Because this vid was actually about the pop music duo "M2M" (they sang the song in the vid).
The two female members of M2M, Marit Elisabeth Larsen and Marion Elise Raven, did break up.
So the two female gnomes actually represents Marit Elisabeth Larsen and Marion Elise Raven.
