In real life Schiller and Eric are good friends and Eric credits him with the good years of 96-97 and letting them have creative control.

What is Dr. Schiller's actual role? Now and during the 96-97 era? I know they said in this video that he is the director? of sports enrtainment for turner boradcasting, but as far as administrative folks, would he be right under Ted Turner?

Also, know this is random, but was there ever a Nitro Ted Turner actually appeared?(Other than as a person sitting amungst the crowd)

Schiller was head of Turner Sports and was 2nd in line at Turner's media empire. Eric said he was one of the 3 most powerful guys in the company (Ted being number 1 of course) until the Time Warner/Turner merger. He also signed off on a lot of WCW's creative ideas. Turner never appeared on camera live but in 92' he made a taped message for the 20th anniversary of wrestling on TBS.

Harvey Schiller was Bischoff's direct boss he was the president of Turner Sports and reported to Ted Turner directly. he later worked for the NY Yankees and is now on the board of directors at the Baseball Hall Of Fame

Well RLB-just summed up exactly what needs to happen-because wrestling just sucks now a days-if an audience took a poll of weither they watched wrestling now in 2009 or back in 1998/1997-it wouldn't even be close-late 90's wrestling kicked ass.

Here's what needs to happen in the 2010's. Either TNA stops sucking, or another company rises up to challenge WWE. That company needs to have a good mix of former WWE stars as well as their own original main eventers. That company needs to gain enough popularity to challenge WWE and force them to make their product better.

The three main stars WWE has created this decade - Cena, Orton, and Batista, are all boring as a motherfucker. Make interesting main eventers!
