usa a lot I always will respet their people their law,and uff course I will be going back everytime I'll get a chance.

  • one of the best

  • At a time like this, it is good to hear this once again....Thanks to all the military men and women for giving us our freedom...

  • @MrAugustus88 Racism doesn't sync with American values, so please keep that sewage to yourself and quit mixing it with patriotism.

  • I find myself proud of my country, having served in the US Navy during WW2 in the Pacific, and having known many of us who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our wonderful country that was the hope of our grandparents, parents and in many instances themselves for a life of individual freedoms.. a wonderful USA

  • @sillsdrive In fact, you were very nice in Europe in 1944. Nobody forgotten.

  • Neil Diamond's music has ssved my life more than once

  • I have the same birthday as Neil Diamond January 24th

  • Neil, haven't been fortunate enough to meet him, but through his songs, he will always be a friend in my heart as well! Just awesome!

  • First to "soteacher" from a couple of weeks ago - ref: jews self-identifying as jews rather than Greeks even though living in Greece, vs. in U.S. they will say they are jewish but also be great American patriots. I think the difference is that jewish people have been in on this country from the 1600's, yes, is true, and "allowed" to settle here and prosper and eventually become part of this country in every way, something denied in deed and attitude elsewhere in history.

  • Thanks Vince for serving!!

  • How many Jewish families were destroyed in the Revolutionary war? And the Civil war? We are still trying to get our families back on solid ground. And Neil is singing about what a great opportunity we set up for him.

  • love this song

  • @dart5567 No i dont think so!!

  • isn't this song about immigration?

  • Great Lyrics, In this song he is expressing our Fathers Dreams

  • far, weve been traveling far, without a home, with out a star. YEA GO AMERICA

  • This song came with me when I joined up, I remember basic training, it was tough, but on a night we would listen to this and polish the floors mirror fashion !

I'm not an American and this song is great !

  • I cry every time I hear this, I am one of THEM!

  • Retired Navy. May God bless your son!

  • No matter what wheter jew or not jew ,America doesn't ask why did come or were born there ,America welcomes EVERYBODY,that's why I love America

  • @angelballs1 may god bless your son

  • Neil is the hardest working performer ever. Shut up jew boy

  • we need more of this we need to take it back

  • i must say that i like diamond, but this song always troubled me.I know neil is jew. here in greece the jews say that are israelites and not greeks. They say that are glad living here but never proud as greeks, and i can understand that. after all, all jews in europe feel the same way. So what's so different with America? either usa is jews promised land or neil was trying to save his career back then with a patriotic song. Having jewish relatives, i believe it's the second one.

  • @soteacher He had to write this song because America ROCKS!

  • @soteacher ND is an American ....

  • What a beautiful song by a beautiful man!!! Love him! <3 <3

  • How can a friendly discussion about a great singer and a wonderful song end so hateful and nasty between some participants. Why do we get the urge to stoop so low ? Just ignore them and enjoy what we are here for !

IT'S NICE TO BE IMPORTANT, BUT MORE IMPORTANT TO BE NICE !

  • @lhelmark Hey buddy! - I.m nice (if you are tanlking about me) Im met a buddy of neil diamond once - he wrote a songe for him. pretti good too. Chill out snowflake. x

  • Behind every Constitutional right stands a soldier, ready to defend that right.

HAPPY 4th OF JULY, AMERICA! "...I'm proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free", but am humbled by "...the men who died who gave that right to me".[Lee Greenwood] May God Bless America! And our troops, and every American who loves this country: "One Nation, under God, Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all"! It doesn't get any better than this.

  • To my son, Alan, who is in Afghanistan, serving proudly, for all of us today!

  • @angelballs1 May he return safely. May Afghans be free & reach for the stars. May moms like u find a front row seat in heaven for giving so much of yourselves. May my Iran be free soon so I wont see blood of young Iranians be spilled in Persia by a brutal dictatorship. I was born in New Mexico. I'm in California. I'm disabled[power wheelchair]. Today I saw some young Iranian boys walking in street here strong, I imagined what if they had to die in war. Hope not, hope they'll b free. happy 4th.

  • @TheShahradselahvarzi Thank you for your kinds words. Bless you!

  • @angelballs1 Tell Allan my thoughts are for him, my prayers are with him .

  • it ain't the 4th of July without the Diamond and this tune... get the fireworks started

  • @uneedtherapy42 lol you are so right on that!!! lolol..

  • My family's Persian. I was born in US. My family & I disagree 'bout some things. 1 of the things we agree on is [in their own words] after visiting family in Iran, coming back home to US, they wanna kiss the good 'ol dirt of the US. Now, nothing against other nations. I just desire democracy & a free Iran man. My dad once told my uncle, "Americans are 'a' mighty & free people!" Iranians are mighty but not free.

    Let's show Iranians we care.

Please thumbs up for Free & Friendly Iran. Happy 4th!
