Read up to ch 8 today and have to say this trailer sucks, and doesn't do the book that much justice.
On another note if you want to read another story that has a character who can make gates between earth, and the world of the gods, that is sought after by gods and others who wish to kill/use said character, and that features magic of all sorts, and features gods such as loki, thor, the greek gods, etc check out the "Everworld" series by KA Applegate, their short reads but enjoyable
read the book. OSC is a fantastic author, however the system of magic he sets up is too reminiscent of your typical class system within a RPG style video game. Although I would never accuse him of lifting the idea, (and he explains his development process well enough to truly dissuade one from this), he could have easily picked it up from at least one role playing system some acquaintances of my had mentioned. (multiple posts are required due to character restriction of youtube)
He also plays too much emphasis on the powers his characters have, when the gods of the myths he follows them from were trickster gods. What always made them the champions amongst the common man was that they WERE so weak, so mundane, so normal, that they had nothing to rely on but their wits. Also, by introducing a method for which gods can return to the world, one must wonder what he may do to prevent the old comic book dilemma of being too powerful...
These commercials are really terrible.
I liked this book though.
Pathfinder was way better.

@azurephyre Actually it's not bad for a trailer made in 2010

I love OSC. However, I'll pretend I never read this one.

the video is kind of cool, but gives to vague of an idea of what the book is about.
