@oneyedthing P.pallidus? Good question, I have some juvenile specimen and they are not too active (I would say they are in the good middle of "activeness" of scorpions overall). But again, I can't tell for adult specimen.
@snippydude YEs. Thank you. I was supposed to get a P.Pallidus. now im opting for P. Villosus. I heard this is an active sp. Or did you just disturbed that scorpion when filming?
@oneyedthing No, not really. The cricket was disturbing it, not me ;) But yes, P. villosus is quite active (taking into account that it is still a scoprion and therefore nocturnal). But I see my two adult specimen rather often, some times even during the day.
@cornsnaker That is a mix of the sand, you would find in a kid's sandbox and red claypowder (About 5:1 parts). Moisten it up, let it dry and you got proper substrat for arid tanks that house digging scorpions.
@cornsnaker Less? Hell no ;) Hadrurus arizonensis is way more of a digger then Parabuthus villosus is. He definitely needs proper digable sand. My specimen has tunneled under all of it's tank! But: When you change the substrate (Which you should when you use loose sand) remember not to let the scorpion back into the tank until the substrate is absolutely dry. Hadrurus spec are really vurnerable to mycosis!
does any one kno where i can buy a parabuthus villosus ive only been able to find p.transvaalicus and p.liosoma

@FALTUS89 : In the US they are quite hard to get. In Germany they are acually quite common (typical and black), oranje is rare, too.

@snippydude Would that work for a desert hairy, or are they less of a digger?
