  • i thought she'd answer that last question with: "Mag-aapply sa call center." haha!

  • 4:15 Bitch si JoAnne. She talks about social awareness and responsibility, kaso responsibility niya sa napahamak niyang estudyante para dalhin sa ospital at iinform ang magulang hindi niya nagawa. She still deflects her responsibility dahil hindi niya pa matanggap ang fault niya. Maybe she symbolizes people in society who are hypocritical, those castigate others for doing nothing kaso kapag nagkandaleche-leche na biglang nawawala.

  • sana may sequel.. hahaha

  • omg, I'm super impressed! Galing ng script and story.

Pati ung mga artista galing umarte! :)

  • That last line made me go in tears... And I never cry.

  • This is NEWS WORTHY sana nakita ko man sa TV or NEWSPAPER para naka panood ako

  • @nongski - Sattire ang tawag dito... attacking a certain problem using comedy

  • Nicely done. Kinilabutan ako. Teaching is a real passion.

  • Gotta love this short film. College students nationwide should watch this. :)

  • hope every teacher/professor has a heart like hers. see how teachers could influence the young minds? teachers can touch every heart and soul of their students

  • this is very strong. Kudos to those who were part of this! ^^

  • are you guys selling dvds? i wanna watch this!!!!! i just saw senior year kanina!

  • Usually I'm absolutely repulsive of the utter garbage that Philippine cinema and media has become.

This is something else. From the dialogue, the shots, angles, music. Epic work.

Why can't they make telenovelas and movies like this?

  • PS. Panalong device yung shot glass ah

  • Highschool kids are more impressionable noh?

  • Wow. Just. Wow.

  • "May bakante sa FEU, gusto mo ilakad kita?"

    "Hindi ok na ako"

    "Sayang naman.. sige na!"

    "Okay na ako, Promise"

    "anong gagawin mo?"

"... magtuturo ako ng High school"

Haha! natuwa ako sa scene nito!! galing!!

  • wow, ang galing! i'm from PUP and I was exposed to activists and rallies here and there but never had the chance to experience or get involved by one. In fairness yung sagutan ni teacheraka 1 and teacheraka 2, galing! Good job, Jerrold Tarog will definitely watch Senior yr, it's already showing in SM cinemas now!

  • Ang galing grabe. Idol ko na si Jerrold. Nakakainspire gumawa din nga mga short films! Grabe. Galing!

  • What is the teacher fighting for? --- and the contradictions of ideas of the 2 teachers.. i feel is not explored enough, thus , audience is left with the same vague and empty judgements on those who rally or give their time to public protest.. as what is said by many above. yun lang po .

  • I saw this video accidentally a few months back. Now that the sequel is showing in SM cinemas, I will definitely watch it.

  • The sequel to this short film is now showing in SM Cinemas nationwide! Check out the trailer in the info section above.

  • i agree Religion blinds because only Faith allows us to see the light. Being Religious is different from having a deep Relationship with God.

    Panalo.

  • wala namng nagagawa nag mga ralliyista!!! theyt just make noise... they don't think they just noise..

They are practicing their right for proper representation sa government, sa pag practice ng rigtht nila ng freespeech, pag practice ng right nila to live, and be given the best possible government there is.

  • @elubdynasty:

    hi!

can you expound on that quote by marx? :)

  • @josephdc22 Religion is the general theory of this world, its encyclopedic compendium, its logic in popular form, its spiritual point d'honneur, its enthusiasm, its moral sanction, its solemn complement, and its universal basis of consolation and justification. It is the fantastic realization of the human essence since the human essence has not acquired any true reality.

  • @azrael:

    hello.

that may be true for some believers, but not all.

  • @kagenokurei:

sorry for this very late response.

are you saying religion promotes bind faith? how do you know that?

  • Watch out for the sequel to this short film. It's called SENIOR YEAR, a feature film to be shown in SM Cinemas nationwide starting March 9, 2011.

  • I was listening the whole time... Mapapakinig ka talaga dahil sa mga dialog. Super applicable sa society ngayon.. Must watch..

  • saan ba makakapanuod nito?

  • ang galing!! saludo ako sayo jerrold tarog.. kung ganitong clase mga movies.. simple but full of lesson, uunlad ang movie industry plus may maganda pa matutulong sa bansa natin... instead n pinipilit tayo ng mga movie maker n plitin supportahan movies nila kahit n wala namang kwenta..:)

  • NAPAKAGALING!!! ang galing ng script!

maganda din yung PSG ni John Red.

  • the good thing about this is that it exposes the bad aspects of both sides. may ilan kasing activists na oo, nandun ka na, alam mo naman na mabuti ang intensyon... pero sumusobra.

Props to this movie. can't wait for senior year. :D

    James of Anakbayan XD

  • pagdating niya sa high school, gugustuhin nyang mag-"turo" sa elementary school..pagdating nya dun, pre-school naman..in the end, it boils down to the parents..do parents still teach higher order thinking skills to their children? Or do they just teach them to go with the flow, without their own reasoning?

  • jerold tarog should give an award for creating a movie like this, yung may moral lessons hindi puro romantic and horror movie ang pinapalabas ., RATED A!

