too bad i cant hook up a sega cd to my genesis 3. that would be great, but it doesnt have the expansion port. i wonder if you could make a connection to go through the cartridge port.

yes, but i saw somewhere on the internet a preview of a neptune in a magazine, and the model of it resembeled the genesis 3.

Oh, I think you are talking about the actual Neptune prototype (still much larger than the Genesis 3 thou)....Apparently there are only 2 known to exist, one in Japan and the other at CGE..Althought, they are empty shells, no real internal hardware inside..

Would it be possible at all to make a Genesis 3 work with a sega cd? Does the board even have the points where the interface connects to it?

Yes, believe it or not, it is indeed possible...The needed Sega Cd connector, can definitely be installed to my Genesis 3 system revision at least, I may try that some day... Not sure if it can be done it other revisions...

Again,actually many capabilities are hidden within the Nomad,there are many cartridge pins left unconnected..I'll say it is possible,but a major rewiring will have to take place in order to do so and the aesthetics of the Nomad system don't help much..

And unless you wired the actual connector via long cable, it'd be physically impossible to play as generally intended. Yeah, it'd wortk witht he TV out, but...

Even a 32X on a Nomad would be rather challenging to hold.

It could be possible. Since most of the pins on the Expansion port is nothing more then links to the cartridge port. Though I would be unsure if the 315-5700 chip has the correct pins for the expansion port. On the VA1 Genesis 3 it would be possible since the VA4 Genesis 2 has a expansion port and they have the same chipset (315-5960)

you only really have to have the metal prongs if you have a model 1 genises like i do, i can get a 32x i just need to find that seperate cable that connects the genesis to the 32x, you know where to get all the stuff with it?

Actually, you don't. I use my 32X on my Genesis Model 1 no problem without the prongs.

No, esta modificacion no tiene nada que ver con el RGB o Sync para nada..Esta relacionado con conexiones directas con el Asic, el corazon del sistema.

This mod isn't that complicated to do..A schematic isn't really necessary,only some precise soldering skills are needed..I'm currently looking for another Genesis 3 system,to do it again and write a tutorial with pics while doing so and document it on the NET.
