  • Totally seeing her live in December, front row seats too! I literally can't wait.

  • shes from penistone. me too

  • I would not mind seeing a film based on this song. I can picture the horse dancing into the waves.

  • This song casts spells.

  • @drewskione Her voice is the "spellcaster"! I can't help but get drawn into any song she sings..she is great!

  • this makes me think of tash and spike in the bbc tv show clatterford

  • If she'e from Armagh well then it has to be a Northern Ireland accent!!!

  • The girls has a superb accent, she sound like me.

    Pity I cant sing.

  • when i hear this i will always think of tash and spike in jam and jerusalem.

  • I love hearing good songs on YouTube you might not otherwise come across, whether there's a video or not. It seems about 15,000 people agree on this one!

  • @awol2602

According to the "likes", currently 49 people agree with you, not 15000.

  • @teammoont I would guess they meant the total views, which continues to rise along with the "likes" :)

  • fabulous.....

  • I'm just watching Heartlands and this was in it .. had to find it! its amazinggg!!

  • i have been searching for this for what seems like forever; i love this song. but i can't help seeing spike and tash from jam and jerusalem.

  • The more I listen to Kate, the more I love her! Her accent is beautiful; I really like the words used by kevinjholmes: soft, romantic, & lilting. Perfect adjectives that also describe her voice & the songs themselves.

  • She's got the most lovely litling voice. And she's so controlled. Very talented. Wish she toured Oz :(

  • Kate actually found old English/Irish/Welsh folk songs and filled in a couple verses to complete the songs. They are old folk songs she reinterpreted... according to independent radio out of Cleveland at least.

  • geordie accent is more famous than tyke! check her bring me a boat song. she should of been broader in accent but its a lovely song.

  • My favourite Kate song

  • Thanks for posting

  • who sang that, I mean. Oh, smoshshsh, I agree! Weird, it's like a british-irish pronounciation, I guess... or who knows. :D

  • She's from Barnsley, in Yorkshire (in England)

Yorkshire, having one of the world's most famous accents

  • Can't agree more with you Rusby08. The Barnsley accent is one of the best for English folk. Soft, romantic, and lilting.

  • Not as famous as the geordie accent;)

check out her bring me a boat song.

    its about the river tyne

  • @ecuka To add, Barnsley is infamous even within Yorkshire for the power of the accent. My Mum and my Grandad (both being born and bred in Leeds, W. Yorkshire) many many years ago picked up a hitch hiker going into the city, having travelled thus far from Barnsley. They neither of them could understand a word he said :)

  • @ecuka its not irish, its just a yorkshire accent really...

  • 'kinda wierd'?

A bit like your inability to write English properly?

What would you prefer? everyone to speak/sing in some dreadful American drawl??

  • When I heard this song for the first time it wasn't Kate Rusby who song that. Does anyone knows who was it? Oh, but 5* song ;)

  • Kate wrote it - who knows who covered it?

  • this is one of my most favourite songs in the world. Amazing

  • She really is =-D
