Because innovative "sandboxes" fail. Hence there is eve....it doesn't work. There peak was 300,000 subscribers and it's down to 180,000 subs mostly all alts. Hell, a game called dofus online beats it. lol. Sandbox....fail.

TOR however, will blow the shit out of any mmo. 17 planets that are HUGE, flamethrowers, twilek dancers that are green, blue, purple, pazaak, juma juice..chillin out in bars...cmon guys.. you really think this won't go anymore...stop foolin yourself

@Poropipo I managed to get a hour and 30 minute demo of origins at PAX east on sunday, the combat is indeed a clone of WoW's, but theres nothing wrong with that, it's a proven formula.

One thing this definately has over WoW is the voice overs and dialog choices, aside from the other things promised the dialog choices and voice overs let mmo players actually enjoy and interact with the story for a change.

So FYI I'm not getting this for the combat, I'm getting it for the interaction.

@Zackreaver its no where near wows combat system haha this combat system is fastest combat system of all mmos even bioware stated they dident copied youre other mmorpgs thats slow combats.

@Markwarcry501st Have you even played the game? Sith and Jedi have rage bars just like warriors, smuggler and agent have rogue energy bars, inquisitor and consular basically have a mana bar, and the only two unique are the bounty hunter and trooper, which have an ammo bar, kind of similar to the thief in Guild Wars 2.

The control scheme and combat style mimic WoW almost to a T, but again it's better that it plays more like WoW over slow games like final fantasy XI or XIV. It's not a bad thing

@Zackreaver actrually wow has copied all others even seen wow game tanaris before cata had podracing with goblins thats copied from starwars episode 1! and wow has copied more things they stole copyrights from and could have been sued on millions swtor has nothing like wow combat system is from dragon age 2 but uppgraded if you had played it you would have known ps i was in 2 swtor betas!

@Markwarcry501st First off, Blizzard parodies with all their games, you can't sue a Parody, just because something is "similar" unless they had a human with a lightsaber called "Luke Skywalker" they aren't going to get sued. And your in denial if you think the combat is nothing alike, they share basically the exact same control setup and run practically the same. And it's nothing like dragon age 2 get your facts straight. PS, comma's and periods help.

At any rate your missing the point, SWTOR's highlight is the character development, it doesn't matter that the combat is in a sense "unoriginal" at least they aren't using Final Fantasy 14's combat system. I'd prefer to use WoW's combat over something that awful. At any rate they designed the controls to be similar because they want to attract the WoW population, so they keep the controls familiar to them.