  • Seton FTW!

  • nice film. Jerrold Tarog is very good.

  • good film. maybe this is one reason why some educators choose to teach in HS. PROBABLY easier to educate the hearts of younger people

  • Simple execution with the big bang powerful lines of the character which makes you realize the message of the film. ASTIG!

  • SUGOI!

  • elizabeth seton school?

  • ess nga. :)

  • What is lacking and not being taught in school is "critical thinking". That's because the system (religious, cultural and social including parental programming) wants all of humanity to be as mechanical being as possible. Sheeples that stay in line for the rest of their lives.

  • @aykol2012 "What is lacking and not being taught in school is 'critical thinking'".--What schools are you referring to and at what levels, primary, secondary, and/or tertiary?

"That's because the system ... wants all of humanity to be as mechanical being as possible."-- What do you mean by this?

  • @04Capati

"What schools are you referring to and at what levels, primary, secondary, and/or tertiary?"

all levels..most schools..even at home..most parents don't teach critical thinking to their children anymore..even in school, most topics go something like "Things are because they are" instead of "Things are because of a particular reason"

  • @aykol2012

I'm not sure if that's true. What do you mean the "religious system" wants all of humanity to be as mechanical as possible?

  • @josephdc22

the religious system teaches "Do this because it is written" instead of being rational. Therefore, people are turned into robots/sheep that would follow without knowing why they need to follow..blind faith as some might put it..

  • @josephdc22 perhaps he's pertaining to blind faith and dogmatic following. People more often than not follow the scriptures just because the priest told them so, and they would not even bother reflect on the commands themselves.

  • @josephdc22: As what Karl Marx says, "Religion is the opium of the society"

  • @aykol2012 I agree on that and it sucks!

  • SOCIALLY RELEVANT... truthful and powerful message

Jerrold Tarog galing talaga...

  • @ocirej hey. sent you a PM. would a appreciate a reply.

  • ok na din yung style nito. well presented yung characters, me mga flaws katulad ke joan. at me mga ganun talaga sa totoong buhay. me mga aktibista na masyadong babad na sobrang focused hanggang biglang bakam!

short film lang to kaya di na nasama yung mga details. spice of life style. ok nang underlying plot yung sa studyante. yun yung catalyst ng kwento. yun conflict dito yung importante at yun ang umaapaw.

  • tagos private /top universities..

sang school ba to? di ko alam yung buildings..

  • medyo hilaw lang dun sa basis ng people's actions/more class-based than mere pinoy pride. yun panaman sana ang important content na magdedetermine ng conflict of opinions ng dalawang guro.

  • @genemir Elizabeth Seton School--Main in Las Pinas. It's a very good school despite being a Catholic one.

  • @SoraBogs why despite being a Catholic one? may discrimination?

  • bow ako

  • UP! ang galing mo!

  • Where/ how can I watch the full movie?

  • san to? dlsu? :o wow, tagos din sa school namin to ah :))

  • @kylle26 dehins la salle main..

  • @kylle26 Elizabeth Seton School p0wz.

  • nice po.

  • Looooove it

  • WOAH. ang galing. O___O

  • ang galing ...

  • why is this categorized under "Comedy" ?

  • @nongski

    sorry po...di ko po naverify..

    thank you for the notification

  • @nongski "Comedy" doesn't really have to be funny. Read more about litterature sir :)

  • @bobot01 parody? if not, what exactly do you mean? which part in comedy doesn't have to be funny?

  • @bobot01 i think you mean Satire? a simple google search indicates your point. sadly YouTube doesn't offer the genre "Satire"

  • @bobot01 you are totally right!!! mahirap talagang makipag-argue sa mga walang alam. n_n

  • what's happening? can some1 give me an explanation

  • @Tehrealest

it's in the dialogue. it hits hard on the system, the social class and reality. and also responsibility.

re: the underlying plot is a student was hurt in a rally, maybe that's the reason the teacher is leaving.

  • hilaw din yun fact na magpapadalo sa ganung karahas na front-line type confrontations ang private school, or that a teacher with her active involvements will not take the precaution or be aware of such precautions.

on one side, there's a feeling na kulang ng research or kulang lang sa motivation na ilahad yun REAL story line.. which is only pinahapyawan--- the conflicting ideas. SANA MAY PART 2!!! BAWI !!! :D

  • @Kyan261 meron nga. at isa na talaga siyang move.. "senior year" hanapin mo may trailer na siya

  • this one's amazing.

  • Love it.

  • Distrubing. Tagos sa puso.

  • so galing like yeah!

  • ANG GALING. Panalo toh.

  • OH MY GOD ANG GALING. :o

  • :')

  • this is really wonderful.. this tells exactly what a High School teacher's job is..

High School teachers, this is on us...

  • Galing! :)

  • nice :DD

I made a movie review for this film :D

  • @akoexotic pwede bang mahiram yung movie review mo?

  • now i see myself as a teacher :)))

  • Grabe! KABOOM! First time ko napanood 'to sa Shorts A, para akong binagyo sa mangha. ASTIG. Galing! =D
